“After waking up with a killer back-aches every morning for the past few months, we decided it was time for a new mattress. The old one was about 8 years old, the age when they say it's about had it, anyway. Buying a mattress is a bit like buying a new car- you only do it every few years, and a lot changes in the interim, so I had checked out the ratings with Consumer's Reports. Problem is, there are so many new brands and types of mattresses on the market, it's difficult to do apples to apples comparisons. We decided to go to the closest place, Mattress Warehouse, in Tenleytown. We were met by Fatima, who was very friendly and helpful, having us first use their evaluator device, which is supposed to ascertain the optimal fit for you. Fatima showed us numerous mattresses, based on our needs. She was nice enough to provide us with sanitary coverings to lie on, as these mattresses have been used a lot and tend to get a bit grungy. Fatima also introduced us to Mr. Clarence, the manager, who was also friendly and helpful, while not being pushy and trying to force us to decide right away.We looked at several models and price points, some of which, while nice, were quite a bit above our budget. Note: let them know what your budget is, and they won't waste your (and their) time showing things above it. Our issue: I am always cold and side sleep, husband is hot and sleeps on his stomach. So we wanted to stay away from memory foam, and unfortunately, some of the others we were curious about have separate sales outlets and run into the thousands of dollars- too, too much. After a lot of try outs and head scratching, we took a break for lunch to mull over our options and make a decision. We did stop by the other big chain, (Mattress Firm) and their selection wasn't impressive. We came back to the store and Fatima wrote up our sale, and Mr. Clarence offered us a free cooling pillow, to go with the one purchased for my "hot headed" hubs.All in all, we had a positive experience in the store, and our new mattress arrived this morning, delivered by two guys who were in and out in 60 seconds, taking the old mattress with them. Note: Show the delivery guys a little love with a tip- lugging mattresses around all day is hard work.It remains yet to be seen if we made the right choice. I'll post an update after we've had a week or two to try the new mattress out.”

“Sean was excellent. Very knowledgeable as was his coworker. The problem with that store is you need a store front With a bigger sign. Other than that the price was good as was the transaction. The one day delivery, was some thing I didn’t expect. I am looking forward to tomorrow night. Finally a good nights sleep”

“Expensive but after 3 years of recurrent back and hip pain, my aches/pains resolved after one night on my Dux mattress. The store was opened by appointment for us, the sales manager contacted us by email and the team drove from New Jersey to deliver our bed (they put it together, and removed the trash). Because we don't live in DC the bed was tax free and the delivery was also free. Also, we were able to get the bed on sale.”

“My wife and I visited the Georgetown store on January 20. It’s accessible from M Street but the Cady’s Alley entrance takes you directly into the store. We scheduled an appointment and were met by Amina, our host. We were interested in testing the Avocado Green mattress that Consumer Reports (Feb 2023) rated as the best innerspring mattress on the market. Amina took us to a room with three different styles of mattress: basic (firmness 7), basic with two different type toppers (firmness 5-6), and basic with pillow top (firmness 5). Our host gave us a brief introduction and left us to our testing. With spa-like music playing in the background, we had full freedom to move back and forth from bed-to-bed-to-bed. The basic mattress was quite comfortable. I liked the idea that if I wanted a bit more softness on my side, I could later add a topper. Amina answered all our questions, AND there was no sales pressure. I cannot believe I’m saying this, but the experience was enjoyable. Two days later, we ordered the basic mattress with white-glove delivery service. It’s worth the drive into DC to test for yourself. Fortunately, there is a pay surface parking lot only a block away.”

“I was buying a condo in Silver Spring, Maryland and needed furniture. I budgeted $10,000 for furniture, area rugs, TV, printer, Vitamix blender and kitchen stuff, not appliances. We needed Living Room, Dining Room, Office and Bedroom. I first called Basset, sent them a floor plan and told them what I had budgeted. The next day I get an email telling me that she had done the dining room set and rug. The dining room set was just under $4,000 and the rug was $2,500. 2/3 of my budget for one room? Clearly not the place for me. I found Casa Furniture online, the prices are very reasonable and I furnished the whole place for the budget I figured. The best part is that they delivered and set it all up and put everything in place. Just as important, everything is very well made and looks amazing. I could not have been happier.”
