Maxwell Park is a wine bar in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood with a seriously extensive wine program, featuring 50 wines by the glass and over 500 by the bottle. It is arguably the best wine bar in the city, with an incredible and reasonable selection that includes interesting effervescent and insular wines. Great energy radiates throughout, supported by a remarkably kind, knowledgeable, and straight-shooting staff that makes the atmosphere welcoming and approachable. With cutesy decor, it is a favorite for date night, happy hour with friends, special occasions, and private events.
Awesome selection -- I always try something new/exciting, and everyone working here makes the experience approachable and fun.

Cutesy decor, knowledgeable and straight-shooting (mostly sommelier) staff.
Really interesting effervescent and insular wines.
What happened to the miso clam dish from a while ago? It was perfect!

Arguably the best wine bar in the city. I always ask for recommendations from the staff, and they never steer me wrong. I recently sent the wine list to an out-of- town friend who’s a wine journalist and who is passionate about natural wine, and she was FLOORED by the line up and how reasonable the prices were.
