It is a small store compared to most of the others. Lacks cleanliness and customer service.

We did a lot of framing jobs with the store and the quality decreased drastically over the years. The last framing was not an exception. Looking back on the experience, I should have asked for the manager from the beginning, but I was trying to be nice to the associate who clearly didn't know what she was doing. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!!!Just picked up the finished product and it had the wrong hanging system, which we specifically requested with the same associate. They changed it to a correct system in 5 mins wit's additional holes in the expensive frame. When I indicated that I want the frame remade, I was told NO. Only manager could authorize that and he/she is never in the store so I had to come back. When I said that we specifically indicated the hanging system with the associate standing in front of us, we were told that they have a lot of new associates and they are still in training. Since they didn't have that request in the system, what can I do?As a result, I spent $350 on a frame, got blamed for the associate mistake, and have a frame with unnecessary HOLES!!!Do not go to this location for framing and choose another one or completely different chain!!!

the service was terrible. I came around 7 and it was empty i was grabbing some yarn then tried to check out and the lady was rude and snarky the whole time because i didn’t wait in a nonexistent line. She acted like i was stupid and rolled her eyes. I apologized that i didn’t wait to be called but she then got angry again when i didn’t put my michaels card in right away. Awful service will not come again.

3rd time it's let me order on the app only to get there and they can't find or dont have what I ordered. Maybe they can fix whatever so if it's not there, then you can't order, pay, and go get it only to be told "sorry, it's not available." Otherwise I would not have wasted half my day.

If you want friendly service, go to the Michael's on Rockville Pike. I approached a store associate and in a kind voice said "Excuse me, do you know where I can find stamps with letters?" Perfectly normal way to ask for help. Her response was "hi, how are you?" in a sassy voice. I assumed she didn't hear me properly. I reply, "I am good, thanks. Do you know if you have the stamps in talking about?" Again, she said "hi, how are you?" I said "I am good..? Do you know where the stamps are?" And once again she said "hi, how are you?" Now I knew really what she wanted. I said "hi, how are you? Do you have the stamps I'm talking about," and with an extreme amount of attitude she just pointed and said "look over there." I told her her attitude was very rude. She wanted a "hi, how are you?" before helping a customer but when helping the customer was STILL rude. Just go to a different Michael's. There all over the place in this area. I put the items I had planned to buy there back and went to the other Michael's where the customer service was outstanding and no store associate required me to say "hi how are you?" in order to receive assistance. Her attitude lost the store a loyal customer and a great deal of money as I had a large basket full of items to purchase. The manager ensured me that he would be talking to her but that generally means nothing.

Always love this location ... never too crowded and the store is well organized. Love their 40%off and the secret clearance section in the back. All sorts of treasures!

Found exactly what we needed here- kid paints , beading materials, ribbons and Easter wreath materials. Store is large and has lots of stuff. I didn't see fabric but lots of art supplies and friendly helpful staff.

D.C. isn't a chain store kind of a town, so I was surprised to see a Michaels open up in Friendship Heights. Yasss! This means no more trips to the suburban locations, people!Unlike the stores in the burbs, this location is smaller and the selection is limited. However, the selection in the art supplies department here is decent. You can find everything from drawing pads to artist canvas to painting supplies. Also, this location is possibly home to the largest Sharpie pen collection in the city. Ok, I'm exaggerating just a tad bit! But, this Sharpie collection is epic!Special mention: If scrapbooking or food crafting is your jam, this Michaels has you covered. Need same day framing? Make a beeline to their custom framing department. Looking for party supplies or seasonal decor? Michaels has those, too. FYI: Yours truly snagged a few items for Valentine's Day at 40% off! Sweet!Side note: Hate to be a negative Nancy, but this location needs to tighten up on the housekeeping duties. Floors surrounding the checkout area looked grimy. Next to the hand sanitizing station, there were used hand wipes scattered all over the floor. Ugh!On a good note, customer service at checkout was friendly and efficient. Team members were masked up and the checkout counters are surrounded by plexiglass. Noticed lots of signage to encourage social distancing.

I had a wonderful experience with custom framing at the Aaron Brothers in Michaels located on Wisconsin Avenue in Washington, DC. I initially consulted with Santita and DJ completed my framing. They are both very knowledgeable with the entire framing process and assisted with the design process. I had 5 pieces completed and in the process of commissioning new work with them. The pieces they completed turned out absolutely perfect. I highly recommend them!
