“Everyone at Carewell embraced our family's needs and made this difficult process much easier. They helped us find the right Hindu pandit, made sure that we were able to meet all the needs of our family, and quickly as well, and took care of after hours paperwork (which we had no idea how to do) as well as the international demands of returning to another country.
I can't recommend them more highly - their compassion is evident in everything they have done for us.”

“I used Stewart Funeral Home, DC, in May 2025 for services for my husband and from the initial visit (reception) to the last, which was to pick up the death certificates, I have only positive things to report. The staff with whom I interacted--Mr. Lewis, Ms. Jackson, Ms. Rush, and Mr. Bowman--treated me with utmost respect, showed compassion, and were knowledgeable and capable in their respective roles. (I took note that the staff worked as a team.) Whenever I contacted the FH by telephone for any reason, I always received a pleasant greeting and felt valued. The family viewing, services at the church and cemetery all were carried out with dignity and well to my specifications and expectations. I never had to ask one question. or request any change. This was my first time using the services of Stewart Funeral Home and I highly recommend them for a quality, professional, first rate funeral for your loved one.”
“I was heartbroken when my father unexpectedly passed away in the middle of the night. During such a difficult time, I reached out to Paradise Mortuary, and they responded quickly and compassionately to pick up his remains. Mr. Kenneth was immensely helpful and professional, making a painful situation a little more bearable. Within a week, I was able to collect my father's cremated remains and the death certificates. I truly appreciate the kindness and support from Paradise Mortuary during this challenging time in my life. Thank you for everything.”
“We initiated contact on 21 March 2026, since my husband had Durable Power of Attorney for our hospitalized close friend who had elected palliative care. Teresa Schnur was extremely kind and informative, and made herself available via her cell phone after business hours. After our friend died on April 6, we returned to DeVol and Taleshea Speight gave us a thorough presentation regarding the cremation options. She informed us that a next-of-kin must authorize cremation, which in this case was an estranged sister in another state. Ms. Speight went out of her way to talk the sister through electronically signing the permission form. Ms. Speight was extremely solicitous to the sister. The death certificates were ready days before the expected week, which really helped the process. Ms. Schnur checked in several times over the next few months to see how we were doing emotionally, including an email in June and a voice mail in August. This was five months after our transaction with DeVol. We were extremely impressed with the efficiency and sensitivity of DeVol, which made a difficult situation much more bearable. We would recommend DeVol to anyone!”
