Gaslighting is a form of psychological abuse where someone manipulates another into doubting their own memory, perception, or sanity. It shows up in many types of relationships—including those where you're depending on a business for your health.
In my experience, CVS pharmacy crossed a line. They initially denied me my lung medication and gave me no clear reason why. When I asked questions about why my account of five years suddenly vanished, I was met with hostility and no real answers. They acted offended that I even asked. 7+ years of higher education. Worked in the government for years. This interaction was horrible when I was already having an Asthma Attack!
I had already received a text confirming my prescription was ready a couple day ago, yet when I followed up, they claimed they didn’t have it. I am lucky I called again to double check, but that thought alone terrifies me.
I believe this level of carelessness is dangerous. To me, what the CVS pharmacy employee did was monstrous. Just like in criminal court cases where people offer to pay their fine DURING sentencing, here CVS tried to offer my own medication back as if nothing happened! O, GOD! NO! Damage was done already! I will never trust that location again.

Literally showed up at 6:30 to have a prescription filled and the mean bald pharmacist said I had to go all the way to piney branch cause he wanted to close early even though they are supposed to close at 7. Never coming back to this cvs again.

Just seems like a pharmacy should be capable of receiving a phone call.

After waiting in line and the pharmacist checking the system for the medication, I was told to come back in 15 minutes for pickup. I returned to the store and after again waiting patiently in a very long line, I was told that the medicine was out of stock. I asked to have the script transferred to another CVS and was told to wait in the consultation line to speak with the pharmacist. I totally refused to wait in another line. After demanding to speak with the pharmacy manager, I voiced my concerns to Pharmacist Filipour. She checked the system and told me that another store had the medication and she will transfer the script. I asked the manager to call the other store to ensure that the medicine was there. She told me that she couldn’t do that. I noticed how seniors and disabled individuals who waited in the pickup line were being told to get in the consultation line to get simple questions answered. I went to the other CVS and was told that the medication was not there and that Pharmacist Filipour should’ve called before sending me there. I’m transferring my pharmacy business out of the 6514 GA Ave store. I hope that CVS GA Ave take a closer look at their hiring practices in the pharmacy department.

Utterly incompetent and possibly illegally careless (HIPAA-wise) pharmacy. The manager, Fatema, took prescription paperwork for a friend fresh out of surgery, told us 2 hours, and then after 3 hours this paperwork containing patient information was just discarded on the counter top and no prescription was even entered into their system. I had to line up to find this out and then join another line to seek her help again. She coldly replied “oh, a few more minutes. You can wait”. Completely inexcusable service. Try another pharmacy unless this is a last resort.

We have lived in the general vicinity of this CVS since we moved here 15 years ago. At first we used the CVS in Blair Plaza. After a while, the service there grew so atrocious that we started coming here (around 8-10 years ago). And it wasn’t too bad. Then, a CVS opened inside the new Target right on the DC/MD border, a few blocks from our house. And it was incredible! The lines were never too long, the pharmacists were helpful and pretty soon knew who you were. But for CVS there wasn’t enough “foot traffic” so they closed it down. And now we’re back at this CVS, and it’s become unspeakably awful. Prescriptions get called in without being filled. No communication possible unless you show up and wait on the first long line to speak to the pharmacist, bc no one answers the phone. And if they happen to locate your Rx, you walk over to the next interminable line. I don’t blame this on any individual working here. The issue is CVS, and its determination to keep expenses as low as possible even if it requires an appalling level of understaffing and underpaying. And pharmacists have frankly had it and are quitting.

One of the worst CVSs in the area, which says a lot. Management can’t be paid to care. Customer service is a joke. Pharmacy is absolute trash.
