About Bol Coop Bookstore
Bol Coop Bookstore is a worker-owned project and community space rooted in a vision of political empowerment and the free exchange of ideas. It is a worldly independent bookstore, a hidden gem nestled within the Creative Grounds coffee shop. It offers a large and growing, wonderful, and amazing collection of curated new and used books, from history and poetry to speculative fiction and contemporary titles, introducing visitors to a diverse range of authors. What sets Bol apart is its deep commitment to social awareness. It holds numerous events year-round, presenting on topics from Afghanistan and gentrification to environmental justice, featuring an awesome set of speakers to create awareness and indulge in nuanced dialogue. Visitors can browse the collection, buy books, enjoy coffee and pastries, have good conversation, and become a part of the community.

The city's only coop bookstore has a storefront along the Brookland Arts Walk. Walk inside to find new and used books organized well on bookshelves. All their books focus on important issues to help make the world a better place. I especially appreciated their city section. They also host events and book clubs!
