Carmen Ferrufino is incredibly incompetent. Went in to open a credit card. She literally had ONE job: copy my details from my driving license to the application. She got my name wrong. Then she told me she cannot correct it and I have to fix it myself through their helpline. I've lost hours of my time on their frustrating helpline. I would have been better off just applying online for a credit card.

Abysmal customer service. I went to convert some unused Pounds, from a trip to the UK, to Dollars and then deposit them in my Citi checking account. The clerk, who initially didn’t know how to do that, asked a colleague who told her it would be a $30 fee on top of the exchange rate, and would take 30 days, despite Citi’s website stating it was a $5 fee (free for Citigold accounts or transactions over $1000) and no mention of a 30 day timeframe. The clerk didn’t even bother to look up my account, ask how much I was converting/depositing, or assist in any other way. Just a blank stare after I told her that was incorrect and made no sense. Absolutely useless. I just walked out and won’t be using this branch again.

If Citibank can't cash a check drawn on a Citibank account then why would you bank at Citibank? Reminds me of the time I went to Starbucks and they said they were out of coffee.

Incredibly slow branch during the middle of the day. Needs to be staffed better. Came in to make a deposit at the teller window for a new account opened. Took about 15 minutes - only one teller open. They had one manager and a personal banker that didn't have a cash box and were unable to accept check deposits either. I let them know about my private banking relationship with them and they still were unable to help. That's why I like Bank of America better. In-branch banking experience at Bank of America is better imo. Citibank teller was apologetic, but let's try to exceed customer expectations and not be in a position where you have to apologize. Disclaimer: I worked at Bank of America in my past life so I may be biased. dmo out
