• Speed - 5/5Very quick. Ordering a vanilla matcha latte and a chocolate croissant, the wait-time was under three minutes.• Quality - 4/5High quality chocolate in a flaky croissant, which suffered lightly from having sat in a display case with no heating element ortoaster. The latte was hot, fluffy, and mellow. However, the matcha, while of good quality, was overpowered almost entirely by vanilla and the whole-milk itself due to its minimal presence (edit: still very mild matcha, but remember to stir! They offer you spoons!) It was still a delight. I enjoy that they do not pump their drinks full of sweetener as in other coffee places.• Atmosphere - 4/5Busy, small, but warm. Overlooks a large store from an isolated nook that stands right by the entrance. Clean and tidy. No electronics beeping, or shouting about orders. Minimal staff interaction. Still noisy.Great for a quick stop and idle conversation when in need of coffee and pastry, but not particularly memorable as a unique location of creative menu design or aesthetic. This is a convenient and pleasant location.Dietary restrictions: Offers various milks. Does not appear to heavily pre-sweeten drinks, but do ask.Kid-friendliness: While very crowded, kids can come in and enjoy options like muffins and hot chocolate.

Love their ham and cheese croissant. Also like their draft coffee options and it's very straightforward taste when it's coming to coffee itself. Service is great as they provided some reasonable accommodation tools to communicate! Drawing board to make our orders was a plus and makes our interactions friendly and easy. The staff were very friendly as well. Nice to hop into a cafe after window shopping at REI.

$5 for a hot chocolate that tastes horrible. It’s steamed milk with chocolate syrup. The employees didn’t say a word. I felt like I was in Seattle. The REI store was nice and the employees were friendly.

Nice spot to take a break and imagine which electric REI bike you’d like to buy. Butter and an appliance to heat their yummy scones would make this 5 stars.

Cozy coffee shop tucked in the corner of an REI retail store. Fast free wifi available for work/study. Friendly baristas were easy to talk to and provided a welcoming atmosphere. Coffee was delicious. They had a few different options that all seemed distinct.

Do not visit La Colombe if you are looking for a place that sells lightly-roasted, single origin coffee. I purchased a bag of one of their light roast single origin coffees and what I received was a bag of beans with such a dark roast that Starbucks would be jealous. The coffee made with these beans was extremely bitter and lacking in flavor as could be expected with a dark roast. With so many excellent coffee shops in DC, please do yourself a favor and visit any of them instead of La Colombe.

I walked in and the cashier had a super weird attitude. I literally changed my mind about having coffee there and opted for coffee and a donut at Dunkins haha. You never really appreciate good service until you get bad service. Guy was probably just having a bad day.

This is inside the REI, with a view of the registers from a huge window. Obviously La Colombe is known for the draft iced lattes but I would recommend anything here from them. Their coffee tends to be on the more acidic side in my experience, which is why the smooth and mellow draft latte works so well to balance that out. I got an oatmilk vanilla draft latte and I believe my partner got a hot oatmilk latte. Their simple syrup is made with brown or semi brown sugar, which is great because brown sugar adds another excellent depth to the flavor. It's a very cute spot but not very large. Limited seating and one single stall bathroom. That being said, very walkable area so go for picking up coffee after doing something nearby.Dietary restrictions: Oat milk latte available

Buy these at the grocery store frequently and I've been meaning to swing through. Did not disappoint.

In an area of many coffee shops, La Colombe is one of the very best of them. Extra points for opening early.

It's 2pm and we got an eye roll for ordering a pour over, told it would take 10 minutes, and then we asked if they were closing early bc we aren't heathens, we can adjust our order if you're closing early. Turns out they are just grumpy. Good coffee and not so great service.

One of my favorite places to get a decent chai and they always have a nice drip coffee rotating. Nice staff and good vibes makes this my solid go-to coffee spot in the area.
