Yes yes !!! And they keep talking to other customers while ur standing there watching.. i had that 2 times in the 2 different days. NO MORE !!!

I live right down the street, but I will walk 10 minutes extra to avoid shopping here.
Really high prices, which isn't necessarily a dealbreaker. This looks like a small family business, so I honestly wanted them to succeed.
It's gross to require customers to either leave a tip or physically enter 0 on tip at checkout. What exactly are we tipping for? The privilege of spending $20 on a 6-pack of high noons? However, it feels bad not to tip when the cashier is two feet away.
I'd rather just walk a bit further and spend less without feeling guilt tripped or manipulated at the register.

Friendly and great selection, good prices for what you get. Good single malt options.

Small but convenient location, and the prices reflect this. $28 for an 8-pack of High Noon, for reference. This is understandable given the locale.
-2 stars because the checkout terminal asks you for a tip by default, and you have to go through the hassle of hitting "custom amount" to tip 0%. Change this shady, obnoxious tactic.
-1 star for the clearly false, large "Voted Best Liquor store in DC!" sign out front. Yeah in what poll? Nobody has ever said that about this location, and new customers can tell. This, combined with the aforementioned checkout terminal is very slimey and off-putting behavior that customers can smell from a mile away.

Sohal Wine & Spirits Review: A Favorite DC Shop
Sohal Wine & Spirits is one of my favorite shops in DC, offering a great selection of spirits at good prices. Bobby is friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the shopping experience. The store is uniquely located in a row home, adding to its charm. Whether you're looking for a specific bottle or just browsing, Sohal Wine & Spirits is a top choice.

This is my neighborhood wine and spirits store and couldn't recommend more highly. Great liquor selection and strong wine and beer selection for a place of its size. But moreover, I love going because the family who owns and operates the place is so kind and friendly and a staple of the neighborhood. Great place to give your business!

Don't shop there if you are melanin rich...I walked in and tried to have banter with the male human working there...he walked right by me and ignored me. If only he had known that after a hard day, I was looking to calm myself and I'm not a cheap drinker. Too bad my money was not wanted. Well they will not get a second chance.

My favorite liquor store in the area. Large selection of alcohol and they have random snacks and ice cream which is a nice treat. Staff is always friendly and efficient + they have Apple Pay which is convenient.

Really good selection (especially liquor), packed into a small space. If you arrive when the door is locked, just ring the doorbell and be a little patient as the owner comes around to let you in. For your first visit, I'd recommend budgeting some extra time to look through what's available to familiarize yourself with the stock. We will definitely be back!
