Great service at very last minute, even a free upgrade due to impending snow storm. Phone answered promptly with helpful staff. And, 70% cheaper than Enterprise.

Great location near the metro station into the city. Friendly staff and no hard sell. I got a better car than I was expecting as well. Happy days.

Twice I've rented cars from here, showed up, and they didn't have cars available. And then they gaslight you and pretend like you aren't in their system, until you call corporate and then they find you.

I recently rented a car from the Days Inn Avis rental on Connecticut Ave NW here in D.C. and the experience was disappointing. A $100 deposit was required with my Master Card credit card and that has never been the case with my rental prior as I am a Avis Preferred Member as well. Upon my return, no staff was available to assist with the return, plan on parking your own car in a very tight garage if any spaces are left.I was extremely disappointed with the lack luster convenience offered to us their customer. I meaner to the staff that I would never rent from them again at that location and she was unbothered very discouraging.

AVIS ROUTINELY ABUSES ITS CUSTOMERS BY FAILING TO PROVIDE VEHICLES TO PREPAID RESERVATIONS MADE ONLINE. THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO REGARD FOR CUSTOMERS NEEDS OR SCHEDUELS.

The good: Good, clean, recent car and a good rate (via EasyTerra). The bad: Some damage to the car that was not registered (not an issue at drop-off though), tank was not entirely full upon pickup, but most of all AT FIRST THERE WAS NO CAR AVAILABLE UPON PICKUP! We were told we we the 4th people in line for a car, but got lucky because one that was the correct size came in shortly after we arrived and we were bumped up the line because we had kids waiting on the other side of town to continue our holiday.

Another great way to ensure independence for older folk. Hurrah , we can do more and more for ourselves . Really do not need to keep an automobile.Uber and Avis at the ready .

All good except when we returned the car - to a stunning 156 dollars extra charge for 45 minutes delay in returning! VERY upsetting, because while I can understand a penalty for the delay (NOT even one hour!), we could have kept the car for another day for that same amount!!

DIRTY: 2 stars mainly because they hadn't cleaned the car before giving it to me. There were literal bird droppings on the car. Car itself was new and ok.1. No cleaning in between customers it seems. If you want a clean car this is not the place. Literal bird droppings on the right front door was a first for me and they had parked near a pillar on the right so that you won't notice. I noticed only after picking up and while boarding my family.2. They gave the gas half full. It seems to be a trick as it is easy to fill a car but hard to get it exactly half and you typically fill more in my case by around 4-5 gallons, 3/4th.3. I had explicitly declined CDW as my credit card covers it and they added it anyway at the cost of another 100 odd dollars. Do double check for this as I had thought I am declining CDW while signing. I would have let all this go if the car had been cleaned.4. You won't find any options listed on the Avis site, for full size car in my case. The lady in there gave me exactly one option ("bird drop" above) and If I don't like it, she asked me to go for a smaller car while paying the full car price which doesn't leave you with much of a choice. Like I said in my case, car was new and ok, but it was very dirty which leaves a very bad impression particularly when your family is getting in and they have to get through bird droppings to open doors.

Car smell like a chain smoker previously had it. Otherwise the car was great. Had to pay a $200 deposit and it seems like they might keep it even though the car was in perfect condition going back.

It is very hard to get an associate to answer my questions. Information is not shared properly between one location to the other, because of that I have been charged twice. I am struggling, making phone calles back and forth, to get a my refund for the last two weeks.

Car was terribly dirty at pickup — hadn't been cleaned. Visibility through windshield was compromised.Due to NYC traffic I was 2.5 hours late for drop-off and location was closed. Car was returned at alternate location 2.7 miles away. I was charged almost triple the quoted rate, including "One Way" fee and unspecified "Additional Products/Services" charge. This is abusive price gouging. Rent from Avis at your own risk. Never again for me.

This place is a complete rip off. My Husband and I wanted to luxury car from Avis. We used the pre check-in online option. Paid what was due at the time, so all we had to do was pay the deposit at the location. Received a confirmation email with payment made and the amount due. Arrived at the location just for them to tell us that they did not receive any payment and we owe the full balance! They took $653.57 from my husband account! We waited 3 hours, spoke with 5 representatives, 2 supervisors, and left with no money, no rental, and no compensation for their mistake! Very rude and unprofessional! Mind you, we were there the whole time with our one month old baby!! Do yourself a favor and rent some where else!Update: they tried to fix the problem by giving us a full size car for the time being. We still had to pay the deposit and money for a fulll size rental. Drove 30 minutes to get a car that was smoking out the engine!! This location needs to be closed down!

The two women at the Avis counter in DC were very nice and professional, however the car broke down on the interstate and Avis would not send anyone to help me.I rented this car in DC a month in advance prepaid to go see my family, and I was given a new Nissan pickup truck instead. After two hours on the interstate, the front driver side tire exploded and I was stranded on I 70. I called Avis Emergency Services right away (early Saturday afternoon) and a woman named Ashley told me "that we are backed up and we can not send anyone to help you, but if you can get the tire replaced Avis will reimburse you."! I am 63 years old and was very frightened and upset. I did however change the tire myself. On the new Nissan pickup truck I was given, the spare tire is the same size as the four regular tires, so I was able to drive safely until I returned the truck on time to Avis Monday afternoon. However I think I learned why the tire on the new car exploded. While stranded on the interstate and looking at the manual, I notice from the inside driver side door that all four tires were supposed to be inflated to 35 psi. All four tires had been inflated by Avis to 45 psi! I think that is why the tire exploded. As soon as I changed the tire, I went to a gas station and reduced the pressure on all four tires, so they were all compliant with the 35 psi requirement for the Nissan truck, as shown on the inside of the drivers seat.I recommend Avis check the tire pressure much more carefully when they give out their cars in the future.I am one of your most devoted customers, and was very disappointed that Avis did not help me more. This could have been alot worse than it was.I think it only appropriate that I be given some kind of refund or credit on my next rental.

The rental experience was positive. It was easy to reserve my vehicle and the price was competitive
