The DC Arts Center (DCAC) is dedicated to supporting under-represented artists across all disciplines in the Washington, D.C. area. Located in the lively Adams Morgan neighborhood, it offers a small arts facility with two galleries, a black box theater, and office space. The center underwent a major renovation in 2024, marking a new chapter in its history. Visitors can enjoy the upstairs gallery, which features local artists in a cozy and intimate setting, open Wednesday through Sunday from 2-7pm. The entrance can be tricky to find, but the effort is worth it for the art and performances inside. The theater, with about 43 seats, hosts performances that make viewers feel close to the action, including improv, sketch comedy, and plays. The gallery and theater provide a local, immersive experience, perfect for those looking to enjoy diverse art and lively performances in a welcoming environment.
Popped in during the day so it was quiet, but I enjoyed browsing the show and the space is very welcoming. I look forward to returning here for an opening or something.

Once i survive the climb of that entrance staircase, I'm never disappointed with the art on display in the gallery, nor the performances in the intimate theater (43 seats). Shout-out to A Bright Room Called Day, and Watergate - with Puppets!
