What a lovely neighborhood store! Got a great and simple sandwich on my way across town and enjoyed the friendly staff and the local artists' works on display.

Aurora Market offers an impressive variety of food, drinks, and fresh pastries, where the hardest decision you’ll face is choosing what to get. But Aurora Market is so much more than just a place to shop—it’s a community hub. It’s the kind of place where employees greet you by name, remember your favorite order, or even recall little details you’ve shared on past visits. It’s those personal touches that make you feel truly seen and valued not just as a customer but as member in the community.
Rahel and Pablo, the incredible owners, pour their hearts into everything they do. Their passion for their business is evident in every corner of the market, from the carefully curated menus and food selection to the unique events they host. Whether it’s comedy nights, craft sessions, or cooking classes in their speakeasy, every event is thoughtfully tailored to connect and engage the community. Aurora Market isn’t just a place to shop—it’s a place that feels like home. Rahel and Pablo, thank you for all you do and have done to make Aurora a safe space for the community, it does not go unnoticed.

Moved into the area a few months ago and stumbling across Aurora Market has been one of the best parts. The ideal corner store to have in your neighborhood!
Whether I need to grab something I forgot while grocery shopping, need a coffee to kickstart my day, or need a solid and reasonably priced sandwich during the work day, this place knows what they’re doing.
I met Josh my first time in and he’s continued to remember me and go out of his way to make sure I know what events they’re hosting. Hoping to get over for one soon.
A true family-operated store that is one of DC’s hidden gems!

This store really wasn't my cup of tea but the person behind the counter hit me with "the locally grown this... Came from a bakery that". So I said whatever I'll support a mom and pop.
Asked what sandwich to get out of two. The worker suggested the more expensive one. I even bought their over priced Mexican coke which cost $2.20 at my local Mexican restaurant. I saw a few other things that caught my eye but I was on the clock so I thought hmmm maybe I'll swing back in another time / or day.
I purchased everything walked out to my van got 2 bites in.. I dropped sandwich on the ground while inside my vehicle. I walked back to let the person know what had happened. Hoping that it was possible for a utility worker that had been out all day starving and stuck on that that location could get another sandwich (I had it in my hand with the dirt and hairs all over it) but the person behind the counter just shrugged their shoulders and said oh well.
I'm giving one star because they could've easily showed some sort of sympathy or said hey here you could have a apple or something. That would've turned a negative situation into a good one. I had my eyes on some other things on the menu that I wanted to try at another point in time since this is myterritory. But I'll forever hate this place and I'll never spend my money here. I regret buying the overpriced sandwich and drink in the first place.. $16.95 by the way.

It was $5 for what I was hoping to be a fresh sausage egg and cheese on a biscuit, but was a Jimmy Dean's frozen sandwich that they threw into the oven for me

From their sketchy ATM to their tiny selection of products, this market is a terrible addition to the neighborhood. This block of Irving has felt unsafe since they moved in. Also, they ask for a tip when you buy your overpriced pasta sauce. They even try to guilt you into it by parading a baby around. Gross.

Aurora Market is my favorite neighborhood market! They truly care about us as neighbors and have made so much effort to integrate into the neighborhood and be responsive to the food requests we all share with them. I go here all the time for fresh produce and love talking with them each time I visit. 5 stars!!
