I am currently in the midst of the worst moving experience I’ve ever had in my life because of bellhop. Our mover had an emergency, and they were not able to find a replacement and have been stringing me along all day. We now need to either find last minute movers and pay a TON of money, move out the same day that the new homeowners are moving in, or throw away all of our big stuff since we need to move today since we don’t have enough room in our cars. They have been super unhelpful and taking forever to provide any update, and have been keeping me on hold. The only option for rescheduling they gave us was a “maybe” they’d be able to have it the next day, but nothing set in stone. They also had the nerve for if I still needed it the same day for US to book a U-Haul for THEM to use. They may be good if things are going as they should based on other reviews, but the moment anything goes wrong you’re screwed. This has been the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had in my life. Also, they somehow in their response gave us crap for having a couple of parameters for moving onto an Air Force base, like someone needing to be able to pass a background check? Particularly in the DMV area, aren’t military moves common? Or are they hiring shady people? Stay far away either way.

The movers Majid, Deante, and Joseph were great. They are hard and fast workers. Even though the bellhop customer service isn’t great they made up for it with their good work. They were also really easy to communicate with prior to the move via text.

Overall my experience with Bellhop was great. I love that communication and tipping happens on the app/via text. Some of the team could have been more efficient, but Breon in DC was a great team lead on my move and I’m super appreciative for an overall smooth moving experience!

For a brokerage moving company I was surprised that I was outside of their coverage given I was only moving 40 miles to the new address. No worries, but they keep calling me, multiple times. It's just annoying, I'm sure they have fine 3rd party movers that you can hire for cheaper directly.

I’m sorry to leave these movers 1 star because the movers themselves for the most part did a great job. Unfortunately they did lose my $600 bicycle and all attached accessories, which wasn’t great but mistakes happen. The real problem was with how Bellhop handled it. I filed a claim and they agreed to reimburse me $35 total saying their insurance that I got as part of my move through them, covers items by weight and not value. Since my $600 bike was very light (hence the high price) it was reimbursed at its weight times $0.60 per lb plus all accessories. I don’t know why they asked for the value of all my furniture at the time of scheduling and insurance purchasing if this is how they handle damaged or lost items (seems intentionally misleading). Sad to say I’m out a $600 bike with nowhere near the cost to replace after already paying for a very expensive cross state move.

If I could give it 0 stars i would. This started off bad with a text message from the lead stating that they would be arriving 20 minutes late. Well 20 minutes became almost an hour. I still have those messages. Then only 2 movers were present when there should have been 3. So in order to help keep things moving "I" had to help them. No shirts with they company name on them and they drove a RYDER truck. I get a call from someone in the office asking me what time the movers showed up and then a followup call to tell me what time they scanned my QR code which was around 11:52 (maybe). Around 230 in the afternoon, I get a text from my husband saying a 3rd guy had just shown up at the new residence after the majority the offloading had been done. I was charged a final bill which was the lesser of the estimated quote given at the time of booking. A few days later i get an EMAIL telling me that i owe more because the allotted time had been exceeded. Of course the time will exceed when you're shorted a mover from the very beginning. As im looking at the break down of the labor and moving charges, the 2 guys that showed up had a clock in time of 11am yet they didn't scan my QR code until almost noon. The QR code is like a time clock. This is how the movers get paid. A scan is done with the job starts and another is done when it ends. Its also suppose to help for a smoother billing. As im telling the unhelpful representative on the other end that that wasn't the case, he proceeded to tell me what his system showed and he was taking the word of the movers. He also told me that they were contacted by one of the movers an was made aware they they were " In the area" at 11:20am so even with that admission, why does the labor breakdown of charges reflecting an 11am start. I was also asked what time i got to the starting residence. I explained that was there the entire day from 9am til about 6:15pm because i had to clean the apartment i was moving from. To me he was trying to insinuate that I wasn't home when they arrived and that's the reason the QR code was scanned late. Making long story short a supervisor ( i guess) has been emailing me but has yet to call me is investigating what happened. In short i was short 1 mover from the beginning and they showed up an hour late this taking away from the 4hr time slot. We did NOTHING wrong on our end and should be compensated for their error... I will gladly take this to small claims because I am not paying the another dime. I would not recommend this company at all. This was and will be my first and last time using this company. Very unprofessional

I’ve been trying to resolve an issue with my final bill. I was overcharged and the final bill doesn’t match my contract. I’ve called customer service multiple times and a supervisor was supposed to call me back, but never did. I’ll be disputing with my credit card company. The move itself went well, but the billing has been sketchy so I’d advise considering that before using Bellhop.
Response to Bellhop:
Not sure why you assumed the issue was with the minimum number of hours instead of having customer service just call me back to resolve the issue. The contract was for 3 packers and only two showed up.

Jean & Ricardo were AMAZING!!!! I honestly didn’t know how this was going to go, as this is my first time using this service, however the level of precision and professionalism has convinced me to using Bellhop for everything! These two gentlemen were fast and extremely helpful. They took care of all of belongings and strategically place them in the correct spot at my new home, with no damage to the walls!!!! I’d book these guys specifically for all my moves if could. This was my second major move in 2023 and I will definitely be back again for this dynamic duo!!! Ask for them if you can. They are really fast, respectful and kind.

Douglas, Dmitryus and Ricardo did an excellent job! They were on time, very efficient and a pleasure to work with. They were respectful of our home as they unloaded and placed the items in each room and were helpful with assembling some pieces. They were very patient with me even when I changed my mind a few times as to where I wanted furniture placed. I would highly recommend this team and Bellhop services.

The bellhop moving team were absolute rockstars. They called to confirm location, showed up on time, and moved quickly and efficiently. They were professional and well organized from the moment we did the walkthrough to the moment they left. Great attitudes also for guys doing such a physically demanding job! Josh, Frank, Darnell, and Cimeon (and Carlos I think was the fifth guy but I’m sorry if I got that name wrong!) absolutely made my day and move better and I highly recommend using Bellhop for peace of mind and a great experience.

Bellhop provided an up cost, they charged a deposit and then charged the full amount for the service prior to the service being completed. I appreciated the seamlessness of this part of the transaction and was very excited for my move. HOWEVER, during the move my truck arrived 1 hour late, the movers stopped to get food between the pick up and drop off of my furniture , there were moments where at least one mover was on the phone, and multiple pieces of furniture were damaged totaling about $600 in damage. After the completion of the move, Bellhop charged me an additional $300+ dollars with out my consent or acknowledgment of the additional charge due to an overage of time (as a result of the late start, phone conversations, and stop for food). I understand the need for movers to get food, a delay in start, and the possible emergencies that may arise that could lead to a phone conversation. BUT Bellhop's inconsideration of these pieces and charging of additional time without my knowledge leaves me HIGHLY disappointed in the services provided. On top of all of this, I am left with needing to get furniture repaired and trying to reconcile and unwarranted charge. The last 3 times I moved, I went with Bookstore Movers, I decided against them this time, because they charged a commute fee, but plan to go with them in the future due to their speed and care.

Michael, Kevin, and Cimeon were an awesome team. Truly excellent and they did everything that I requested without any hesitation. I would highly recommend them and the company to anyone who are planning to move. Thank you so much for the great work. Michael is an excellent communicator. He got right in and allowed his team to be comfortable with their assignments. They came in with a goal and they got the work done in a reasonable amount of time.
