I saw the bad reviews but at that point I ran out of options. I got my braids done yesterday. Agreed on a price with Flora beforehand. Then out of nowhere, while I was already in the chair, what I wanted would be an extra $100, so basically $380 even though I brought my own hair. I was with Serafina and honestly the braids weren't good quality. Messy parts. Uneven lines. I got knotless and there is so much space from my scalp to where the braid actually starts. Flora stopped by and was extremely condescending and rude. I called her out on it and she apologized but she's not a child and knew what she was doing. There was a mirror and I could see every thing. Plus my hair part wasn't even straight which is literally the bare minimum. Honestly as a New Yorker who is used to getting the $180 any style any length, this shop truly is not worth a single penny. I paid $280 for way worse quality braids and every time I asked for any kind of change to the style Serafina acted like it was such a huge issue, rolling her eyes and scoffing. I have dealt with rude braiders but truly this has got to be the worst experience I have ever had with any braider in my life. Save your money. Listen to the bad reviews they are right. And the owner being so defensive to the bad reviews is extremely telling.

I love going here for knotless braids the hair is provided if you want which is a bonus ! the ladies here are very nice it's always great music videos playing and it can be a very calming experience!

Braids were excellent when finished. Requested asymmetric pageboy style at the onset. A bit of confusion at the end. I'm not happy with the burnt tips to arrive at the requested style. My first visit to a braiding salon. I didn't know that they wouldn't cut the braids. I left with the style I wanted which to me was only fare for the cost of $200. I would recommend; just make certain everything is totally clear at the beginning . I thought that I had. However, I have received many compliments so they definitely know how to braid.

Disrespectful owner very hard to communicate with and was very caddy. Does not get back in time with pricing inquiries; unprofessional. Second time coming and the first time was a stressful a experience because I was getting my hair done for my birthday and I didn’t know you had to pay before hand because I was recommend by someone and the style was a gift. Then at some point the owner argued with me over her daughter doing my hair when all I had was a question or it was some minor misunderstanding that wasn’t deep but tried to argue with me. And I was a NEW costumer and anyone who cares about their hair and important milestones understands new stylist anxiety especially as a black person who cares about their hair and making sure things go to your planning. I ended up loving the outcome of my hair. This time up charged the price In messages compared to what was told in person before I left the shop. Tried to tell me what I was going to get in her words. I had no issue pivoting to a different style but was told last minute they couldn’t service me because the person had an emergency. Fortunately I did not get serviced.

Would only recommend this place to someone I genuinely dislike. The stylist ignored the picture I showed her. I stopped her immediately when I noticed she said she would fix it. She continued for another 20 minutes. I stopped her again. By this time it was too late. The style she gave me was excruciatingly painful she used no oil grease gel or anything. The style looked bad and unprofessional. And it all could have been resolved if she just listened to me when I stopped her and showed her the picture MULTIPLE times. If you want someone to play in your hair, go here. Hate my hair style, in pain, feel so disrespected. Only reason I didn't get up and leave is because I have somewhere to go tonight and already wasted an hour of my time.

The people were very nice, but I got something as simple as 2 strand twist and it looks horrible. My middle part is slanted, there method of styling and hold hair wasn’t done til the very end so my hair looks corse and I have a very good grain of hair. Overall to pay 120 including wash and dry my hair should look better then this.

This was my first time there. My daughter suggested I come out of my comfort zone and try something different. I had a 9;00 appointment and was started right away. I got the Senegalese braids and was 100% satisfied. I'm tender headed and it was taken into consideration. I will return and recommend my friends

no no no !!! run very fast pass this shop and go to iabc on georgia ave anywhere but here ! dont waste your time or money they scheming and over charging and rude asf they neva have staff ready and available! the shop never has more than 2 customers dont ignore the dont do it !!

Simply Natural was recommended to me by nearby Vibrant Textures. I'm supporting a young person in foster care, and she really wanted braids. We did box braids and it took 3.5ish hours. We initially made an appointment at Vibrant Textures for braids, but were later told they only do natural hair on weekends and that Simply Natural was "like family" and that they really trust them. We had called and made an appointment for 10am, but the stylist was finishing another client when we arrived, and we probably didn't actually start until 10:45, which is frustrating. That seems to be their M.O. as someone else popped in to get a two-strand twist and the lady said she'd be able to do it in 10 minutes, and the woman who wanted braids was like, "no, you always say 10 minutes, but then it's 10 minutes and then ten more minutes and ten more. I'll come back another time." She got box braids and it took 3.5ish hours. She was really happy with how her hair came out, but she's young and we are white--we weren't given any instructions on how to best care for them or style them, which would have been really helpful. Overall, I'm happy with the results but was underwhelmed with the overall service. I might go back if they were in my neighborhood but would allocate significantly more time.
