OMG 😲 What an expensive supermarket! I'm coming from New Jersey to visit the place for the weekend and I can't believe how expensive this supermarket is.
Also, there isn't much variety of things.

They under staffed the lines be long as hell to the point there are 4-5 people in an aisle waiting while they only ever have 2-3 cashiers open but when i go see about any job openings they are ALWAYS talking about how "they're not in the hiring season right now so were not looking at applications" but the same bullshitting mfers still there barely doin they job i literally had a cashier hold a conversation with a customer for 10 mins AFTER she was finished cashing her out then walked off when i was next so i went to another line then she goin come to me talking bout "i can ring out now"

Rush hour, 6pm, and only 2 cashiers. So the lines are crazy long. Not good. Safeway makes huge profits from its shoppers. But doesn’t show respect to its customers by paying for enough people to work on the shifts.

I have sent western union from several Safeways and never been asked more than two questions when sending money . The young lady even asked if I speak fluent English and then laughed when I told her what country I was from . Do better !

Of the three full service grocery stores east of the river, this one is definitely the best. Shelves are always stocked.

The main issue is that this store is extremely understaffed. I don't have an issue with anyone working there, they're clearly trying their best, but it's just not a good situation for customers or employees. I've never seen more than 3 checkout lanes open, and you'll often end up waiting in line for 20 minutes just to pay, especially if you come at a busy time. The produce and meat selection is very spotty, and I'll often have to sort through damaged or off food in order to find what I need. It's not uncommon to smell rotting food. Overall it's just a hassle to shop here, and it could be easily fixed by hiring more people. I'm sure the owners could find the cash to do so if they got rid of the (multiple!) armed guards and surveillance tower in the parking lot; shoplifting doesn't make me feel unsafe, but deputized strangers with guns eyeing me as I shop definitely does.

If I could give a 0 stars I would. The ENTIRE Frontend Management & STORE MANAGER INCLUDED is unprofessional. The store is dirty and always has out of stock issues. The pharmacy line is ALWAYS long never properly staffed. If they took money from the security's budget and put more into hiring pharmacy techs and stockers it would be better. TREAT SE DC BETTER !!! We DESERVE BETTER !!!

It's sad that this is one of my neighborhood grocery stores. The level of professionalism, courtesy, and customer service is non existent. Not one greeting was made to me but to tell me they weren't making anymore food. All I wanted was a piece of chicken to tide me over until I made dinner. Then when going to speak to management they were nowhere to be found. I literally HATE this Safeway.

They've cleaned up the store a bit...but same old panhandling and confusion around entrance...yuk!!!
Plenty of parking but don't expect much "customer" service at so named front desk....(that's the one with long waiting line) but sort of amazing breadth of inventory....marked down meat a pleasant surprise and nice bakery & deli areas...

This place has absolutely atrocious service. And just walking into the place is absolutely insane. The amount of people standing there begging and causing a ruckus. God forbid you need help. I stood there five minutes at self check out asking “does anyone work here?” Only to be told I didn’t ask for help. Horrible service.
