If I could put 6 stars I would! Long story short I had some records I did not listen to and wanted to sell and called around till I got to this shop. They were very transparent and clear on the process of selling them. Went there and was greeted by a very nice guy who took my records and was able to give me a great amount for them! The shop is cozy and has a huge selection! Definitely will be coming back.

Big and great selection of jazz, blues, and soul (not much rock), almost all vinyls are used but in great shape (most are VG+). No dollar bins or crazy deals, only found a few under $10, but prices were generally below typical market prices. Great atmosphere, worth a visit!

I'm a big fan of Home Rule Records. Last year I went in to shop for some records for my sister's birthday. I walked through some of her preferences, some artists she's into, and I spent a good chunk of time listening to recommendations from staff. It was a good experience, and the gifts I got were great, so I did it again this year. They spent even more time with me this time, and because there was only one other person in the shop at the time, we played stuff on the store's system. After over eight solid recommendations, I came away with four great deals that were perfect. I love the staff, the vibe, and the genuine helpfulness. Thank you!

Met HR records today at a satellite sale at a record show in Arbutus. I've been collecting records for a few years and just recently started getting into jazz (I'm still in the early stages of my jazz exploration). I explained the few pieces in my collection and also the albums I've listened to that didn't make the cut. The guy was super friendly and helpful and hooked me up with some knowledge, as well as a very nice repress of Rollins' "The Bridge" for a great price. He was spot on with the recommendation. Highly recommend!
