Lied to by customer service multiple times. Lack of transparency. I’ve had the service for 2 weeks and it’s been out for 2 days. Thinking verizon is worth the extra cost and will begin to look at switching

Internet service was fine, rates increased substantially after initial year offer. When I changed providers they provided a label to return equipment and I shipped through FedEX and confirmed delivery. 3 weeks later Astound charged my credit card $100 for not returning the equipment which was shown as delivered as far as I could see. Bad business practices, would recommend other providers whenever possible.

Do not use them. I signed up for the $20 plan I never received I $20 bill it was always more. Then they cut my service off without my knowledge and charged me for a un returned modem I wasn’t aware needed to be returned.when I call to see about my bill I get a rude lady that didn’t even bother to look my account up she just kept asking was i going to make a payment or what. That was not professional and I will never recommend them

So I was forced to come to RCN after having Comcast for years. I absolutely loved my Comcast and didn’t have any complaints. My building forced us to switch over and RCN was the only option. I had a total of 4 technicians come out and one 1 made sure the wifi worked. The other 3 told me that i could only connect 1 device at a time or stated i set it up I’m not making sure it works. Crazy! So for the first two weeks having RCN i didn’t have WiFi. Then the rep that we had to go through to get service promised me things that did not happen. Two free months and the set price every month. Didn’t get either or! I am so confused on what type of company y’all are running. Why do i have to have 3 devices just to have wifi. With Comcast i only had one device. I have to hardwire the wifi to the tv because it has a hard time connecting to a smart tv. I’ve never had to go through this. I am completely disappointed and dissatisfied. I am soooo mad we had to switch to RCN. I can’t wait to move!!!!!

Worst computer ever. Internet went down two or three times a month. After so many service calls they said I had to pay 79.95 for them to come out.

Would highly HIGHLY recommend this company! The services were SO MUCH cheaper than Xfinity, and the internet I'm receiving is excellent. Also, the installation was a breeze - Carcia, the representative who helped me, was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive and kind.

I have been with Astound Broadband (RCN) a couple of years and it has been the worst company I have been in a relationship with! The hiding fees, the spotty internet service, the rude customer service representative - I just couldn’t take it anymore - I cancelled my service and went with another provider and then the customer service rep - rudely said return our equipment within seven days and then hung up on me, lol! Then, I received an email from a Monique F a few hours later stating that they valued my service and if I’m not satisfied with my current provider, they she could workout a good deal if I return to Astound Broadband, I would never!

Got in, got things done, got out. Easy access to the metro. Overall, way better service than Comcast. They are still a cable company, but better than the alternative.

After four years of Astound Broadband, my basic Internet service more than doubled. When they tried to raise my fees an additional 29% without properly notifying me, I cut off my service. They wanted approximately $100 for Internet home service (no high speed, just basic service), no cable. Astound Broadband then said I would be charged an additional month fee even though I had ended my service before the next pay period. Customer service said that I would be refunded my money in full since they already took the money out of my account. Instead, they sent me a threatening letter, saying they were going to report me to a credit agency and forward my information to a collection agency because I had my bank freeze the payment after I was told they would not refund my money. Here is the deal: if you want to be told a lie and then threatened, experience constant consumer price gouging, and be mistreated despite your loyalty, then Astound Broadband is your company. For all others, for your own sake, please join a better cable/Internet company that does business fairly and treats you right.

Update: bumping from 1 star to 3 because of difficulty getting in touch with customer service to have my speed errors diagnosed. They were able to get a technician out within 24 hours once I finally got through and he was able to quickly resolve. MPBS download still not hitting 300, but 200-225 is still significantly better than the 50 I was hitting before.I’ve not had my internet services for a month and connection and reliability is absolutely terrible. My MBPS constantly tests at a much slower rate than the 300 I’m paying for, internet is spotty and randomly goes down, and no communications are made about outages-you can only find out by calling and not being put through to anyone because of said outage. As someone who works from home and relies on high speed internet to do my job, the service here does not make me want to stay.

This has been the worst experience I have ever had with cable and internet. I had RCN cable and internet installed on 1/30 and within the first thirty days I had major issues. I placed ten service calls and had four technicians come out on various occasions. The first technician that installed the cable disconnected, cut phone lines and removed everything required for my telephone service to work. Told me to throw the equipment in the trash or return it to the leasing office. When it was time for Verizon to connect my telephone services; we discovered that the equipment should never have been removed because it had nothing to do with what the RCN tech had to do.The internet services continued to drop connection and spiral while there weren't but four devices connected. I had the top of the line broadband ( supposedly) and it wasn't working. The television connection continued to stop or drop while you were watching television. The information provided wasn't consistent. Told that I was locked into a two year contract (not true). I had the services disconnected and went with another carrier. Best decision ever. The cost is less and the package is better. This company will not remain in business long if they don't improve the quality of their products and services immediately.Please do not send me one of those begging responses. I don't consider those messages as caring nor concerned. The owner or management can care less about improvement of business and services. They have yet to see a major lost in overhead from my stand point.

I'm forced to give Astound/RCN 1 ⭐. This has been pure garbage. Their service is the absolute worse since it became Astound. It was getting bad already, no it's horrible. Their fees are made up as they go along, the fees never add up.I'm definitely contacting Consumer Finance Protection Bureau about them. I want something done about this company ASAP and I won't stop until I see results. They are a ripoff.

They will not pay technicians on the weekend to fix any problems, if you enjoy not having wifi for extended periods of time and paying 60 plus for it then RCN is your choice! But it will never be mine again!Is there any way I can give you guys zero stars?
