My brother Veterans, please read this. I have been using Home Depot for years using only my license to prove I'm a veteran. Home Depot now won't allow this, saying you need more proof. I can understand this, but for WW2, Korean and Vietnam Veterans back then, the only proof we had was our DD 214 honorable discharge form, an 8 1/2 x 11 form that won't fit in our wallet like our license does. So now if I want to shop at Home Depot I must carry this form to get the discount. We have a president that thinks all Veterans are losers and suckers, please don't tell me that Home Depot does too. From here on I'll shop at Lowes or ACE, at least they appreciate our service. A shout out to all my Brother Veterans, thanks for your service.

I received outstanding assistance from a Home Depot Associate named Ed in the Electrical Department. He explained all of the options to me, showed me products that may be relevant, and then went the extra mile and answered every single one of my questions. Ed made me feel like I was a valued member of the Home Depot community, and that made an enormous difference to me during my shopping experience. Can't wait to return and shop here again!

Ordered a gift card to be delivered to a friend for his birthday. 8 days later, I received no notification confirming it shipped. So, I called. Apparently they forgot to send it and now they need another day or two to ship rather than just sending as they need to find out why it didn't ship. Amazing what you get when you buy from a large conglomerate rather than a local shop their skills.

Byron in electrical was a lifesaver...twice! I went in last Saturday to figure out the right equipment for installing some new light dimmers...my lighting situation is a rather complicated and specialized case, but Byron spent 10 minutes helping me figure out exactly what I needed and telling me in detail how to do it. It worked! Then I went back the next day with an even more in-depth lighting issue for another room (I could try to explain it but it would take the rest of my human life and still wouldn't make sense). Byron understood what I needed, and kept saying "I won't let this stump me!" as we worked through the different items I would need to put lighting in my office. He spent 20 minutes, told me exactly how to do what I needed to do, and it worked out perfectly. Without Byron, I would have had to hire an electrician. Period. This man saved me a few hundred dollars because he refused to be stumped by my electrical challenges. If you have an electrical issue, search out Byron. He's fantastic and a real credit to Home Depot. Also, to humanity.

The positives for this Home Depot are that the staff all wore masks and this massive store has pretty much anything you'll need. The staff was extremely unhelpful during many of my visits. My last visit, it took asking 5 people to find what I needed (I found on my own because no one knew where it was). Every time I asked someone, I was met with "I'm heading to my break," "I don't know," or "Try aisle x." My trip ended up taking far longer than needed. If you do go to this store, make sure you have researched what you need to get the job done ahead of time and plan to find things on your own.

Extremely rude women in the nursery. Gave me attitude for no reason... was just asking why a gate was closed. Half the people have masks but aren't wearing them. Will not be back. Advice is to drive the extra 5-10 miles to a Lowe's.

This Home Depot is the ONLY DC location and just continues to be a disappointment.I'm doing a major renovation of my condo and find myself here multiple times a week, and there is never enough staff. A lot of the staff that are there seem to be not properly trained, and frustrated. I've often heard them cussing in front of customersA few weeks ago I rented a Uhaul to pick up a larger order of drywall and durock that I placed the day before. I come to pick it up, the loading bay is a total cluster, it's almost impossible to get staff to help you load, and they had my order was wrong. So they had to pull more durock. When I get it to my condo, my contractor notices that 43 of my 44 sheets of drywall are cracked, and only one sheet of durock is the right size. We had to go back to Home Depot, called ahead to explain what happened and asked for the manager, guy who answered said he wasn't available that day??? But when I got there later found out he was the manager. He was annoyed and cussing, but was helpful. And said 27 people had called out that day. There never seem to be enough staff in the actual departments. When I was there this week, they told me the flooring guy had clocked in but wasn't on the floor yet. So someone from another dept had to help me once they finished with someone else.I will highlight that that there are some very nice, helpful staff members, but in all, going to this Home Depot is usually a stressful situation, where you are hard pressed to find help. And there are usually a ton of people in the store. ( Not coolduring COVID) So if you live remotely close to another one, or a Lowe's run don't walk to that store instead. I won't be coming back here.

I have been working with Toni over Kitchen remodeling. She's friendly and an expert! Can't say enough nice things about her.

Do not come here and plan to use curbside pick up. It's an hour long wait or more and they'll get your order wrong twice. I wish I had gone to Lowe's.

On June 18, 2020, this Home Depot had a warrant issued for a young black man who approached me stating he couldn't use his store credit and asked whether I would purchase it from him. I shop at Home Depot often and agreed to help the young man. We both were unaware of Home Depot's policy that store credit was non-transferrable and checked with the cashier twice to see how much money was on the store credit. The young man also verified that this was his store credit, not the store credit of another individual. There were no signs published regarding the non-transferable policy nor did the cashiers make us aware of the policy. Upon checkout I was then made aware of the policy and was told that I could not use the card. Even Home Depot's security personnel stated that had been 'observing' the incident the entire time but failed to interject themselves and make us aware of the policy. I called the young man and told him about the policy in which he drove back, showed his identification that matched the store credit, stated he could not use the store credit, and wanted to use it for my items. Home Depot once again stopped this from happening, canceled the young man's store credit, and had a warrant issued for his arrest.I believe Home Depot was targeting this young man unnecessarily. They claimed to have watched the entire incident but not once stepped in to make either of us aware of the store's policy. I have been a loyal customer to Home Depot and have spent thousands of dollars supporting their business. However, I believe this circumstance was extremely unprofessional and unethical. I also believe there needs to be a review of their non-transferable policy. Home Depot pocketed the store credit and issued a warrant for this young man over an incident that could have been prevented by Home Depot. Shame on this Home Depot that would rather see a young man go to jail and pocket cash at my expense rather than educate us on their policy. I have attempted to file complaints with the manager of this store and through calling Home Depot's customer care phone line but have only been dismissed and brushed off.

Used curbside pickup during Covid pandemic. First, they were out of stock on a drill but didn't make any attempt to call to choose an alternative...just cancelled it. Show up to pick up our items. Call the number indicated in the curbside waiting area...hold music for 15 minutes. Go inside anyway, defeating entire purpose of curbside pickup, and are still here 40 minutes later waiting for them to get our items. On our third try now to complete the order as they keep bringing out a few items at a time. Will not be back to this store.

Located in Northeast D.C., this Home Depot is the only location within Washington, D.C. (there are a few in the suburbs). Despite being in the middle of the city, it feels like a Home Depot that you're used to with a huge parking lot and a massive building full of any house and garden supply you need. It gets crowded on weekends, but you can usually find a staff member help you find any section from paints to keys to doors. Their garden center is pretty big too and has anything you'd need.

Don't buy anything from here especially appliances. It took three times to get a washer and dryer delivered. The final attempt I begged for the guy to deliver. I paid for installation and delivery; they left both on the floor, wrong color and accessories. They came 45 minutes before the time and were rude. The store transaction was awful... I begged for help all three times and each transaction took an hour or more. Save yourself a headache!

I'm fairly confident that this is the worst Home Depot in America. Here's a list of reasons why:* aisles are poorly organized and items are scattered in all the wrong places* they leave ladders and things in the aisles blocking access to inventory* they leave aisle gates closed on one side after using heavy machinery in them, so you have to walk around to the other end, often this is the case for multiple aisles in a row, but the other end its open with no gate.* whatever I need is almost always out of stock* their staff is impossible to find. In one case I made no less than 4 attempts to get someone to measure and cut wire for me, but in the end they never showed and I had to go elsewhereIt's really disappointing because this store is just a half mile from my house, but it's pretty much worthless since I can never buy what I need there. I wrote an email to the CEO of Home Depot, and the store manager replied and apologized, but nothing has changed. Everything is still out of stock and the staff are still nowhere to be found. This has left me with no other choice but to drive 5x farther away to Lowe's, but at least they offer a veteran's discount which is nice.

Shop here at your own risk! I bought a washer/dryer here. They only brought the washer during delivery. So I returned it till they had both units. After about a week of them not responding to questions about when I'd get both units, I canceled the order. That was over a month ago and I still haven't been refunded. I've talked to numerous staff and none of them can get my money to me. It's so bad that I'm just calling my credit card company to dispute the charge! How did this pathetic company get so much credibility?
