The building and its location is amazing but the best part is all the staff: the front desk people, the manager and the technician are the best! they really care about tenants! I love to live here

I have leased a renovated end unit studio apartment as my professional office space at the Corcoran House since 1995. Damon, office manager, could not be more helpful or professional. Two other outstanding employees, John at the front desk, and Sergio, all around help for anything I need, have taken care of my office and my needs while I have worked from home during the pandemic. The Dupont Circle area is classy, fun, and metro accessible. I've been a renter through many cycles of management. This one, headed by Damon, is absolutely first class!Dr. Patricia Demont

Corcoran House is a wonderful place to live. I can't recommend it enough! My studio was spacious, with big windows and tons of natural light. Maintenance requests in my experience were always handled very quickly. The location is excellent, with multiple walkable grocery stores -- Safeway, Whole Foods, Dawsons -- but what really makes this place the best is the team. They made me feel welcome, everyday.

I just recently moved into Corcoran House and it's been a great experience. Damon, Troy, and Jon have gone above and beyond, making sure my apartment was ready for move in. They're very responsive and friendly. I cannot recommend this property and this team enough!

Overall pretty nice. I have a studio which is very nice and not obscenely priced for the great location. Included utilities are great, and requesting maintenance in the apartment is easy and everything gets fixed quickly. Definitely lacking some amenities - biggest drawback is the laundry in the basement, which often has all machines full or broken. No gym and the rooftop with minimal furniture and no shade/cover are also not ideal. I have heard a lot about the rent getting hiked up a lot every year, I'll probably move if that happens, which would be a bit sad since I was intending to stay for a few years. Damon the community manager is nice and seems on top of things. Most of the doorpeople are great, very friendly, helpful, and around at all hours. Roxanne in particular is always very sweet and helpful. The exception is John - he is unfriendly and can be extremely passive aggressive about packages... I don't really know why he acts so negatively when people ask for their packages or makes aggressive comments about the number of packages people get. The worst was that I was out of town for a couple weeks, and while I was away a very small package arrived for me. The day after I got back, before I had had a chance to pick up the package, John banged on my apartment door, waited out of sight of the peephole for many minutes for me to open it (of course I didn't open it immediately because I did not know who was banging so aggressively on my door in the evening) and then when I opened the door John screamed, actually screamed, at me that I had waited too long to pick up the package. Very odd experience and definitely a huge negative that now I dread walking into the building if I might see him. So that is a very strange negative but I thought one worth mentioning, and as I said there are many great things about the building, the highlights being the location, (for now) okay price, and nice studios with huge windows.

I was a resident of Corcoran House for over two years and absolutely loved it! The staff is impeccable! They make u feel right at home from the first day. The apartments are spacious for a studio and wonderfully maintained. My view was fantastic facing 18th street. The location is walking distance to everything but relatively quiet. Maintenance requests are answered immediately and I can honestly say ever person working at the front desk is so welcoming. Special shout out to John who has your package before you can even ask. Damon - the building manager- knows the building inside and out and is so helpful in addressing any concerns. It’s so nice to knows your building manager is someone u can trust. Also, the rooftop is simple with fantastic views. The people who reside at Corcoran house are also so lovely. I become such good friends with some many people it felt like one big family. I will miss them all! This is absolutely a perfect building for pets! My poodle Sabrina was loved by all the neighbors and would often attend apartment events. Me and Sabrina could not have been more pleased with our stay at Corcoran!!

I lived here for two years from spring 2017 through spring 2019. I've lived in several apartment buildings both in DC and other cities. This building was perfect for me. My studio was laid out in a very functional way (as in I didn't feel like I was sleeping in my kitchen), had amazing storage (I even stored things for friends who lived in one bedrooms--I had THREE closets!), and the unit was recently updated. The building staff is also fantastic. The same front desk and maintenance people were there the entire time I lived there, so you really get to know them and they really care about the residents. They also loved my dog a lot, haha. Maintenance issues were almost always solved same day, and any other issues were handled quickly by management. I did find the price a little high for a building with few amenities (no gym or pool). My only other quibble is, like many buildings in DC, the building controls if you get heat or AC, and there were some warm times in the spring and fall when heat was on but we had warm days. The location of this building can't be beat. I don't metro often, but you're close to the metro if that's your thing. So many buses are a 2-10 min walk. The city is at your fingertips!

* * * * * * * * * * * Jake Friedman's PROFESSIONALISM, friendly DEMEANOR, and market EXPERTISE went well beyond our expectations. His approach to finding us the right home was very-well received, and I'd highly recommend the property itself! Jake knew not only everything there is to know about the PROPERTY, but was extremely knowledgeable about the SURROUNDING AREAS and general ATMOSPHERE we've come to know. After viewing multiple properties, I was not impressed with the agent giving the tour UNTIL I MET JAKE. He asked the right questions, addressing my concerns directly and even prompting me to further inquire about things I had not thought to ask. VERY PLEASED with the overall experience and would highly recommend anyone looking to rent at the Cocoran House at Dupont Circle to seek out Jake for an exceptional leasing experience! I wish Yelp would allow more than 5 stars, because he very much so deserves it!! * * * * * * * * * * *

I've been a resident two years and just resigned my lease for another year. I've been in two apartments in the building - one on a higher floor and one on a lower floor (moved to maintain lower rent). I've chosen to stay for a 3rd year so that says something, right?! I would strongly encourage anyone interested in living in this area to check out this property. Here's where I think this property really shines: 1) Repair issues are promptly taken care of when reported. I've never felt like anyone was just trying to do a patch job like I have elsewhere. 2) Kitchens up to date with great appliances. Gas stove++. 3) Big dog friendly++++. My dog is a sweetheart and its a shame so many properties discriminate on size alone. #gyr0d0g 4) The location! This is what really does it for me. It's just a couple blocks to Dupont Circle, with easy access to a bunch of restaurants and shops. 5) No need for a car around here - such easy transportation options like Car2Go, Lyft, Getaround, etc. 6) The roof deck has beautiful views of Washington Monument, National Cathedral, and a number of other notorious buildings. Where I find I have to make some compromises for a lower rent than some "luxury" buildings: 1) no fitness center 2) kitchens don't have enough "good" cabinet space...that, or a lot of my kitchen stuff is oddly shaped! lol 3) roof deck has no shade, temporary or permanent 4) shared basement laundry facility is okay. Uses a prepaid chip card system that isn't always great. I've come close to having to go to the laundromat because machines have been broken and none available to use. PRO TIP - early AM or during the weekday times are often better than after work or weekends 5) rent is increased every year which I feel does not help foster a true sense of community like the management company otherwise seems to promote at times
