Had the worst stay ever. I have never had such a horrible experience before with a hotel. The receptionist entered our room at 12:30am with his own set of keys while we were sleeping without any reason. We had to call the police because we were so scared. The bathroom was also tiny and filthy. The room had no duvets, the sheets did not cover the bed. The towels were smelly. The room had no facilities. The lift wouldn’t work.

SSVF program needs to be dismantled starting with Oliver Mitchell, Alyss Aune to Valerie Blades. I am a veteran that was not homeless and got no assistance. Started the program in July 2022 . Now I am homeless and they are nowhere to be found November 1 2022. The SSVF program ran by program director Oliver Mitchell should lose all grants, rights and privileges to Veterans. They should be ashamed of themselves. I am homeless and been forgotten about. They failed me as a veteran and they need to held accountable

I am a disabled veteran involved in friendship place. They know me very well. I’ve worked with their assistant directors many Case workers. Lol my partner and I have been difficult clients with a mix of housing issues VA care and general assistance. Im tied into so many programs I can’t even count. But this one. This is the one you want. They care about their clients. They will not hang up on you even on your darkest days. I have never met people so devoted and understanding with their community. Even though my partner and I have been difficult for them I’m sure as disabled Veterans. They have been more then patient and even loving towards us at times. Im deeply grateful for their relationship with me as a client and they have provided me something many people couldn’t. Safety and I’m sure you can imagine leaving the military that isn’t easy. Thank you for making me feel safe again in my community. Thank you Brendan. Thank you Jillian.

We had potential but I didn’t have time to wait and keep coming around to check for future benefits.

It would be nice for them to update their hours instead of having people come all the way up there and not be able to get services ?

Antwan Gillis is a true treasure, he'll go out of his way to help you, the best thing about Friendship place is the way you are treated with dignity ! They have so many services, & if they don't have something they can tell u how to go about getting it, the place is clean, the staff is totally professional, I love the way u don't even have to ask for things, everything is offered to U upon entry ! Extremely generous. I recommend it to anyone in the area who needs assistance, whether it's obtaining DC ID, birth certificate, SSI card, they'll help u get it, & they will also pay for them, they offer metro fair cards, brand new out of the pack underclothes, food , & snacks ! They also have an on-site Unity Health clinic with a great staff !

I have been homeless for going on 2years. I've been to several organizations requesting help. It seemed that none cared until I met Ms. Liza Poris. I'm on my way to some type of housing and out of the cold. I'm so so grateful for Friendship Place. May God continue to bless your mission.

Great organization that helps people in need of food, clothing, jobs, transportation, shelter, utilities assistance and referrals to community resources. The staff is professional and caring. They also assist veterans in need via SSVF. Rosa, Amanda and Heather are the best!
