HUSTLE + PROBLEM SOLVING = GREAT MOVEDistrict Relocators moved the (many and varied) remaining items from my family home in Silver Spring to my partially furnished, small, row house in NE DC.There were large bookcases, dressers, a sofa, large framed pictures and mirrors, boxes and boxes of books. Clothes.I was told 5 guys and a truck could do it in 3 hours.I was skeptical. Tony assured me- more than once - that it would happen. Relax. So, I did.Dathan, the foreman, and his team worked hard, but smart. They clearly work together often; it was really something to watch. Two of the team disassembled a futon in minutes to fit up my twisty staircase. No charge! In all, I was amazed how they fit these things into and around the little spaces in my house. One more thing. Another DR employee was driving by my house and stopped by to help!! I think that says a lot about this District Relocators.Everyone was super courteous and professional, also, nicely low key.It was a no stress move! How many people say that? They didn't flinch when they saw the stairs. Photo attached.

District was efficient, professional, and made sure to take care of our personal items during a recent move. The service you receive for the price and convenience is more than worth it.

Good experience. No issues. Movers were on time and did a good job disassembling and reassembling my bed frame.

Given that this is my 4th time using District Relocators, I just want to highlight how awesome they are. Seriously, it's a local business with local staff who are funny, punctual, and understand the stress that comes with moving. They offer an easy-to-understand quote system and honest, upfront pricing. They have someone available for you at all times during the moving process. A solid 10/10. Thank you!

Best set of movers I have worked with. I needed some last-minute help to move my belongings from my 2br apartment into a moving container a block away. District Relocators were easy to book, arrived on time and completed the move in the time anticipated with no extra charges. Would definitely use them again.

I had a great experience moving a 1br from DC to Brooklyn. The movers were able to come a bit earlier than their scheduled window, which we appreciated, and packed up and unloaded very quickly on both sides. Our boxes arrived in perfect condition, and overall our furniture held up well. Tony was very communicative and the movers were friendly and helpful!

I've used District Relocators for local moves twice now (most recently from DC to Alexandria, VA), and both times have exceeded all expectations! Their movers are super quick, efficient, and friendly. I felt at ease knowing they were handling our items with care, and they took all the stress out of what is normally a very stressful situation. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking to move within the DMV area!

Do your research. Beware and be wary of booking and make sure to add full value protection if you care about your items and being able to replace them if they get damaged during the move.I booked District Relocators after hearing good things about them but ended up canceling to go with a different moving company 2 weeks before my move after I inquired about adding full value protection and was told they do not offer it (note that it is required by federal law for full service movers to offer full value protection!). There's other reviews on here and on the Better Business Bureau site that mention water damage to goods and other damage that District Relocators refused to reimburse, and this made me want to ensure my goods were protected during the move. When I mentioned federal law required movers to offer full value protection, I received an estimate that they would protect the total value at a cost to me of 7.5% + a $250 deductible (so $900 to protect against $12,000 of goods) when the market cost offered by most movers for full value protection is 1 to 2%, not 7.5%. Upon request, they could not provide me a policy of what the full value protection entailed. This was enough of a red flag for me to cancel my move with them and find a more trusted company. If you care about your things, go with different movers who will not lie to you about the protection offered and will give you protection at a reasonable price.

I had an amazing experience start to finish! No issues securing a quote, the truck showed up early on move-in day, the movers were kind and efficient, and I was charged exactly what I was quoted for! I would absolutely and wholeheartedly recommend District Relocators to anyone looking to move.

Big picture: I recommend District Relocators as long as customers are fine with purchasing their own boxes and packing most of their belongings in advance. What went well:- Good communication: quick email replies + movers called 30 minutes before the move began- A smooth, efficient move: a little less than two hours to complete. Three movers were professional packers and they knew where to park. Glad they brought extra moving tape and wheeled storage bins to move belongings.- All belongings remained intact (only one box was ripped)How District Relocators can improve:- Provide additional boxes to customers. I felt anxious that I would not have enough boxes, and I exhausted myself purchasing boxes and packing most of my belongings in advance.- The truck was far larger than what I needed for my one-bedroom move. A cargo van or a 15 foot truck would've been preferred.

I had such an easy long-distance move thanks to District Relocators. Despite a mix-up with the dates, Tony was extremely communicative and flexible and able to find a new time that worked for both of us quickly. Tony was very responsive and easy to talk to. The price was reasonable and fair compared to other moving companies. The movers were also very professional, efficient, and took care of my belongings. I tend to get very stressed about moving, but my experience could not gone more smoothly. I would highly highly recommend

We had an excellent experience with District Relocators! We hired them to move us from Baltimore to NYC. Dre, Jay, and Don were very professional and efficient. They arrived early and loaded up our belongings (1 bedroom apt) within 1 hour. The following morning, they dropped off our stuff on time and within the window specified. Everything was delivered without damage. Very happy with my experience!

Look elsewhere if you care about receiving your belongings in good condition. The walls of my apartment were also damaged during the loading process (pic included), so I'd only work with them if there are literally no other options. You'll probably be better off renting a UHaul.I had a straightforward 1BR move from NoMa (DC) to Brooklyn (NY) that was quoted for $2k+. The largest item I had was an IKEA floor length mirror -- all of my other belongings were packed into new boxes. Thankfully I grabbed a picture of my loaded items before they drove off.Imagine my surprise when they began to deliver my boxes, and...they all appeared with water damage. It wasn't "oops I spilled my water bottle on this" bad -- it was as if my boxes were left out in the rain overnight. Then stomped on. I was especially confused since I made sure to not pack any liquids in the main boxes.Initially I received a phone call from their office stating they were aware of the destruction and that they'd "immediately look into it." However, DR began to drag their feet when it came time to compensate for the damage they caused. Big surprise. In most cases I would move on and take the blame for not purchasing their insurance policy. But I wasn't aware they'd take my belongings out during a flash flood without protective gear or alerting the customer until after delivery. Please learn from my mistake.
