I had a great experience selecting my running and sports shoes. The person who helped select my pair was Ben. Just from looking at my feet, he made an analysis and provided me shoes to try. Based on my feedback he gave me more options until I found the pair that fit me best. Really appreciated his advice! Highly recommend the store.

By far the worst experience I have ever had in a running store. The older gentleman that “helped me” was extremely rude and demanding. I wanted to be fit and assisted with running shoes because I am getting back into the sport. I was not asked a single question about what I wanted and then he proceeded to bring out 4 pairs of shoes that I did not like the fit or look of and told me “those are your best options” and “you don’t know what they are supposed to feel like I do”. I was ready to drop money on a pair of shoes and he ruined my morning.

I was really disappointed by the customer service. After consultation with the staff, I bought a pair of running shoes - I ran with them once on a treadmill (deliberately not outside, to keep them clean) but immediately got plantar fasciitis, unable to walk properly for two weeks. When I went to return the shoe (I had selected this store for its 'Happy Fit Guarantee') I was told it wasn't eligible for a refund due to a small bit of dirt on the side of the shoe (that could have been easily wiped off). I won't be coming back.

This is by far the finest athletic shoes experience I have ever had. I have a problematic foot and rarely have even a choice of one type of shoe when purchasing. At Fleet feet, Ben took such amazing care of me and brought out six or seven different possibilities and sent over 90 minutes with me making sure that all of the different components of the fit were just right for my foot issues. He also was able to fit me in new Orthotics and socks to assist with my plantar fasciitis. I would make a trip to DC just to be waited on by him at this store with this amazing selection and service. Run don't walk to Fleet feet. You won't regret it!

I cannot rave enough about this store. I took my 82 year old mother in to get new walking shoes - she has a range of hip and foot problems and while totally with it can get confused or flustered. Ben waited on us and he had so much patience, listened to everything my mom said, and found her a shoe and an insole that are so great her physical therapist says they’re helping her hip problems. We came back for an additional pair to use for less uneven surfaces, saw Ben again and got the same incredible treatment. He made my mom feel heard and also more confident about walking. Toward the end of our visit, Ben started to help a young woman going into high school getting shoes for her first cross country season; I could hear him putting her at ease and getting her to open up about her love of sports as he found her the right shoe. Literally, from age 12 to 82 and beyond these folks will give you the best service to make sure you can be the active person you want to be.

Went in there looking for a good running shoe, and the folks in there helped me out for over an hour, and we did eventually find the right shoe. Super awesome people.

Disappointing that management is railing against safer streets and more efficient bus/bike/active travel along this busy corridor. Staff have always been generally friendly, but I’m unfortunately no longer shopping at this neighborhood shoe store anymore. Go to Pacers Running on 14th St or in Georgetown instead.
