Honestly the owner of this place is the reason I give this place 1 star. Beyond rude. Clearly thinks she’s privileged. I could never go somewhere were the owner is that nasty.

This barbershop hands-down was a really great experience. Everyone was so personable respectful they made conversation I got treatment from meek who is a Barber in there. He greeted me right away. I didn’t have to wait. He was very precise and make sure that my hair was the way it should be. I definitely believe this is a barbershop that’s gonna end up taking over U street. They have a forever customer in me.

Thank you ACIA on behalf of myself and my husband for giving us a NEW IMAGE experience. We turned a lot of heads when we stepped out of the salon. There is no ending to the compliments. My husband was so relaxed and comfortable with his service he said actually I wasn’t ready to leave. Your hands were like magic never really felt you working on my head but when I looked in the mirror I saw a new me. YOU ARE OUR THE BEST!!!!! Thankful for such a wonderful experience we can’t stop talking about.Services: Haircut

There's no new image without an artist creating it. Acia brings life to me. It's not only her professional skill set that creates a new image for me each time I sit in her chair. It's everything that she brings and pour out in her line of work that leaves me feeling renewed and regenerated! The experience there is quite heavenly; every technician is attentive to their craft, welcoming, and quite genuine!!! Once upon a time I resented having to go to the salon. Now, I look forward to going. It's all about ACE at C. Allen Salon!!!

I am regular of Acia. Acia has help me go natural and my hair is so healthy. I have gotten color and weave done by Acia and always leave satisfied. She lets me know each process she is doing to my hair and what I can do to help with my hair once I leave the shop.

Tried Acia because I my former stylist left and I wanted to try a new place. Worst and most unprofessional experience I've ever had at a salon. She only schedules appointment via text, but I had to go in person before she would text me back. The salon wasn't that nice either, as it seemed old and wasn't very clean. They were drying weaves in the old-school hair dryers, which also had a lot of grime all over them. After FINALLY getting an appointment with Acia, here's a rundown of my awful experience for my 6:00 appt: 6:00pm - arrived to no receptionist, no greeting. signed in. 25 mins later: assistant named Tia? brought me back to be shampooed 10 mins: shampoo (only pleasant part) 20 mins: more waiting 10 mins: brought to chair, berated by Acia for not telling her that I wanted color before shampoo. Told her no one asked when I came in and that's what I texted her to book. Even though I told her it was my first time getting my hair dyed, she just plopped a book in front of my and rushed me to pick a color - no consult and didn't explain how the colors would actually turn out on my hair, and she acted annoyed if I asked her any questions. 50 mins: under dryer w/color, with dryer covering my face so I felt almost suffocated 10 mins: another shampoo 30 mins: dryer (which I was told would only be 10 mins) 15 mins: more waiting... 8:50PM FINALLY sit down for my cut. She spent less than 20 mins on my cut, blowdry and "style" with no consult. She wouldn't listen to what I want, and at one point she literally said "I don't care what you had before" when I was trying to explain the changes I wanted. Completely unprofessional. She gave no explanation of follow up care instructions for my first time getting full color. Color and cut look okay, but not at all what I wanted or asked for. I spent 3 hours and 10 mins on the salon, but less than 30 mins with Acia during which time she was rude and treated me like an inconvenience. I don't know how she could possibly justify the regular $100+ price for this kind of abysmal service, as it wasn't worth the $82 Groupon or tip I paid. I've gotten much better service and the same quality from cheaper chain salons at 1/3 of the price.
