I am an artist with almost a decade of experience showing my work publicly in galleries and have participated in 20 group and solo exhibitions and have been impressed by Latela's team professionalism and high quality work. Between April 2022 and July 2022 Latela Curatorial hosted an exhibition of my work in the Silva Gallery and from art selection and curation to the art hanging, from the exhibition materials to the wonderful opening reception everything was professionally done, beautiful and successful. Marta, the owner, is a wealth of knowledge of the art scene so she also puts together great group shows annually and is a great connector of artists, curators, collectors and clients. I would strongly recommend Latela Curatorial to artists, collectors and real estate clients in the Washington, DC region and beyond!

We are new collectors of art and by chance had the opportunity to work with Marta at Latela Curatorial on the acquisition of a piece by Charles Jean-Pierre after seeing it at The Silva Gallery. Marta was so easy to work with and approachable. She took away any anxiety I had about such a large and personal investment. I had no idea what to expect when I first reached out and I was very impressed with her knowledge of the artist and his works and the buying process. She was able to answer all of my questions and provide me with information I didn't even know I wanted or needed! She even went above and beyond to arrange a time for me to meet Charles and visit his studio to pick up the painting, which was truly unforgettable. I will absolutely work with Marta and Latela Curatorial again should the opportunity arise!

I highly recommend receiving 1:1 counseling and advice from Marta at Latela Curatorial. I received advice on my job interviewing skills, my artistic practice as a whole, and Marta was able to help me realize my long term goals as a practicing artist. I also realized my artistic approach is unique and my art doesn't necessarily fit in a typical gallery. After receiving this counseling and guidance from Marta I later landed a teaching job on the spot and a solo show in Baltimore which turned out to be a huge success. Thanks Marta!

The Curatorial Apprenticeship program with Marta has been transformative for my career goals and growth as an artist.
The program accommodates varying levels of experience, and its structured curriculum covered topics from curatorial history and art history to practices like exhibition planning, art consulting, and gallery management while still allowing flexibility to tailor projects to my interests.
Marta's individualized guidance helped me gain practical skills and encouraged me to develop my artistic vision and creative voice through conceptual projects.
Overall, Marta is an invaluable mentor and I recommend her services without reservation. This apprenticeship has equipped me with the knowledge and confidence to grow as a curator and define myself as an artist.

I have worked with Latela Curatorial and Marta since 2019, and in a variety of ways. As part of their mission to promote local artists, Latela was able to procure two of my sculptures for a upscale multi-unit residential collection. During the pandemic, my work was included in multiple online exhibitions through Latela, integral to my continued success.In late 2020, I joined the Artist Being & Business cohort. This was a transformative step on my journey from emerging to mid-career artist. Beyond the practical business acumen an artist must acquire, this course gave me a better understanding of my creative beliefs, historical context, and energetic requirements. I wish I had been able to take this course 10 years earlier in my practice, as I believe it would have set me up for greater success and more confident decision making.

My first "art world" job was at Latela many years ago! And I can honestly say it was one of the best opportunities I've had. I took the Artist Course that Latela offers at a time when I really needed some direction in my art practice, particularly to procure grants and with their guidance I have been awarded many grants since. Marta is extremely knowledgeable and amazing at what she does, highly recommend this course to artists who want to grow!

I’ve work with and purchased from Latela and I cannot recommend them more! Marta and her team are fantastic. They provide amazing advisement, curatorial services and commissions for whatever your art needs art. They have rotating exhibitions for local buyers (such as myself! I have a few Latela pieces I love) or even working with businesses to develop art collections for the business office etc. Marta is warm, kind, knowledgeable and comes with a wealth of experience. You will be in great hands!!
