Mia Gemma has both beautiful jewelry and amazing customer service. With less than a week until our wedding, I still hadn't found earrings/gifts for my bridesmaids. I contacted Mia Gemma and Irene helped me find a beautiful and unique pair of earrings that was just right for their dresses, their taste, and the aesthetic of the wedding. Everyone loved them. Irene was so understanding of my last minute time frame and rushed the order. She arranged for me to pick them up at the nearby home of a Mia Gemma colleague (Lynn) who wrapped them beautifully and even gave me a card and small gift to celebrate our wedding. The earrings were just lovely and Irene and Lynn were so kind and helpful. This was my first time working with Mia Gemma and definitely not my last. Thank you so much!

I've been a Mia Gemma client for years, both ready-to-wear and custom pieces. I love participating in the gem roundtables, selecting unusual stones and collaborating in the design with Irene's cohort of gold- and silversmiths. All of the pieces are high quality and so wearable.

The red garnet earrings are of spectacular design and exquisite color. They can be worn with formal clothes, particularly nice with black, or casual clothing to dress things up. The workmanship and design of these earrings are excellent.

The most precious jewelry I own is designed by Mia Gemma. Whether the pieces are off the shelf purchases from talented artists or custom designed pieces, each one holds a special place. Encouraged by Irene to rethink what I have in my jewelry box and never wear, the fabulous team of Mia Gemma assisted me in crafting jewelry that is not only a one of a kind but includes family heirloom and early stones which we transformed into modern meaningful rings and necklaces which I will treasure forever. And what is better than that!

Mia Gemma resized my wedding ring a few years ago. I was looking for someone to create a bracelet for me and I contacted Irene again. I am so glad I did. The process was easy and my bracelet is perfect. The price was also reasonable. I would highly recommend Mia Gemma!

I recently purchased an engagement ring from Mia Gemma and couldn't have been happier! Irene was so helpful in guiding my partner and I through the process. She quickly identified the style that we were interested in and gave plenty of great recommendations. Mia Gemma has a particularly impressive collection of the unique pieces from local and independent artists. We ended up with a beautiful orange sapphire ring that fit us perfectly. We will be back for our wedding bands!

Mia Gemma means " My Gem" in Italian. This store, and its owner Irene Barbieri are true gems! I give it five stars made of 24 karet gold and diamonds! I had a sentimental antique ring given to me on my 18th birthday, by my mother, which I cherished, and wore all my life. I'm now retirement age. . . One day I noticed that the beautiful blue sapphire central stone , which was surrounded by small diamonds fell out and was lost. I felt terrible, I brought it to a highly recommended jeweler, who botched the whole repair. It came back with an ugly black looking smaller stone and the mounting had been changed and flattened. On a business trip to Washington, I called Mia Jemma, not only because it had excellent reviews online --- but it sounded like a small, intimate store that emphasized customer service and personal design. Irene , the owner immediately answered the phone with her kind, gentle voice, listened to my story, and told me to come in.When I arrived, she understood exactly my feelings and special the attachment to this ring . She treated me with utmost patience, sensitivity and care. I could tell she loves her work and is passionate about it. I immediately felt I could trust her with my ring, and leave it with her in Washington to be fixed. I was right. She immediately set about working hard to find the right stone and color, and have it remounted correctly. She sent me photos throughout the process for my consideration and approval. I felt that that she was as dedicated to getting it repaired correctly as if it had been her own precious possession. I just received the ring back today. I am thrilled with its restored beauty, the way it glistens and shines, and the feeling of reconnection with the love that went into it when it was given to me by my mother so many years ago... Especially since my mother is no longer alive. I have Irene to thank for all of this. I can't imagine anyone, anywhere, doing it any better, or doing it with such love and care. Irene, her store, and her network of suppliers and repair people are indeed jems. Susan H

We went to Irene with a request for a very rare and unique stone (a pear-cut blue moissanite in a very specific size). When we talked with her, the stone and ring we wanted were just our imagination. We’d been shopping for months and not found anything close to it, even online. But Irene and her team smiled and said leave it to us! They literally searched the world for us, shipping in stones from different places to inspect them and never giving up the search when what came in wasn’t up to Irene’s very high standards for Mia Gemma creations. They ended up finding our stone in India! We had the opportunity to see the stone and fall in love with it, and then Irene sent it to one of the talented artists at Mia Gemma who created a setting for it from scratch, exactly to our specifications. The Mia Gemma team took a ring straight out of our imagination and made it real. Now not only do I have the engagement ring of my dreams, I know that, thanks to Mia Gemma, no one else is ever going to have a ring like mine. Thank you so much for everything, Mia Gemma!

Mia Gemma is the best Jeweler in DCA. They provide personal, individual designs, always meeting my high expectations with my taste in jewelry. I would highly recommend Mia Gemma for wedding rings and personal designs. I enjoyed their Jewelry events...
