If I could rate this store below a one star I would. The manager was disgustingly rude, I asked her were there any available bathrooms because the 1 stall that is available for the whole store was DISGUSTING!! Poop everywhere, urine everywhere, no napkins. Feces were on the toilet paper. My question is, if there are no bathrooms available, how are the employees washing their hands properly?? I cannot believe a manager was so rude at a Safeway, especially at this location. I’m so disappointed and taken aback by the lack of customer service. Thursday February 1st was the evening that I crossed the person that makes me feel comfortable shopping here. Such a shame. This part is an edit: because I’m thinking of calling corporate. I’m really beyond offended by being treated so nastily, especially when I was kind and obviously in distress. And to be treated so nasty and greeted with energy like that makes me wonder how someone like this got promoted to run a store with such intimidating and hurtful behavior.

I was here this afternoon (1/19) around 2:30pm and noticed a pretty awful smell. Those in line to check out around me were plugging their noses and covering their faces. A woman had had excessive diarrhea near the entrance to the store, and had proceeded to walk through the front of the store (while leaking excrement on the floor) and stand there, covered in diarrhea, for at least several minutes (she was still there when I left). Despite several complaints from customers, including requests to remover her from the store, security just stood there and stared at her instead of asking her to leave or finding her a more private area to clean up (or seek medical attention! It was pretty bad). While I'm all for being compassionate, this was a pretty horrific experience for everyone else in the store. I'm genuinely worried that myself and other shoppers/employees may have been exposed to something highly contagious like c diff or norovirus. I understand people get sick, but I was a bit shocked by the lack of response from security and management.

There are some nice human touches to this place, like when the manager sings happy birthday to some random soul, but as a supermarket it falls far short of the mark. Poor inventory, disorganized, often lacking in essential items (no tangerines and few baked breads today) are too often the norm. And for at least six months, the exit door didn't work. This place needs to up its game.

I was shopping at this Safeway today around 1:30pm EST. I went to self checkout with a few groceries and gift cards to buy--gift cards that were in a display that was attached to the self checkout area. I had come to the store specifically to buy gift cards for teachers. After scanning my groceries, I tried to scan the gift cards, but a screen popped up saying I'd need help. A male customer service associate came over immediately and said he'd get someone to help me because he didn't have the ability to help me with the gift cards. He was really kind and courteous, and quick and I heard him immediately ask the female customer service representative for help. Several minutes later, the female customer service representative came over. I told her I needed to buy gift cards and she told me those could only be purchased at customer service and I would have to wait 15 minutes if I wanted to do that because she wasn't at the customer service desk. I told her that I couldn't wait 15 minutes because my toddler was with me (I had already been holding up the kiosk for more than 5 minutes). She looked at me blankly, didn't say please or thank you, or apologize, and walked away. I decided I wouldn't buy the gift cards, so I tried to pay for my groceries, but the screen was still on the "wait for associate" setting. I motioned her to come back. I said a single sentence to her, other than asking her to clear the screen: I said "I don't know why these cards are being advertised as a part of self-checkout if I can't buy them here." At that point, she shouted at me, in front of my toddler and multiple customers, and sharply said, "M'am, I told you you'd have to wait 15 minutes." And then stormed off. She embarrassed me in front of my child and in front of other customers. I left without buying the gift cards and will take my gift card business elsewhere.I understand and appreciate that customer service is a difficult job, and I have had good experiences at the Safeway I normally go to, which was not this one. However, I do not understand why someone is working in customer service if she can't say please, sorry or thank you, and most importantly, if she can't engage with customers in a respectful manner. She cut me off, yelled at me, showed no awareness of (or care for) how she was acting in front of a child. Even if there was no way for her to help me for 15 minutes, the interaction would have been completely different had she been nice. And I might have tried to wait with my toddler if I felt like I wasn't going to continue to be treated disrespectfully. I encourage you to train your associates--this one in particular--to behave in a respectful way. And perhaps don't put gift cards in the self checkout aisle if people can't buy them there....

This Safeway is generally standard in its quality, but Roman, the staff member, provides above-and-beyond customer service every time I see him. He goes out of his way to make me feel welcome and celebrated. He is extraordinarily kind, helpful, and excellent at his job!

Ramon is the kindest staff I’ve ever seen on any Safeway! I’m glad to run into him and his top-notch attention every time I come here!

The last few times I patronized this location the security personnel were too busy checking their smart phones to notice the rampant shoplifting happening. Not good. This doesn't promote a safe environment for customers . Ever since this location began selling beer and wine there has been a lack of secure atmosphere.

Came in late, found most of what I needed, and got out. The one associate I was able to locate was very confused by my request for powdered lemonade, finally telling me they didn't have it. I'm a little skeptical. ?

Love coming down here to the fish market. Also, I am pleasantly surprised at events that I see down there from concerts to film viewings. My favorite is the water taxi. I keep a season pass!

I give this Safeway four stars because it has a pretty good produce section, with a nice selection of fruits and vegetables. A 2-lb. bag of kale for $4.99 at an everyday price is a nice deal. There are lots of bunched leafy green options for folks who like to cook these things, e.g., chard, spinach, kale. The store boasts a very good selection of tropical fruits, as well as a wide array of frozen and non-frozen fake meat products. Frozen seafood options for things like pastas and other dishes are also good (e.g., scallops, shrimp, squid). Self-checkout works pretty well, and, there is always a staff member on hand to assist with any issues. Use a Safeway membership card for extra savings. The store is rarely crowded; another plus.
