I visited giant today 1/13/24 somewhere around 12-1:30 pm after stopping by lidl which is right a crossed the street. I had a reusable bag full of thing from Lidl but wanted to grab a few things from giant too. As I entered I walked past two security guards having a conversation. After realizing giant was a little too busy for me I started to leave and walk past those same two security guards. One called me and demanded to see what was in my bag. He asked me one question after another but if he was paying attention he would’ve seen me walk in but he was too busy talking. Anyways the security guard should be aware that there are many near by shops to buy things from and not accuse and embarrass anyone who has items because they could have come from another store. Also train your security to be more vigilant as I literally walked in 2 minutes prior and they didn’t see me.

Good store with good customer service. Leafy green vegetables aren't always fresh, unfortunately. But the store keeps itself stocked. Due to location if a massive storm or snow is to occur get to the store first. The area is dense so the food will be gone lol. Outside of that, it's a good store.

The grocery store was clean and well lit. The produce was and is always the freshest. The aisles are well labeled which made it an easy shop for those who haven’t shopped that location.

I really like it but the cashiers should get stools. They shouldn't have to stand and work all day.

For the pharmacy 10/10Helpful, fast, applied a coupon saving me over $200 on my prescription. Three young black men behind the counter were knowledgeable, polite and cared. I called on a different day and spoke with a young lady who went the extra mile to try to get my vet on the phone for a question. Highly recommend.

I love Giant but the location on Park is a mess! I'm not sure why I have to go thru a gauntlet of homelessness and drunk people fighting to get into your store. Most days, I will walk to Safeway on Colombia or Streets in Cleveland Park for a pleasant experience, and I live on Monroe st!

Store is decent. Beware of the Bank of America ATM next door I started getting fraudulent charges after using it. I doubt it was the cash register at this store....

Sketchy. Plenty of homeless folks and drunks hanging around outside. Security and theft issues mean they sometimes restrict entrance/exit to a small door. Selection is good but it's too pricey, particularly for the modest-income clientele. Their machines often do not work, and this is the kind of store where one customer with problems can back up the line. Rooftop parking is helpful but the whole experience isn't too calming.

I am very disappointed in the quality and available product selections. Good deals on fruits because of the summer months along with Bottled Water.Cashiers need to be retrained at dealing with the public along having sympathy for those of us bagging our groceries after they speed demoned the ringing of groceries with no attempt to ask if they could help. However, other shelf selections were poor, nothing on shelf and the prices were horrible. I'm going to shop at Harris Teeter in Adamo Morgan.

Dirtiest Giant ever (outside and inside). Only 3 self checkout registers open. Couldn't find anything I was looking for. I bought a pack of Voortman pecan chocolate chip cookies and the were old.

On Monday July 31st I visited this store and was racially profiled by an employee in the Seafood Department. Myself and my husband stopped by the seafood counter to PURCHASE a can of crabmeat while standing there waiting 2 others before me my husband went to get Gatorade while I waited. By the time he came back it was my turn and we were discussing which can to purchase I asked the associate for the Phillips crabmeat which was $24.99 he proceeded to put it in a bag and then looked at us and said when you check out tell the clerk to page me and I’ll bring it to the register. I said what do you mean I have to pay for it first he said yeah okay but how am I supposed to do that when you have it? He said tell them to page me again. Okay we finished shopping so at check out I told the cashier who’s name is Tony what he said and he said what are you talking about so I repeated it and he didn’t understand so I said is this the procedure now? He rung for the Manager on duty at the time didn’t get his name. When he approached I repeated again and he too asked what was I talking about now we all are perplexed. I asked him as well is this the procedure and he said no. I told him the person in Seafood department described him and he went to go get it. Mind you with this encounter the line is getting longer people looking it’s embarrassing and humiliating to be treated looked and PROFILED to purchase something that someone else thinks you can’t afford. Couldn’t believe what transpired so we had to go back and get the persons name so on August 2nd we did just that and he was there and I approached him and said hi you remember waiting on me the other day about the crabmeat he said yeah and I asked what is your name he didn’t answer. I looked at his shirt and it said DAV. I then contacted Corporate when I got home. And I still shopped and spent more money. Week prior there was an incident with a homeless person where security was present because it started in the vestibule and we stepped across the door we were told they couldn’t get involved. Nothing compares to the experience that we have shopping at this store.
