Not great, but it’s a CVS and it’s there if you need it.

When they say the pharmacy is closed for lunch these people really do be taking they break. Like closed down entirely. No one around. Ghost town. Crazy because normally there are 5-6 people behind the pharmacy counter it should be possible to take breaks in shift allowing for the place to stay open. But 🤷♂️ this ain’t no union shop

It's a pharmacy. You are able to get your medicine and OTCs and they have groceries, electronics, beauty products, hygiene, whatever you need. Parking? Take the bus, walk or take an Uber or the subway.

I actually stopped at this CVS looking for an ATM as I needed to make a cash purchase at a nearby merchant, but to my surprise, no such machine was present and since it's removal, none of the employees could direct me to a nearby money dispenser; especially with this being the cashier's first day. Since the CVS in my living area have ATM's, I just didn't think that accessing cash should be that difficult... not to mention having to find an employee to unlock the candy cabinet, but that'll be for another review.

Possibly the worst cvs in the city. Avoid if possible.

My biggest problem is standing in line more than 20 min. to pick up a prescription when you've been texted by the pharmacy telling you that the Rx is ready.

Many of you have probably heard the nightmare stories about CVS Pharmacies running on skeleton staff that are not capable of competently filling orders. Well, this CVS Pharmacy could be the case study for this scenario.
If you are willing to wait through the long lines to get to a tech (no, you don't get to speak to an actual pharmacist), you have about a 50/50 chance of actually getting your order filled. The other half of the time it is not ready (despite receiving confirmation it was) or some other issue that prevents you from getting your medication.
If you have a car, my recommendation is to check out Lawson's Pharmacy nearby in Hyattsville. They actual have enough staff that care about doing their job, so you have a decent chance of actually getting your prescription.

A nightmare of a pharmacy. It’s walking distance from me but I will use any other pharmacy if possible. Service is insanely slow and staff is rude. Shelves are mostly empty for the most basic things. Not sure why they even exist. Just close it already.

Very slow service, and extremely unprofessional service from the cashier. She didn’t even have the common courtesy tongue me my receipt. She said you can take your receipt from the register. I waited two hours for my prescription after being told it would be ready in 30 minutes. The lines were down to the front of the store. No proper greeting to me, and unacceptable service.

worst pharmacy i’ve ever been to. pushed back filling a medication 4 days for no reason, so i ran out. i came every day for 4 days and nothing. i waited in line for 35 minutes and as i was getting to the register they said they couldn’t help me because they were closed (there were more people behind me). no one has a sense of urgency and they don’t care about people who need their medications.

The service is super slow, specially at the pharmacy. We called multiple times to get our prescription. They didn’t have the ointment we needed for our baby son and they told my wife they ordered it and it should be there the following day. Not only did they not call to notify us that it was not available at the scheduled time, but we had to chase after them to see what was going on. After my wife said we were going to see the competitor Giant, we finally got our medication, the coincidence is troubling.
I'm not blaming the team, but the organization.

Really unfortunate situation, as this is one of the only pharmacies serving this neighborhood. Brookland deserves better.
The pharmacist in charge on the morning of February 11, 2025, seems to have thrown in the towel. This person was completely unhelpful and standoffish when I asked for an update on my prescriptions. The afternoon staff is doing a much better job, but unfortunately, they allowed the morning pharmacist to continue past the lunch break. It seems like the morning pharmacist is actively getting in the way of both the staff and the afternoon pharmacist for making the place run efficiently.

This is the worst pharmacy I’ve seen. I had the unfortunate opportunity to sit there for a couple hours to watch the operation, and it’s easy to see why there are problems. This location does not meet seem under-staffed (5-6 pharmacy employees at any given time), but the wait time is most always long, they sometimes close unexpectedly apparently to catch up (with no sign or explanation), the staff has attitude and no sense of urgency, often chatting about personal stuff when it’s not appropriate, and they are quick to argue with customers. I’ve never seen anything quite like it… So it’s not worth it, I recommend to everyone that they just go to another pharmacy. I’m guessing that’s probably what the staff wants you to do anyway given their lack of work ethic and integrity.
