Good food and service. Sushi bar is shut down and the overall vibe is empty and dead. Great place to go solo or if you want to eat good food and converse in a quiet place.

We went a party of 4 and they were very kind. Great food! Would recommend the drunken noodles, the wanton soup and the hibiscus sidecar(drink).

This Penn Quarter sort-of-Asian/sort-of-Western restaurant proffers a vision of pan-Asian cooking that encompasses a little Thai, some Japanese sushi and noodle fare, a touch of Chinese, one Singaporean noodle dish and, of course, some Americanized salads. What would any restaurant be without a warm spinach salad? As you wade through the lengthy menu, you might get lost along the way, so the best tip is this: skip to the specials and order the hoisin beef ribs or the meaty lamb chops perched on wasabi mashed potatoes. You can also simply focus on all-sushi meals at lunch and dinner. Dessert? Try the green tea crème brûlée. Accompany your meal with one of the restaurant's special sakés. Asia Nine has a second location in Gaithersburg.
