Today we closed on the purchase of a home on Capitol Hill. Thanks to Paul Legere and his team at Joel Nelson Group, the transaction unfolded like a dream, moving smoothly from one phase to the next. Where there were bumps, Paul was available and ready to evaluate options and possible solutions. He understood what our goal was and his advice was carefully designed to promote that end. He gave us a heads up on a property not yet listed, enabling us to signal interest even before it was publicly listed. Joel and Taylor were fantastic to work with. They gave excellent advice about how to position our house for maximum advantage in a complicated market, and gave us white glove service throughout the process. In the midst of a quick-turn move, it was a huge relief to work with such professionals. And the results speak for themselves - we secured a strong offer in record time!

If I could give JNG more than five stars, I would. Joel and his team were prompt, communicative, and professional throughout the process of selling our condo this summer. In fact, I've used JNG for all of my real estate needs over the past few years and I've never had anything but a great experience working with them. They've helped us sell/buy both houses and condos in the Capitol Hill area. Highly recommended.

We worked with Alan Mertz as our realtor to help us find and purchase our first home. Alan is so fun to work with as well as knowledgeable and efficient. He knows how to get the job done for his client! He brings his extra charm, laughter, and ease to what could have been an intimidating process.
Communication with Alan and Christine (transaction coordinator), was seamless, efficient, and easy. Every step was communicated with us throughout the whole process, we were never left guessing or wondering what was next. Christine was also so easy to get in touch with and worked hard to answer any questions quickly. The whole JNG team made us relax as we walked through such a big decision and huge financial process, alleviating that extra unwanted stress.
Cannot recommend working with Alan, Christine, and JNG enough!

The Joel Nelson Group was *really great* to work with in selling our condo. They made everything as easy as possible for us, setting a reasonable budget for repairs ahead of listing and then doing all of the repair work themselves (!!!). They finished within budget and on schedule, and after their work, our condo looked so beautiful in person and in the listing that I almost felt second thoughts about selling! His team was great with communication, too, which helped ease the load on our end, and Joel himself was very involved and easily accessible throughout the process. We really appreciate their expert help and kind support through this transition!

I can't recommend Joel Nelson enough!! His professionalism is next level and his entire team is top notch. With very little notice he helped us get our house on the market in DC at a time that many houses weren't selling and got us an amazing offer on the first day we showed the house. This happened because the house was priced correctly based on Joel's in depth knowledge of the market and his research and because of his teams' help staging the house and even arranging to have all the items we wanted to donate picked up. The marketing materials also highlighted all the best features of the house and the neighborhood. Five stars all around!

The easiest recommendation I'll make all year: you won't find a better DC-area realtor than Joel & his group. They're honest, efficient and responsive. I've used them twice now to sell DC properties, and in both cases I always felt that their allegiance was to their client (rather than to taking the commission & running). It's especially refreshing to see an established firm take nothing for granted & work hard to earn one's trust. Cannot praise them highly enough.

Taylor Erwin and her team helped us find a new home in Capitol Hill. Coming from Denver, we really appreciated the extra support. Taylor made us feel like we were her only customer (and we knew we were not). She responded immediately to questions, facetimed when we couldn't be there in person, scheduled pre-offer inspections, provided timely/up-to-date analyses of the area/comps, and generated quick turn offers. Closing was a breeze. Follow-up with the seller's was extra appreciated. Her network of contractors are trusted and responsive. Being with the military, we have experienced lots of moves. Taylor was our best realtor yet.
