Such a convenient location, luggage storage around the corner as well. Tasteful, cozy rooms. Beds, pillows and linens were honestly the best I have experienced at a hotel. Lovely staff. Tiny and scary elevators but the building really is charming.

This hotel was recommended to us by our travel agent and what a brilliant choice it was.Much smaller than many other city hotels I've stayed in before but this meant that you weren't constantly queuing to use lifts or speak to somebody at reception. We were greeted at the front door as soon as we arrived, our bags taken as we checked in and shown to our room in a way that you'd only expect from a hotel 3x the price. The facilities were fantastic. The TV was actually just a TV without all the horrible hotel menus, every single channel actually worked and was clear, something which isn't always true in hotels. The shower was huge and had both the standard shower head as well as a large square one from the top.The bed was huge, clean, comfortable and the room itself had plenty of room to move about.Downstairs there is a bar/restaurant attached called The Dubliner and although this is an extra cost, we were told that hotel guests were given priority. We stayed during St Patricks day when they were exceptionally busy but were still offered a seat as hotel guests. They also had a lot of entertainment on from the morning to the late night to celebrate although this didn't disrupt us when in hotel room. The only bad thing I can say about the Phoenix Park Hotel is that the location leaves it open to the harassment from the homeless people living around the train station. Although they mostly stay away, on a few occasions they came towards the hotel to beg for change or food from people outside smoking or waiting for taxis. The man on the door did however do a very good job of sending them away before they became a big problem.Safety: Felt perfectly safe the whole time.Security do an excellent job without being overbearingWalkability: Very close to train station which has both Amtrak and metro trains.10 minute walk to the Capitol building.15 minute walk to Walmart.Food & drinks: On site bar & restaurant.

This is my second time visiting Washington D.C. this year I stayed in a different hotel. my stay in this hotel was relaxing and quiet. They have a coffee machine that serves different kinds of coffee, I love the vanilla shots and vanilla latte, whenever I wanted something to eat, I would visit a bar that is right next to the hotel called the Dubliner, they have an amazing dish, the chicken pot pie, I highly recommend it. Everything is at a walking distance, starting from the State Capital, which is right down the street from the hotel, from there you end up at the Lincoln Memorial, if you want to explore a little further, you can visit the Arlington Cemetery. This hotel is perfect for vacations. the only thing this hotel doesn't have (to my surprise) is a bar of soap for showering, good thing I brought my own just in case.Rooms: big windows, a couch to sit, big bed, and a great closet to hang your clothes.Walkability: everything from State Capital to the Arlington Cemetery.Food & drinks: The Dubliner is perfect for drinks and food, I highly recommend the chicken pot pie.

It has been a pleasure staying here for the week. The room has been left immaculate by the housekeeping services every day. No problems at all sleeping during the night in the comfortable bed. This hotel is so centrally located in this city, I didn't need a car at all. My stay could not have been better. I will keep my eye out for sales, so I can book a room again in the future. Thank you.
