I thought District Vet was a great vet up until recently, when my cat was actually experiencing serious health problems. Previously I had brought her in for minor issues, such as vomiting her food, hairball prevention, general wellness checks.
When my cat completely stopped eating for a couple of days I brought her into the vet immediately. The vet that saw my cat did not seem overly concerned about her dramatic weight loss (15% drop in 3 weeks - and she’s a small cat). They performed bloodwork, remarked on low RBC and high T-Bilirubin but claimed that their in house machines were not known for accuracy and will send samples to a CBC lab for pathology report. All this cost 600+ dollars for very little outcome (none of which i was informed about beforehand - ask for pricing before ever doing anything in this office as they do not disclose until check-out). I asked for imaging to help see if anything was wrong and the vet said it wasn’t necessary for now and we should just monitor whether she is receptive to orally administered antibiotics and steroids (they decided the best treatment approach was to give a cat who won’t eat oral pills that could give her nausea). It was impossible to administer the pills to her and her last days were made worse with us attempting to give her meds. They said to come back in 2 weeks.
The CBC lab report did not come back the next day and in a few hours after visiting District Vet (after their closing hours) my cat’s condition had worsened - she was straining to urinate and very weak. We took her to Vet Emergency Group (VEG) and were told that the weight loss was extremely concerning, her lymph nodes felt large (something District Vet did NOT catch), her RBC count had dropped another 10%, and she needs an ultrasound to diagnose. I was told this may be cancer and to prepare myself. It was.
To cut this story short - my beloved cat had to be put down this weekend. Though district vet couldn’t have saved her they certainly were not motivated to help her nor was there urgency or validation of my concerns during my visit.
This veterinary clinic is only good for shallow and minor health issues. Please do not come here if your pet is seriously ill. Other owners have reported similarly. I’m only sorry I read the one star reviews here after my cat passed.

We brought our cat in on Wednesday this week, we were extremely concerned that she had lost a pound and a half since her last visit and wasn't eating. The Vet wasn't concerned at all because she gave her a churu cat treat and she ate it, which has almost no substance and is practically water. ITS IS NOT FOOD and to claim as such is disgusting and morally wrong. They didn't take our concerns seriously and instead gave us some more food for her where we've already tried almost everything. Our cat continued not to eat that evening so we went to the Vet hospital and was almost instantly diagnosed with potentially having cancer. She has sadly since pasted, but anyone with a cat who isn't eating go elsewhere, you will do yourself a world of good. This Vets doctors don't know how to diagnose Cancer.

I really love District Vet. I've been visiting them for several years now. I think they're prices are great and relatively affordable compared to others.
One of my cats is aggressive (at the vet only, shes a great cat at home), and the vets have all been so wonderful with her regardless of my cat's attitude. Because my cat requires sedation in order to be examined, I appreciate that the vets won't just put her under all willy nilly and only do it if absolutely necessary. I also appreciate that when she gets sedated, I do not leave without her (unless of course for operation). I absolutely LOATHE having to leave my cats if I don't need to (ex. A wellness check), especially during something like sedation as i imagine my cat feels far more afraid than normal during that process. It sucks she is aggressive, but again, I appreciate that more often than not they allow me to still be by my cat's side when she's down and right there when she's up.
I love having my cats information all in one place, and glad that one place so happens to be District Vet.
Photo of me with my "very aggressive" kitty last Christmas ??.

I've gone to DVB for over 5 years, despite no longer living in the area. Dr. Nicholas and Dr. Makhijani have been incredible in their care and diagnoses of my dog over the years. The staff goes beyond their means to be accommodating and communicative, corresponding follow-up questions regarding my dog's health after our appointments to make sure he's in good shape.

All of my pets are seen here at District vet and I am moved the moon with the service I receive here. Dr.Makhijani sees ours Chihuahua puppy and older tabby cat. The care she provides is unmatched. She makes sure that all your concerns are heard and addressed. She is so nice and soo sweet blessed to have her as our veterinarian.
We also have a younger more rowdy tabby cat that is seen by Dr.Lin, She is very thorough and very well versed in communicating your pets needs to you in a way that is easy to understand. She has lots of patience to deal with our spicy cat , so thankful for her to put up with him and his antics
