The lady that I believe owns the place was extremely rude to us. We sat down while we were waiting for our coffee and she was upset that we were speaking loudly. It was Tuesday morning at like 10am and we were two of the only people there. She told us we were allowed to sit outside and then later gave us dirty looks. Used to be a favorite but not after this experience have not been back since

I want to like emissary but it’s always painfully loud and waiting 10 minutes for a waiter to come by blows… food also so expensive. Sadly I’ll be

My experience at Emissary was below average. I ordered via GrubHub on Saturday evening. It was crowded and busy when I arrived. There were four people working the bar and serving. They seemed flustered and disorganized, but they were pleasant. One of the servers/baristas was so busy that she didn't even acknowledge me. She walked past me several times while I was waiting at the register, and then called to someone in the kitchen to help me. The two gentlemen working at the bar were nice, but we're definitely busy and scattered.I ordered an almond croissant and a golden milk latte. I was only given the golden milk latte at first. I returned to the register to get the croissant. Another server chose a croissant and gave it to me. She gave me a ham and cheese croissant. I noticed it was the wrong croissant after I took a bite. I returned to the register and had to wait for a few minutes before someone actually acknowledged me again. A different gentleman helped me this time, apologized, and gave me a plain croissant free of charge. Both the croissants were decent. The plain croissant was better than the ham and cheese croissant. The ham and cheese croissant was cold. It would've been better had it been heated. The golden milk latte was good.It would be tough for me to return to Emissary after this experience. Maybe I'd return on a weekday if I had the time, but I don't know about returning on a Saturday night. The atmosphere and the service were chaotic, and the food and beverage weren't good enough to deal with the chaos.

Service was nice, unfortunately didn’t have the chance to try their coffee as the coffee bar was closed, but I got an amazing lemon

Walked in the other day here and got an drink here, and was quite disappointed since I was looking forward to a nice drink after the place was referred to me by a friend. Atmosphere was not bad, the place was fairly crowded, but I could not tell what the staff member was saying when she was taking my order. She was folding boxes while taking my order and was quite rude, and I had to repeatedly ask her to clarify what she was saying because she had an unfriendly attitude and seemed frustrated in general. I understand it was a Monday, but the least they could do is to make the less-than-1-minute and limited encounter with a customer to leave a positive impression. Food was labeled organic but seemed too expensive for what they were offering - I'd never come back here again, maybe only with a friend. Also, they have a lot of signs that seem to suggest that they don't tolerate racism and islamophobia - I've been mistaken as a middle easterner before and it occurred to me later that if I was coming off like someone from the middle east, and they were not trying to be racist, they were doing a bad job at it because it didn't seem like others were having nearly as many issues with their orders as I was. Lastly, when the staff handed me my drink, they couldn't pronounce the name of the coffee I got properly.

In my role as a customer-facing engineer with over fifteen years of experience, I have come to recognize the paramount importance of customer experience. It is a fundamental principle that guides my professional conduct and shapes the quality of service I aim to provide.Regrettably, I must report an incident that occurred this past Friday, at approximately 5:30 pm, which stands in stark contrast to these values. I encountered an individual whose behavior was characterized by a disturbing blend of rudeness, condescension, arrogance, and apparent bias. This experience not only undermined the standards of customer service but also raised concerns regarding the treatment of individuals based on their race and sexual orientation. The incident took place during a live event hosted by Emisarry last Friday. An individual, whom I believe was an event coordinator, made a series of unprofessional demands. This person insisted that patrons, including those who had recently placed orders at the bar, vacate the premises immediately. Notably, this individual appeared to lack basic familiarity with the bar staff, as evidenced by her inability to recall their names. Moreover, she attempted to persuade the bar staff to disregard the orders that had just been placed, an action that further compounded the discourtesy of her conduct. In summary, the essence of my message is a simple yet profound reminder: kindness is paramount. Customers are generally understanding and empathetic towards the dynamics of service environments. There is no justification for rude or condescending behavior. The incident I witnessed raises serious questions about the motivations behind such conduct, particularly whether discriminatory attitudes influenced this individual's behavior. It is imperative that we maintain a standard of respect and civility in all customer interactions, regardless of the circumstances.

Great atmosphere, good coffee, little expensive, but the grilled cheese was quality. Overall a great location secluded from the bustle of the city.

Very poor indoor air quality. HEPA/Ventilation system defective. My skin got very dry and itchy. Sneezing and dry mouth. The defect is they seem to pump a lot of air into the restaurant from their heating / air conditioning system. The problem is you need to suck out as much air as you're pumping in to have a circular flow through your HEPA filters. I saw about 20 places where air was being pumped in but zero places where it was being returned to the system. If there were return vents they were being blocked by the decor.

Good food and coffee, though a little pricey. But it's a nice, cozy space.

House made chai with oat milk. The chai was pretty weak and didn't have a lot of flavor and the color was very pale. Couldn't detect cardamom or ginger. Next time I'll ask for it stronger and see if that makes it any better.

It’s a really good food but the service it’s Socks!I was waiting at the table for a long time and the service girl was not able to communicate that she should order in the box, when I asked what was going on she was super rude just said: there is a sign on the door!I understand that suddenly it was my mistake not to read the sign, but I thought the tone of her communication was in very bad taste, she could have kindly said, you can make your order here before sitting down. Since when I arrived I told him that I would take a table and he was unable to tell me the operating mode of his place! Before was a very good service/ now I’m not recommended.Besides, it's very expensive to the bad service
