It's nice to have the bus as a transportation option between NYC and D.C., however, the new location at 11th Avenue in Manhattan is quite the walk from Penn Station - a major transit area which also served as Bolt Bus' original location. The walk from Penn to the Bolt stop on W.36th and 11th takes 30 minutes at a steady pace. I hope this helps!Bolt Bus was much cleaner 3 years ago. It appears their standards have lowered.

If you don't like driving, this is definitely an alternative. Sit back, read. Play with your phone, talk to your companion, listen to music or just go to sleep until you reach your destination. There was one stop for a stretch your legs and back on the road again. There is connections for your mobile devices. We all need our devices charged. It is free to charge your devices. The cost is reasonable. Recommend trying it out. Save yourself some stress from driving the highways.

Great Latin for hall. Wonderful addition to the already brimming DC food scene.

Horrible customer service. While the world has turn of events and we are dealing with uncontrollable situations they refuse to refund. Only want to offer a credit which will not be used because the show in seattle was completely cancelled. I would not recommend using bolt bus for travel.

I bought the ticket from DC to the station at New York Canel street. But the bus direct go to the station near penn station. And the bus late more than half an hour. The bus is old and not clean without wifi. Really bad experience. Will never take this bus again.

I wish i would have read the reviews before picking this bus. They are inflexible, customer service was beyond unprofessional, the guy's name was Joel and he was horrible. He wasn't paying attention, or listening, he would just be quiet doing God knows what on the other end and it was honestly terrible. And then you can't cancel your ticket or change your ticket. I mean this deserves a -5 stars. Do yourself a favor and do OurBus, they're flexible, kind, and just all around better. This is literally the worst experience ever with Bolt bus and it was my first time which is a shame, because it will be my last.

I normally use MegaBus but the one time I decide to use BoltBus is late, I’m standing in line and bus still not here.. was scheduled to leave at 6:30am and it’s a no show, called the customer service number and they are closed.. this will be the last time.. they are horrible and apparently never on time.. I understand weather conditions, traffic and all of that but almost 45 minutes late it’s unacceptable, doesn’t matter how small the company is.

I'm writing this while I'm on the bus from DC to NY. This is my first time with BoltBus. The seats are uncomfortable, there is no WIFI and it's so COLD- Freezing cold. The driver said it will take sometime to heat up but it's been 3 hours and it's still freezing cold. Terrible experience!

First time with Bolt and I'm done!! I boarded the 6:30 a.m. bus to New York. The driver wasn't friendly at all. That's fine. I don't need him to talk to me but when I take other buses, usually they at least greet the passengers. Not this guy! The bus itself isn't even that comfy. I had always heard such good things about this bus, but not sure I can say anything good about my experience. It's cheap and they made a brief reststop break (15 minutes) in Delaware. Anyway, the bus is freezing cold and I thought maybe it just takes awhile to warm up. Hours later and not any better. It's literally 20 degrees outside so heat is needed on here! Someone went up to ask the driver about turning up the heat. He ignored her and mumbled something about it's having technical issues. Smh! As I said, I'm DONE! Let me go put my gloves back on before I get frost bite!!!

I was so excited to take bolt bus from NYC to DC since I heard some good reviews. Nothing about my trip was pleasant. The bus driver was so ridiculous when my brother was 1 minute late for the bus she didn't let him on. She had literally just closed the door. She's a witch for real. The bathroom was DISGUSTING. The bus was also freezing cold. The WiFi also did not work. Don't do it!

Great bus service, they leave right on time and arrive on time which from DC to NYC is about 3:50-4 hours. They make one small pit stop at a rest station near Delaware where you can use an "actual" bathroom or buy a small breakfast/lunch for 15 mins. If you happen to miss that bus, no problem they tell you to call their headquarters where they will proceed to put you on the next bus that stops at thAt station which should be about 30 mins. Great prices too

I had a terrible experience on boltbus on a trip from NY to Washington DC. The trip was supposed to take 4 and a half hours. Instead I was on the bus for 6 hours!!! This is due to the incompetence of the bus driver who decided to exit the highway in hopes of finding a faster route. The driver said that the rain was causing traffic and leaving the highway would be faster. This route added 2 hours to the trip. Besides this, the advertised WiFi did not work at all and the bus driver announced at the start of the ride that none of the outlets work. The bathroom was absolutely filthy. Worst of all is that the ceiling was dripping water everywhere onto the seats and floor. There were puddles of water on the ground. If for some reason you are in the mood to get pissed off, then I implore you to take bolt bus. I was extremely disappointed in my ride.

I've taken boltbus for 5 times now. Only for once the delay at boarding is less than 30mins. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!! On Oct 11, 2019, the bus scheduled for departure at Washington DC union station at 4:30pm boarded at 5:00pm, went to pickup some other passengers at DuPont Circle. Took 45 mins on a busy Friday to get there. I thought this will be our last stop before NYC. No. The driver told us he's over worked so he has to drive us all back to Union Station for a different driver. The journey took another 45mins. When we finally departed, we are 2 hours late of the original schedule! This, plus the Friday traffic, and long rest stop for the driver to have dinner, make the journey almost 8 hours long in the end. Today, when I arrived at Union Station again at 6:30pm for my 7pm bus, I realized again it is delayed. The 5:30pm people are still waiting! Now it's 7:30pm, the 5:30pm guys have just started boarding, and I am still waiting in a cold rainy day. If I haven't learned my lesson last time, I've definitely learned it today. DO NOT RIDE WITH BOLTBUS!
