Full of quality produce to eat, drink or gifts. Saturday and Sunday sat as the roads are closed around the market and filled with outside stalls.

Very cool place to visit! Had some delicious Korean food and fresh fruit! Would highly recommend coming early! Love the hustle and bustle of the busy market, very beautiful flower shop too. Lots of fresh product and the meat and cheese selections are very good! Would come here again! There is also a huge outdoor market that’s spanning this entire street! Beautiful goods are sold here

You have to come here if you are in DC. I'd imagine locals use it for good quality produce and meat, but they also have vendor stands selling everything from antique advertisements to handmade jewelry.

Will definitely be revisiting Eastern Market - both indoor and outdoor.

Eastern Market in Washington, D.C. offers a lively atmosphere, with a variety of vendors selling everything from fresh produce and meats to unique crafts and antiques.
During my visit, I picked up some croissants, and they were fresh and delicious—definitely a highlight of the market's food offerings. The selection of baked goods, along with the other food options, makes it a great place for grabbing a quick snack or finding something special to take home.
The market is easy to navigate, with different sections catering to various interests, whether you're looking for fresh groceries, handmade goods, or just a pleasant place to browse. It's conveniently located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, and while parking can be challenging, public transportation makes it easily accessible.
But it's not an exclusive market and these items are found in many other places too.

Small but with some good product options. For example, they sell rabbits what is hard to find in other places

I’ve been to multiple markets in DC, and this is my favorite so far! The indoor, food market is cool, but be sure to come on a weekend for the full experience. Multiple streets are closed to host an array of vendors. There is truly something for everyone here, from produce and pastries, to vintage clothes and handcrafted pieces. I especially appreciate that many of the vendors are the artists themselves, rather than resellers. The vendors mostly vary from Saturday to Sunday, so you can return to the market and see many new stores. Live music in the center of the market pulls the experience together. There are also many unique stores and restaurants in the area to check out while you are in the area.

Fun place to shop on weekends, buy gifts, browse the farmers market. Love the lovely atmosphere! It can be busy, but that is part of the fun.

As a farmer's market enthusiast, I can gladly say that the Eastern Market is one of my favorite markets, especially with the celebration of West African culture, through its artwork and some of their gorgeous crafts. I also found some beautiful kaftans here. Eastern Market is also a celebration of other cultures, such as Egyptian culture, where they have koshary, and $7 tteokbokki at the indoor market, along with beef bacon, although I found that a bit pricey at $14.
Overall, I would highly recommend this market.

Eastern Market is a great place to visit, not just on the weekends. There’s a butcher, pasta shop, cheese, poultry, and produce from local farmers. On weekends you will find even more produce, food trucks, jewelry, and arts and crafts from local artisans. It’s quite an experience.
This past weekend it crossed my mind how (when I lived here in the 90’s) I would stop by to pick up my favorite ravioli. I took a chance that the vendor would still be there (after I’ve lived away for 20 years). I’m not sure if it’s the same owner, but the pasta and the ravioli were still there! I picked up some ravioli stuffed with crab and it was delicious.
Head over during the week if you’re looking for really fresh options for meal time or brave the crowd on the weekend.

It is a site of public commercial utility in Washington DC, which becomes a tourist attraction on weekends when temporary sales of antiques and other items in good demand are incorporated. It is easy to reach by train or public transport bus.
