My dog is severely reactive and has had a lot of terrible vet visits because she gets severe anxiety but Dr. Michael at Banfield is WONDERFUL. She has been so caring and helpful with our pup. We've had a few issues with some minor things at Banfield, like miscommunication on medication or what will be done during an appointment, but we will absolutely continue going here for Dr. Michael's excellent care for our high maintenance dog.

Terrible place. TERRIBLE. Do not come here because it’s conveniently located . You’ll regret it. They recommended to fix my dog when she was only 4 months, did fecal exam wrong and tried to give my pup shots that she already had . They don’t care about your pet, only your money. I’ve used them 3 months and that’s been more than enough. They are friendly, so I’ll give them that.

Amazing people in unexpected emergency under the craziest circumstances they did all they could do to help me out, 5 star is the least I can put, truly some extraordinary people

They require you to drop off your pet and leave them there for hours regardless of what you’re bringing your dog in for. Going to the vet is a super stressful experience for dogs, the vet knows this, and they know dogs are more calm with their owners by their side.Banfield just wants to squeeze in as many transactions as they can in a day and not have to deal with owner interactions.

Took my kitten here, initially first visit it was fine, but if you don't know what you're doing or what your animal needs they will try and add any and all services they can. They are very unreasonably priced compared to other vets and the front desk person who is not a trained vet will try and get you to okay tests on your animal before anyone even lays eyes on your pet. Why would you order a test and try to get someone to pay for it before you even see the animal? I asked several times for them to call me before administering the test and of course they did not. Would give 0 stars if I could.

First impression wasn't so bad . It was my first time taking my dog to this clinic. The staff was friendly and prices were fair. when I picked my dog up she seemed as if she was over heated and was super thirsty as if no water had been offered to her . It was a little over 4 hours before they called me to picked her up . After this she needed a follow up surgery scheduled. They said they had availability within 2 weeks to just go home and call to schedule the appt . When I called the next day .. they proceeded to tell me they had no availability until October! This means I have to bring my dog in every week until her surgery. I said this is crazy all the appointments added up will cost more than the surgery! I felt like now they're just playing with me and just taking my money . The staff member said if I didn't like it take her somewhere else. and with all that attitude they gave me I said you're right! I'm taking my business elsewhere and so should you. They just wanna take your money while doing a poor job .

TLDR: The horror stories of negligence are true. Please stop taking your pet to Banfield before something awful happens to your baby next! I’ve been with Banfield for the past eight years, and going to this location for the past four. Unfortunately, I’m going to have to end services once her current wellness plan is up. Long story short, I understand that it was a misunderstanding, but my dog was incorrectly discharged from the hospital after surgery and still had her catheter in! Thank God I was able to take her to a different Banfield location and have it removed. Typically, the doctor gives me a call before discharging her to let me know how the visit went and if there’s anything I should be concerned about. I have not received such a call in the past year and a half, but I’ve bitten my tongue because I understand that Banfield vets are very busy. Besides, they usually just called to say that everything went well anyway. Either way, not receiving such a call is the reason why I’ve been looking for a local vet that has some sort of nationwide or even regional presence just in case of emergencies since we travel a lot and thank God I did because the catheter issue was the straw that broke the camels back. I am not one to complain, or even leave a bad review, but seriously… Don’t take your dog here. Take the time to do some research about other options and use that instead. This just isn’t worth it. I’m leaving two stars instead of one, because at least they were honest with me and told me the situation.

We woke up to discover our dog likely had a parasite. Alarmed, I called Banfield, having never been before, and asked what to do. They said you can come in immediately, we will make this work, we don't want your pup sick. I can't tell you what a relief that was. We were concerned and to have the folks here say we got you. I deeply appreciate this place and all who work here. Dr. Michael, thank you!

I wish I could give this location zero stars. My dog's veterinarian is closed on Wednesdays, which unfortunately led me to this pet hospital. I took my one year old Havanese into this pet hospital because he was vomiting and had what I believed to be blood in his stool. I took pictures of both his vomit and stool, gathered his immunization records, and rushed to this hospital for my 2pm appointment time. During check in, I asked as many questions as I could, and received some clarity of my options. I was given the options of three things: a fecal test, a blood test, and x-rays. This would dispel everything, but would also cost a whooping $600-$700, not including medication. I asked them for the best option for care alongside things being cost efficient in this capricious economy. After I agreed on a puppy exam for $80 and a fecal exam totaling $187 and some odd change, I dropped my puppy off. I was told that I would need to be available for a 5pm pickup, as the hospital closes at that time (only to be made aware later that the hospital actually closes at 6pm). After waiting for about 1.5 hours and not hearing back, I called Banfield Adams Morgan location. As I'm inquiring about not hearing back, I get a call on the other line from the hospital. I answer and it's the veterinarian. He's asking questions that were odd to me such as the color of his stool and vomit. They were only odd questions because I had provided photos at check in. This made me think that the communication between the front desk staff and the vet maybe hadn't been that strong. He stated that he didn't find anything in the fecal exam and gave me two options. The options were to tack on the blood and x-rays or to stay put, take home some medications, and monitor my puppy for 24-48 hours. I chose the latter. I was then told the the medication, alone, would cost an additional $300.00 dollars. I asked if when I arrived, I could opt in and out of what I wanted as medication for my puppy. When I arrived back I spoke with the front desk attendant and requested the GI canned food, metronidazole, and cerinia (via table, not injections). I was told I was going to receiver a syringe with my medication as one of them was a dissolvable tablet. When my medication came out I noticed that the quantity of one was not accurate to what had been discussed. When I asked for clarification, they could not give me a straightforward answer. Confused, I still took the directions and left.Upon arriving home, I was not satisfied what the level of care I received and that fact that I was never told certain information about his medicines such as: how soon before and after food to administer, start time of medications, nor was I was I given the syringe to administer the dissolvable tablet. I was also told, on location, that I could not receive a print out of my dog's vitals because they weren't ready and that they will be emailed at a later time. I found this place unprofessional and that was just the tip of the iceberg, unbeknownst to me. I called and left a message for a call back from someone that managed that Adams Morgan location.I received a call back at around 11:40 am. This call was horrific. The woman I spoke to cut me off, yelled at me, and ultimately hung up on me. That's unfortunately not where the "manager" stopped. I called back to get the proper protocol for a formal complaint and she hung up on me three more times. I have documentation of these calls. I am appalled, shocked, and disgusted by how I was handled and the level of "care" I received at this location. As someone who loves animals, we want the best for our pets, and when they're feeling terrible it's nerve-racking and scary. What's not needed atop of stress from their illness and potential financial strain is to receive the "customer service" that I received both yesterday and today.I was told that I couldn't return to this location with my pet and I would urge you to seriously consider whether this is something you

This place is consistently too busy for thoughtful care. My dog waited hours to be seen, when you call it’s extremely hard to get someone on the phone to answer questions. I’m used to much better customer service and care at other Banfield pet hospitals.

Avoid! My dog went in to get a regular vaccine. They did not even write this in her passport so now I don't have the record that she is vaccinated. The worst part is that she got kennel cough after visiting this place. The whole set up of the appointments is strange and obviously something is happening behind the scenes that owners are not able to observe.

Unimpressed. I tried to get a medication to calm my cat during travel. They didn’t answer the phone (during business hours) so I left a message. They didn’t return my call. Finally I stopped by and asked for the prescription. They gave it to me but I’m looking at it now and I’m amazed that they don’t say how much liquid to give to my cat. Incompetent staff.Update: They don't do actual appointments unless you wait several weeks/a month. Drop off only. I decided to change vets.

Banfield is a fine option if it’s convenient for you, but I found it to be a bad fit for my kitty. The only time she ever reacted nervously to vaccinations was at Banfield. I think it’s because they take your pet to “the back” to do them rather than do it in the appointment room.

I was able to get into this location a little bit easier because at the time they weren't taking any surgical appointments. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

What a wonderful place! Took my kitty here and was impressed by the entire experience. Abrahim, at the front desk, was so polite and knowledgable. The vet, Allen Nafisi, was excellent! Kareena (sp?) vet tech was compassionate and a very good listener. Then the day after I got a follow-up phone call checking in on my cat. I recommend this vet practice!
