"We do the opposite of CVS" is the best mantra. Prompt and communicative.

Consistently find the best value and quality produce, milk, chicken breasts... of all the big stores and their weekly promotions always seem to have better options and prices that my family likes. Kalorama rd location has really great customer service too! I switched here specifically for the pharmacy and even with their mostly new staff, I think they are far better than Walgreens.

Usually they are fine but I received a notification from CVS (not even Harris Teeter!) that a medication I've taken has been recalled. Harris Teeter (which filled the prescription for me a few months ago) did NOT notify me and when I called, was absolutely clueless about it and apparently doesn't keep records on the lot numbers. Luckily I haven't had any issues with this but YIKES. The incompetence.

Multiple times a doctor (different doctors) have called in medications for me only to be told it was never received at this Harris teeter pharmacy. Giving up and using a different one now.

Anything stronger than cough syrup confuses and scares the staff here. If you need a life-saving medication filled, use an actual pharmacy.

Better than the nearby Safeway pharmacy on Columbia Rd, but still completely overwhelmed by Covid. It’s been a year and they haven’t figured out how to give accurate time estimates while understaffed. Today I called in and they told me my medicine would be ready in 30 minutes. I came in 30 minutes later and they told me my medicine would be ready in 30 minutes.I regularly get text notifications from the pharmacy telling me that my prescriptions are ready but when I get there they tell me that I have to wait for them to prepare my medicine.

I am leaving a picture of the spices as an example of how this store is run. You're lucky if you can find what you're looking for here.

Not even remotely COVID compliant. I stopped shopping in this store. Employees don't wear masks if they're not on the main floor, and then noses aren't always covered. Customers don't stay 6 feet away.

I'm always impressed with their selection even though the store is not very large! I love their produce, fresh bread, and deli/meat counter. And ALL THE CHEESE. I feel like sometimes they have amazing BOGO deals too! I would go elsewhere for beauty items, but otherwise I feel like they have everything our family needs. Also, I usually walk here but was feeling lazy the other day and drove and parked in the garage for the first time. SO CONVENIENT. It also meant I could get some adult beverages since I didn't have to carry them all of the way home in addition to groceries! I try to shop here during off-peak hours since it can get crowded (even before COVID), but otherwise a great neighborhood alternative to Safeway.

I recently visited Harris Teeter's Citadel store during their designated early "Reserved shopping hours for seniors" introduced during the Covid-19 health crisis. The mix of shoppers looked like any other day. When I asked the store manager Ed why half the customers in the store were not even close to being 60 years of age, he indicated HT's corporate office didn't want to turn anyone away. When asked if there was any point in senior shoppers coming in during the early hours as opposed to any other time of the day, he replied "not much". Harris Teeter doesn't appear to be treating their employees too well either during the health crisis. Only one employee was wearing a mask. An employee confided that HT was not providing masks or sanitizer for the staff. I recommend shopping at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods where they are actually enforcing social distancing both inside the store and for those waiting in line outside and designated "senior shopping hours" are just that.

Aside from the cashiers who have a barrier, staff are not wearing masks and are not socially distancing from each other or from customers.
