This pharmacy used to be great. But in the last few years staffing has been so low that they often only have 1 person working at a time. I'm not sure if it is inadequate pay at this location, or a lack of people interested in being a pharmacist. My guess is the former. Because of this lack of staff, the staff they do have are overworked and unable to meet the demands. It is often impossible to get through over the phone because they are helping customers in store. The 1 in 100 times I actually get through over the phone, the person I am speaking to is so stressed that basic customer service, such as saying, "thank you for calling" or, "have a great day" rather than just hanging up, is nowhere to be seen. They are also so busy that they often don't see refills requested through their website. On more than one occasion I have had to go to the pharmacy just to request that my prescription actually gets refilled.Recently my dogs prescription was entered incorrectly, providing me with only 20 days supply but showing that it couldn't be refilled for 2 months. Because of this error I was unable to attempt to refill it through the website and had to call. The man I spoke to was clearly trying to juggle too many things. Harris Teeter, you need to get in more, quality, staff. Change your policies if needed to actually be able to retain them.

Don't trust me... just try to call the pharmacy. See if anyone picks up.

This pharmacy is clearly understaffed, but the team who does work here works very hard. I had to fill prescriptions for myself and my son this week, and they were so helpful with troubleshooting an issue communicating with my doctor and helping me understand how to give my toddler his medicine. They also really went above and beyond in getting a new prescription ready as fast as possible. Thank you!

Tried calling this pharmacy for more than an hour....tried again the next morning... not sure what the issue is but NO ONE EVER picks up. Tried calling the main Harris Teeter pharmacy number as well and it just kept cycling thru the same questions.I was trying to be polite and calling to cancel a vaccine shot... oh well - hope their issue doesn't screw up my ability to get the shots somewhere else.

I cannot get in touch with anyone by phone. I have to make multiple trips to get issues sorted out. This location seems to be woefully under staffed.

I called to ask about the availability of the medication prescribed to me for my diagnosed ADHD, since there's a shortage and I've had a hard time finding it. The pharmacist clearly assumed I was just seeking narcotics illegally, and snapped "we don't give out that information over the phone" and hung up on me. Unprofessional and insulting behavior directed at someone just trying to fill a legal prescription.

I’ve never had a problem getting my prescriptions filled here. Harris Teeter Pharmacy is nice and the pharmacists appear to know what their doing. The other employees are at the least helpful and some are very friendly!

I use -- or used to -- Harris Teeter pharmacy at The Yards. This review would be negative 5 stars if that were a possibility. Their customer service is non-existent. No one at the pharmacy answers the phone. When I left a detailed message about the prescriptions I needed and how their website was screwed up and asked them to please call me so that we could figure out how I could get my prescriptions, no one returned my call. I waited two days and then called the store manager who was very pleasant, listened to my saga, and said he would walk over the the pharmacy and get the pharmacy manager to talk to me. After waiting 8 minutes, a young woman came on the line and asked how she could help. After identifying the 3 prescriptions that I needed filled -- all were new prescriptions sent in by the urgent care doctor I had seen -- she was able to get them in process and said they'd be ready in an hour. I then stated that I recognized that the issues I was having may not be her fault, but asked that she convey the information to the appropriate higher up. As I started to explain the issues with their website (the prescriptions listed as would be ready on a certain time and date, when they weren't ready they simply disappeared from the website, two days later they were again on the website and I ordered again, when the date and time for them to be ready came and passed the website listed them among my medications but did not list them as being worked on and would have required me to order them again!). Before I could finish, the pharmacy staffer (manager?, God, I hope not) interrupted me, said they were understaffed and that the prescriptions would be ready soon and I'd receive a text. When I tried to continue she simply hung up on me. If this is the way Harris Teeter Pharmacy treats their customers, I don't want to be one of their customers any longer. How about you?

The previous reviews are exactly right - there's one pharmacist, her name is Hannah, who is perhaps the best, most thoughtful pharmacist I've run across in the entire city. There's another woman - I didn't catch her name - who quite literally just HUNG UP on me after - as previously noted, anger went from 0-60 like I'd insulted her personally - bc I asked about the status of a prescription, and she said she wasn't going to fill it until my doctor learned how to write a proper prescription. I simply asked her what information my doctor needed to include and she became FURIOUS, told me she didn't have time for me and hung up. It was WILD. I've never seen anything like it. This person should not be allowed to work in health care.

Nobody answers the phone in the pharmacy anymore. I haven't had my insulin for 3wks because of a restock order!!! And they have done nothing to help me. I called another pharmacy to see if they had it and they do, but they can't get through to these folks because they're not picking up the darn phone!!!! Andee Gibb (pharmacy manager) is quite snappy at times.

This is one of the most astonishingly unprofessional experiences of my life. It would actually be a little funny if it wasn't so bad. On Friday, March 24, 2023 at about 3 pm, I went to pick up my prescription. There was an issue with the price of the drug (ie. the price was roughly 400% higher than what I paid last month), which made sense because (1) I had recently changed insurance providers and (2) the last time I went to this same Harris Teeter Pharmacy, the exact same situation occurred, ultimately resulting in my paying the LOWER price. Now we all know that prescription pricing can be confusing, especially when you are changing providers. Rates change, coverages change, it's complicated. I certain get that, so ultimately, that I had to pay the higher price isn't unheard of nor was the idea that there was a price discrepancy. I know this. You, the person reading this, knows this. One would think a pharmacist knows this too and gets that it is their job to reasonably deal with these issues. Well, one would think. That said, and I mean this, I have never, ever, dealt with a more unprofessional, rude and frankly, arguably unstable managing pharmacist in my entire life! This person, who happened to be a brunette woman, probably in her 30s, upon being asked a very routine and honesty, reasonable question/explanation about why my prescription could TWICE have been quoted a higher price initially but only once been offered the lower price, she launched into what I can best describe as an aggressive diatribe that was unwarranted and unprovoked. I mean, I was just standing there, nobody was mad at all. Upon being asked this question about my healthcare, she conjured up a rage that went from 0 to 100 in literally 3 seconds. And she was using hand gestures that were akin to what you might see from a woman on the Maury Povich Show....you know....RIGHT before Maury reads whether baby Aiden actually does belong to "The Father" who is just denying it all? It was like a mix between that and the moment when Vanilla Ice said "word to ya mother" on the Ice Ice Baby video. It was like it was personal for her but I don't know her and we spoke for under 10 seconds! It was completely nuts as she was aggressively getting after me about how how I need to call my insurance company, how she "knows [she's] right" (?) and "do you want it or not?" Then, I think sensing that she took things too far and because she was literally losing control, again inside a 10 second long interaction, she just walked away! I was stunned! Then I looked at the other employees there and they looked back at me with expressions that were one part "she often does this" and one part "GET OUT!" Then I literally asked "is this how she always talks to customers?" I mean, they didn't respond and who could blame them? But they looked at me with blank stares like caged songbirds that had completely lost their tune. Here is the bottom line, this pharmacist has no business being in any role involving interactions with the public. And that's not a knock on her integrity, it's just not a good fit. She does not have the temperament for that job. Second, her conduct was so unprofessional and she did it so quickly and with such ease, that there is no possible way I'm the only person she has treated this way. She is a toxic individual and frankly, Harris Teeter would do well to get her out of this role because I'm certain that she mistreats employees, colleagues, customers, reps, delivery persons, I mean anyone, the exact same way. And while I know she's not in a position to defend herself, which is unfair, in this case it's a favor to her. Because whatever she wrote back would undoubtedly be written in ALL CAPS with several exclamation points and an angry emoji blowing smoke out of its nose! I will be moving my business elsewhere. This is not a trustworthy leader and she really shouldn't be working there or anywhere involving the public and definite

I have never experienced such rude behavior in my life. My doctor sent two prescriptions to the Harris Teeter Pharmacy 1201 First St NE, Washington, DC location at 5pm. Knowing this pharmacy is always slow, I waited until 6:45pm to pick it up keeping in mind that they close at a ridiculously early 7pm. The pharmacist was sitting on her fat behind staring at the clock and huffed and muttered a rude remark when she finally noticed me standing at the counter to be waited on. She never smiled, rudely asked my date of birth, stomped around looking for my script, never said another word but how much I owed. When I got outside, I noticed she only gave me one of the two my doctor sent in. It was a minute after 7, 7:01, and while she was still there, refused service that she should have given me to begin with if she was doing her job correctly. I told her I needed my medicine that my doctor wanted to me start on it immediately and for someone who works in medicine should see that given the type of medicine. She just said, "tough come back tomorrow". This woman should not be working in healthcare if she provides this type of customer service. She also refused to give me her name and laughed when I asked for it. Harris Teeter, this might be the last of me since your employee refused to provide customer service on an urgent prescription that she should have given me the first time if the heifer was doing her job.

Mya is very rude and nasty! I wouldn’t come back to the M st pharmacy because of her attitude towards me and other customers! My experience was horrible at this M st Harris Teeter with Mya the pharmacist or pharmacist assistant! Was uncooperative with giving me her information! She even said that she didn’t feel like ringing me up for my medicine! Her and another worker laughed at me and joked when giving me my medicine! Horrible, will never go back with this treatment!
