One of the worst pharmacies I’ve ever had to deal with as a prescriber. The pharmacist was argumentative. I was sending a prescription for an antibiotic for my partners acne. They submitted to the insurance company that has failed when it was not when I tried to fix the situation He was getting rude and argumentative. I will not be sending any more prescription prescriptions to Safeway and I will encourage my patients to find other pharmacies as well.

Very small store for downtown DC.

Very, very slow to fill prescriptions (takes them multiple days to fill most prescriptions) and apparently they don’t maintain a stock of common prescription medicine. My doctor and I actually caught one pharmacist there lying about not receiving a prescription order; the pharmacist basically doesn’t want to work and hides behind the counter to avoid customers. Read the other reviews below to see this is an ongoing problem with this location. They also never answer their phone.

I wish the pharmacists would be more helpful and give more than 3 word answers to important questions they should know the answers to.

If you’re looking to receive any sort of vaccination, move on to a different location. I tried to go in for a walk in vaccine and the pharmacist could not have been less helpful. He started by telling me that my insurance had been terminated, which was quickly disproved after I got on the phone with my insurer. He was rude, did not explain anything, and kept telling me my insurance had been terminated. The agent I was on the phone with at one point overheard the conversation and told me that the pharmacist was 100% doing something wrong, apologized for the inconvenience, and encouraged me to go to a Walgreens or a CVS.

Pharmacists are pompous and need an attitude adjustment. Service is very slow. I only go there because of the coupon discount.

Has been saying my medication would be available "tomorrow afternoon".... for each of the last four days. They're obviously never going to fill it, and they won't even tell me why. It's not even a controlled substance! Absolutely horrible, horrible service.

Safeway is my frenemy. The location is convenient. I walk by the store more often than I check in. I don't always feel the love at this location, but I keep returning so, there you go. The store has free 90 minute parking. There is an Amazon locker on the lower level of the parking garage. My visits are either great or disappointing. The location is the reason I keep coming back. I am guessing that staff shortages or not wanting to hire lots of people are the main reasons there are rarely more than one or two registers with humans. The self checkout area was doubled. I usually have a glitch when I use the self check out. I can't quickly get resolution. If I really want the item after not wanting to wait longer at self checkout, I will move to the regular line. I frequently see two employees chatting near a register, just not at a register. If you can deal with the spotty cell service in the store, registering for Safeways coupons can save money and make the other pesty issues worth it. Sometimes, you will have to buy two or four items to receive the savings. This location is downtown. There are frequently odd characters standing outside (or inside) the store. I am not sure the actual role of the security guards, other than standing around. I have never seen a guard intervene or be proactive in asking someone to leave (drunk person, someone clearly not shopping). I rarely see an employee on the floor if I need help. The seafood team are the nicest in the store. The deli staff are either enthusiastic or reluctant to help me. However, the Amazon locker is on my way back to my car and that means I don't have to worry about my package being stolen. Win-win. Make sure you bring your parking ticket with you for validation.

I had good experiences with the two pharmacists at this store. They were helpful, professional and a joy to work with.

Horrible. Horrible. horrible customer service. Some evil b**** walks up behind me and says "are you turning that in? " about the rug doctor I had rented the previous day. I had to ask if she worked here. I did not see a badge or a uniform. I didn't know if she was a burglar or what. She rolls her eyes and says "yes," nastily. The little validation machine in addition would not let me out of the garage and the attendant told me I was double stamped. Well I guess if no one tells me how to use their stupid machine that could happen. Yuck.
