Our visit to Joe's Seafood restaurant and lists out a few problems we encountered during the visit. First, the bartender, Mattie, was rude in telling me and my girlfriend we couldn't stand at the bar, it's not what she said it's HOW she said it, which made us feel disrespected. Second, despite arriving on time for the reservation, we had to wait for more than 30 minutes before getting seated on a busy Friday night. Nevertheless, we had a good experience with bartender Lee Ann, who was friendly and made perfect drinks. The maître D, Michael, was professional and friendly and took notice of the earlier issue with Mattie. The waiter, Kevin, and his associate were also friendly and respectful, and Kevin apologized for Mattie's unprofessionalism. Overall, the restaurant received a rating of 9 out of 10.

A spectacular place, you have to book in advance because it is almost always packed... especially for dinner. We didn't have that much of a problem with food, but they have a full agenda from the day before. The incredible atmosphere, very elegant and the manager who attended to us treated us wonderfully. We had an excellent evening accompanied by a delicious Argentine red wine. Without a doubt, I would return.

It’s a shame that such a beautiful steakhouse had such subpar service and culinary skills. The wine was lovely, the bread appetizer was so good. The cornbread was on point. I couldn’t eat the mini bagel bread because it had garlic and the seasoned flat bread because of sesame. With that being said my husband’s food and our friend’s food seamed to come out perfect(both Caucasian male) surf and turf. But mine ( lamb medium well) came out burnt. My lamb came out over salted, burnt and dried as the Nevada desert. I only ate two of the six lolies and they still charged me even though I sent a full pallet back to the kitchen. They cleared out my husband and our friends plate but always left my dirty dishes. I had to ask our server to clear it out. Our server was Hispanic and because I’m brown, not Hispanic, they treated me as subpar, I had to constantly ask for my place to be cleared and my glass to be refilled. They sent me a key lime pie as an apology, I’m allergic, and acted as if I was an inconvenience even though I did my best to try not take up too much space.I would not recommend this place to women who are brown/ Latina. Because the stag are sexist and bigots.

We went for my birthday dinner and were somewhat underwhelmed. We had gone several years before and had a wonderful meal, but aside from the crabs, this occasion wasn't as great. Most of us ordered steak as our entree and while it was good, it was pretty basic. Not what we'd expect from a place with "Prime Steak" in their name and after the previous experience we'd had at the restaurant. In addition, the key lime pie seemed like it had just been taken from the freezer and some of our party had to wait until it thawed or they took it home to eat at a later time. Aside from that, the service and atmosphere were great and we enjoyed the company.

Went there upon my arrival in Washington from overseas. As seen with the eyes of a European, this is a typical Wash. restaurant : large with a good touch of luxury, although bit noisy and with that slightly odd style hard to define. They serve a very good food in US size quantities which is to say more than enough. Quite a good experience. Service was standard.

Dining at Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab presents an interesting dichotomy of experiences, blending impeccable culinary craftsmanship with a somewhat disconcerting service element. From the moment the dishes grace the table, it's clear that the kitchen staff holds a deep reverence for their craft. Each meal, without exception, is cooked to absolute perfection, showcasing a mastery over flavor, texture, and presentation that can only be described as a culinary ballet. The flavors are rich, the steak succulent, and the stone crab, a delicacy that lives up to its legendary reputation. The service, for the most part, mirrors the high quality of the food. Our server was the epitome of politeness and friendliness, navigating the nuances of fine dining service with ease and professionalism. They were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring a seamless dining experience that allows the food to take center stage. This level of service, unfortunately, was not uniformly experienced throughout our visit. The ambiance of Joe's strikes a pleasant balance between elegance and comfort, creating a dining environment that is both upscale and inviting. However, this welcoming atmosphere was somewhat marred by the behavior of the bussing staff. Throughout the meal, it became increasingly evident that their conduct did not align with the establishment's otherwise high standards. The feeling of being judged and scrutinized, as if one does not belong in such a refined setting, is disheartening. It detracts from the overall dining experience, fostering a sense of discomfort where there should be relaxation and enjoyment. The notion that one's age or appearance could affect the quality of service received is disconcerting, and not something one expects in a restaurant of this caliber.Despite this, recognizing the effort and skill put into the preparation of the meal, a 20% tip was left, a testament to the quality of the culinary experience and the professionalism of the serving staff. In conclusion, Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab excels in culinary execution and, for the most part, service. However, there is a clear need for improvement in how all staff members engage with guests to ensure a consistently welcoming and judgment-free dining experience.

#WashingtonDC #Joes_Seafood_Prime_Steak_and_Stone_Crab“Upscale American fine dining and the essence of Stone Crab”I enjoyed the Stone Crab on a previous trip to Las Vegas. We happened to have a branch in DC as well, so we decided to go there for our first dinner.#Joe's Seafood Prime Steak anad Stone CrabThis restaurant, which first opened in Miami in 1913, has a history of over 100 years. It started as a Stone Crab restaurant in Florida and is now an authentic American restaurant that serves seafood such as Crab, Oyster, and Shrimp, as well as Dri-Aged Steak. There are currently three branches in Chicago, Las Vegas, and DC (now, if you just go to Chicago, Joe's Seafood is a total conquest haha)#Stone_CrabIt is a crab caught in the southeastern United States and the Caribbean region. (It is a completely different type from the Korean stone crab.) Its shell is very hard, so it is given the name Stone Crab. In fact, the shell is so thick and hard that we can't imagine that it's not easy to crack it on your own (that's why you need a crab mallet). The meat of the claws is stronger than that of the body, so the claws are mainly eaten. It is said that there is a similar type called the European Royal Crab. What's interesting is that Joe's Seafood, the most famous Stone Crab restaurant in the United States, is the largest buyer of Stone Crab in the United States.#menuStone Crab, King Crab, Oyster, and Steak are the main menu items. The steak at this restaurant is delicious, but I mainly go there to eat the stone crab, and the king crab is also very delicious. As this restaurant started in Miami, <Key Lime Pie> is also their signature dessert menu.#atmosphereIt has the atmosphere of an authentic American high-end steakhouse. Although it has a classic interior and ushers, servers, and sommules all dressed in formal attire, the rustic atmosphere is a good MSG that will whet your appetite and excite you.In both Las Vegas and DC, 90% of the customers were white, but I didn't feel any discrimination against Asians at all, and in fact, they were very friendly. The atmosphere of DC is where the characteristics of a tourist destination and the feel of a big city coexist.#Royal_CrabIn the past, when I ate in Vegas, the only place I could eat was Stone Grab, but now a few years later, they also recommend Royal Crab, a European stone crab. He recommended that royal crab tastes the same as stone crab, but is larger and has more meat. So, I ordered 8 jumbo size royal crabs (beware that they are quite expensive as each one costs about $27). The royal crabs served were really big, as if they were jumbo size. The size of the claws, which are larger than a baby's fist, is truly overwhelming. They are easy to eat because the shell is broken open. For reference, Joe Seafood's crab cracking technique is the world's best (photos 1 and 2). When I ordered the same menu at Old Ebitt Grill, a nearby famous restaurant (see my review), the crab was not cracked very well, so it was very difficult to eat and I lost a lot of meat. Yes.The huge amount of meat was good, but the taste was a bit bland. It was disappointing that it tasted somewhat watery rather than the lightness and chewiness of the stone crab that was delicious before. However, this house’s special sauce makes up for that emptiness. The creamy, light and sour sauce gave new life to the once dry crab meat. For the jumbo size, 2 pieces per adult and for the large size, 3 pieces per adult is a reasonable amount. If you want to eat it as an appetizer, 1 piece per person would be enough.#KingCrab #King_Crab Even the king crab here is artistic. When I ate it in Vegas, the stone crab and king crab were equally delicious, but here, the king crab tastes much better due to the disappointment of the royal crab. In addition, the server specializing in crab disassembly dismantles the king crab in the eye and serves it to you, making the appearance and taste even more trustworthy.King crab is also highly recommended.#Oyster #OysterDC is famous for
