This place has really gon down hill since Bozzuto took over.. a lot of issues with water and hvac. They have soo many ppl walkin into the building without access and follow others to the elevator or concierge jus lets them on the elevator… this building was brand new when I became a resident and now I’m counting down the days til I can move …

They need to just make this place subsidized housing for affordable living because that’s 90% of the residents here. It’s unsafe. So many stragglers from the street enter the building and follow residents into elevators to get off after them and access floors by the stairwell. Happens to me all the time. The security just chats at the front desk. The security and concierge open the doors for anyone at the door. Random people are ALWAYS sitting in front of the building smoking and playing loud music. Some people pay $3k/mo for rent and you can clearly tell that most of the building pays a fraction per month. But the affordable living residents take up the amenities in the rudest ways possible. The elevators are always broken. Don’t move here. The police are onsite regularly for escalated residents issues. This is the projects.

This is the worst apartment building I’ve ever lived in. The total disregard that people pay their hard earn money to live here is outrageous. A one bedroom here is 2500+ and I feel like I live in the projects some days. Here is a list of reasons why you shouldn’t live here:
- stolen and lost packages
- newly instituted HVAC charge that adds $100 to rent
- horrible security
- unhoused sleeping in lounges
- kids in gym
- broken grills
- apartments smell like smoke due to building inability to control residents
- attempted break ins
- water shut offs
- trash room is disgusting
- urine in the elevators
- dog poop on carpets
- the office picks and chooses what they charge tenants for parking garage fees
The only good thing is the maintenance and front desk works are kind. The maintenance workers are great. They are timely, efficient and kind. By far the best maintenance team I’ve had at an apartment. In particular Arthur is exceptional. He handles all of my maintenance requests with such professionalism. He completes them in a timely manner, and most importantly always fixes the issue the first time!

Have lived here for two months and wish that I had picked somewhere else already. My floor always smells awful, to the point that when I have guests over they comment on the smell, and I often feel unsafe coming into the building (although the concierge staff is lovely).
Additionally, my move in process was awful. On move in day the freight elevator was broken and I was given no notice, and there was an issue locating my keys. I was not given a move in package so I had to badger the leasing office to figure out how to get access to the wifi, package system, (I still haven’t received the key to my mail locker) etc. and when the person I was working with in the leasing office quit I was given no notice. I was directing all my questions to him over email because the leasing office never answers the phone, and is never there
Overall, this place is not worth the cost and I would recommend finding somewhere else to live

UPDATE: My partner had a phone delivered here. They said that they turned it away because the company put the wrong name on the phone. He went downstairs to check again this morning. IT WAS SITTING AT THE OFFICE DESK ALL NIGHT. Randy is too good for this place, so thank you to him for getting the package to my partner this morning.
I’ve lived here 3 years and had so many packages that tracked as delivered go missing, and I always assumed it was an issue with UPS or FedEx. Now, I’m wondering if they’ve just sat at the desk even when I would ask if they were delivered and been told no.
This is a horrible place to live. When tenants make requests and or voice complaints to the building, we are punished for it. People go without heat in the winter, without AC in summer, without water for WEEKS, and many tenants don’t feel safe.
That pool they have? You’ll never be able to use it. The amenities they charge a premium for? You will be chased out by 10 pm even when they close at 11. We had to argue with security for a NYE party.
UPDATE: Ignore the reply to this review. Plenty have people have been contacting management about the broken grills on the roof since I moved in (2021) and they still don’t work. Maybe start there, guys!

I was born in DC and have never in my life seen such a poorly run building. HVAC never works, homeless people roam the hallways and assault tenants, staff is never there, water is constantly shut off, residents are constantly fighting. I’ve lived in many apartments and have never seen a building as bad as this one.

There’s always homeless people getting into the building. Police have to come regularly, concierge is useless

I can assure you that you will have a much better living experience literally anywhere else but Press House. This building did not have ac/heat for 5 months through the building and no hot water for 2 months (which yes is highly illegal but they are managed by a big company). Many are currently without any power. If you are a woman (or man honestly) there have been several assaults in the building, please be safe and live elsewhere, it is not worth your life.
We just had a severe fire and only a few units had a fire alarm go off (again it was a huge fire) Truely a nightmare. Leasing office is actually open more like 2-3 fyi, they are never there.

I am a tenant at the Press House located at 331 N. NE, Washington, DC. I have been here two years now and let me convey to you the wonderful job Marvin is doing. He always takes the time out to help the residents here at the Press House, especially the elderly and disable. In so much he goes beyond his duties to see if you are well taken care of as a resident at the Press House. No matter what he is doing he seems to assist you with any problem or issue you have. Moreover he has great patience and concern. He is a big cornerstone that makes the day to day operations here at the Press House run smoothly and efficiently. I would highly recommend Marvin for a pay raise and /or any higher position he can obtain I am sure he deserves it.Your SincerelyYusuf A. Rahman

When I arrived at the Press House to assist my daughter in transferring to a larger apartment, I would like to note the professionalism of Mr. Dunno and his office staff. Also, Mike and his maintenance team were quick and efficient in responding to my daughter's needs and fixed everything in a timely manner. Overall, the Press House has a great staff and they truly care about their tenants.
