Don't bank here. Hands down, the worst baking experience I've ever had. I've been with CityFirst for over a year now and the only thing consistent about them has been their lack of customer service. They only recently started 27/4 customer service but that doesn't really matter because after hours, the agents can't help and will tell you to call back during regular business hours. When something goes wrong during the business day, you typically have to wait hours for a callback. Its a pain to have to change banks and that's the only reason I've been with them for so long, but I'm fed up and chnahing banks now.

Very frustrating customer service, as others have indicated. Difficult to get adequate and competent/accurate customer support on the 24 hour line.

Saw an article on LinkedIn and found out this is one of the largest depository institutions ran owned by black ppl. I really wanted to show support and open an acct. But it's Saturday and it looks like they're closed (strange) and ppl said that they can't get access to they money on the weekends, and the hrs are short as is. Black folk I'm sure would want to invest in our community but we don't have toys to play around with n money to gamble with. I hope things improve here n maybe I'll try in the future.

The worst! I always have an issue with this bank. Now, I can’t change my pin without contacting the branch “during normal business hours” which is a major inconvenience since it’s Sunday and I have to wait 24hrs to access MY money smh!

Don't even walk by. The worst customer service in the banking field. can't believe we still have this level of banks in 2021.

App is always down so something as simple as CHECKING YOUR BALANCE is a task and a half. Tellers are rude. Security guards stare you down. Bank is only open for 4 hours a day during the business week. If you need any assistance outside of those hours to say, process a payment over the weekend and can’t - you’re going to be s-it out of luck. Can’t do cash advances here either. Tried to support my people but as usual the service and quality is janky. I’ll be closing my acct next Monday - hopefully I can catch someone while they’re open during their 20 hour work week.

This bank is horrible and has exceeded m my worse fears. I am serving as a consultant on a construction project and checked with 3 construction experts whonall warned me not to do business with City First. I advised my client but they chose them anyway. The experience has been horrible and inconsistent with normal construction banking practices. As warned, there has been significant changeover and lack of continuity within the bank with respect to loan officers and even inspectors who are clueless. Do not make the samw mistake. I can't comment on their personal banking but their construction banking is a disaster.

I opened accounts at City First Bank of Washington DC because I wanted and still want to support a bank that invests in the community. However, there are many policy restrictions that make this bank difficult or impossible for me to use (restriction on amount that can be deposited electronically, restriction on amount that can be charged on debit/credit card, no matter how much money is in my account.) Phone call messages and emails go unanswered. Problems with electronic depositing are supposedly corrected, but they aren't. A deposit was "lost in the mail," although postal carrier had written "delivered to an individual" at 1432 U Street. I put a stop payment on the original check and got a replacement check, per bank staff recommendation, which was then deposited. When the original check was finally located, it too was deposited, then I was charged a processing fee for a returned check. This entire process was very time consuming and frustrating. I will be changing banks.

I've been with City First Bank for almost three years now. City First is a commercial community development financier that has channeled over $1.2 billion in mission lending where it's needed most. In inner cities. For small businesses. With community development organizations. To schools, hospitals, and nonprofit organizations. Their mission is amazing and that's why I joined. I didn't join for the customer service, which is terrible. I didn't join for the attention to detail, which is below average. I didn't join for the ease of transaction, which isn't the most user friendly (for example, you have to get checking withdrawal slips from the teller; they don't provide them on the transaction slip counter). I didn't join for the convenience (the branch closes at 4:30pm Monday-Thursday, at 5pm on Friday, and closed on Saturday and Sunday, which is terrible if you work M-F 9am to 5pm). I bank there because most commercial banks' main goal is to make money, not to better the community. And sometimes you sacrifice what you like for the benefit of what other people need.

I learned about the City First Family a few years ago and what inspires me the most is their story and all that they do for DC and beyond! As a native Washingtonian, banking with a financial corporation that only executes / participated in activities that are 100% aligned with their mission is core to my values. I'm definitely team #CityFirst and have encouraged all my family / friends to bank with them. Check out some of their great initiatives by visiting their website or cityfirstfoundation.org.

Today I went to City Bank to cash two checks. The teller waited 15 minutes to tell me that she could not cash the checks bcause the money was not in the companies account. The teller was rude because she could have had the supervisor to call the company. Then the security guard began to harass me.The employees are rude and disrespectful. I will never bank there again. The worst behavior ever from African Americans.
