Only bc you have to pick a star. DO NOT BANK WITH THIS INSTITUTION. Suntrust should have never merged! Uninformed customer service reps and poor business practices. I'm closing my account as soon as I can get to a bank.

I AGREE WORST BANK EVERBEWARE OF TRUISTI had a secured credit card with this bank in an attempt to grow my credit. After a year of perfect payment history on this card I applied for an unsecured credit card. My branch manager told me that I was approved for an unsecured credit card with a credit line of $3500 and that I should close my secured credit card account. A few days later I was told I was declined for that card. She stated that the funds for the secured credit card would be released in 30 days. When the 30 days had past the funds were still not released and I was told that I would have to wait another 7 days. My whole experience with Truist has been horrificIf you value your money, keep it far away from this bank, if it can be called that

The worst service I have ever received at a bank in my life. What exactly are these useless "employees" being paid to do? I recently opened an account with Truist. The senior relationship banker told me my funds would be available at midnight. I then find out after my card was declined that my funds weren't available yet and there was a hold due to a phone number mismatch. So, I visited Rhode Island Ave and wanted to get my money back and close my account. Shola was the rudest experience I've literally ever had at a bank in my life. Dismissive, self centered, and basically made me feel like she didn't care about helping me. Didn't smile once the entire conversation. Also made me wait for a long time when there were no other customers. So rude. She was convinced my card worked after we spoke so I visited Jersey Mike's down the block to test it out but once again my card was declined. I then came back and the door was locked. She recognized me and came to the door but still condescendingly stood there and made me ring the doorbell. Then Nayyirah took me to her cubicle and did nothing. I was shocked. I told her my phone was given to me by another person and customer service had an issue with the name mismatch. And so I asked if I can use a google phone number. And she said "I don't know." And then I'm like if you don't know then why don't you call someone and figure it out. She was useless. So is Truist paying her to do nothing? If you don't know find out! She expected me to do all the work when I had wasted 3 hours of my life commuting to and discussing these issues. I HATE HER. I explained this was my only account and I literally need to buy food. I am suing. She wouldn't call to see if my check cleared and did nothing. Stop paying her. I'm speaking to a lawyer and considering a lawsuit. I'm starving due to having no money at this moment and she does not care. She wouldn't help me quit the bank. She just acts quiet. I HATE HER. FIRE HER!!!

I deposited a cashier's check from the Pentagon Federal Credit Union in person at a local branch where a bank employee examined and deposited the check. A couple of days later, I checked on the deposit and discovered the check had been placed on hold for almost two weeks. The next day, when I called to ask why the check was being held for so long and to request the hold be lifted. The agent replied that the hold was to protect me from fraudulent activity and that this was the banks policy and therefore, they could not override the hold. I researched the Federal government regulations concerning bank's hold policy and found that cashier's checks and government issued checks are held for one day and the time frame for the amount I deposited was up to seven days unless the customer was not in good standing, the source of the check was questionable, or the deposit was made at an ATM. None of these exceptions applied to my deposit. The regulation also states that bank holds can be overridden. Consequently, I decided to change banks and while processing my new account paperwork the bank employee mentioned that their branch manager was a former Truist employee and that recently a number of Truist customers had switched to their bank.Incredibly as I was nearing completion of the paperwork, I saw a former Truist employee in the new banks line.It was then I knew I had made the right decision. This is a bad bank.

DO NOT OPEN ACCOUNTS WITH THIS BANK EVER!!! DO NOT LET THEM STEAL YOUR MONEY AND HOLD FUNDS FOR NO REASON!! THIS MERGE IS NOT WORKING AT ALL!!! Ridiculous policies from the "Fraud Department" If you buy a house with a cashier's check, why is a bank hold then using a cashier's check for 15 days hold? There is no hold on when you move into a home because of a cashier's check. On 11/4/22 at 2 Pm I deposit a check. On Monday balance was not available and unable to access the money because a 15-day hold was placed on a cashier's check. Found this out Tuesday morning. After spending an exhaustive amount of time on the phone and asking for a supervisor. The supervisor was not able to release the hold. Because the bank manager at the local branch was not in office yet. This is the 3rd time a hold was placed on my money. If a transfer is done there is a charge. This is why I received a cashier's check. Another time a hold was placed on a direct deposit. Another time hold was placed because of my signature is what I was told.

WORST BANK EVER!!!! RUN!!!!!!! don't trust them with your money. I wanted to withdraw from my account the other day, they didn't want to do it, keep telling me they have to email another branch (email not call!!) and wait for their approval to give me my own money. Took them 3 hours to give me the amount i requested to withdraw from my CHECKING account lol Not even sure if that's legal to hold people's money hostage for that long

DO NOT OPEN ACCOUNTS WITH THIS BANK EVER!!! DO NOT LET THEM STEAL YOUR MONEY AND HOLD FUNDS FOR NO REASON!! THIS MERGE IS NOT WORKING AT ALL!!! Ridiculous policies from the "Fraud Department" My husband opened an account in May and he had AVAILABLE FUNDS (CASH) of $7K since he needed to make several payments. After this, he deposited 2 checks on 5/31. 1st check they put a red flag because it was a check issued to my husband's company ($900). The other one was indeed under my husband's name from a well-known Mortgage Company "Freedom Mortgage" for $5K+. Well...for the 1st check they freeze the funds until we sent the company documents and they confirmed that the company belongs to my husband (fair enough) We provided all the documents and they confirmed everything was ok nevertheless THEY KEPT THE FUNDS ON HOLD. For the 2nd check, they told us that we needed to provide more documentation (which we did). This was not enough, and they asked for a letter from the payer confirming the check will be cleared and not returned (which we provided) In the meantime, because we were not expecting this, my husband already issued several checks over the initial $7000 that he had available on the account. Nevertheless, he deposited more cash to make sure the checks he issued will be paid. WELL...THE CHECKS WERE NSF AND THE ACCOUNT WAS FROZEN COMPLETELY. AS OF TODAY 6/30, THE ACCOUNT IS FROZEN FOR 1 MONTH WITH $14K because they want a notarized letter from Freedom Mortgage stating that "the funds will be cleared, and they will not claim the funds back" BUT THE CHECK WAS ALREADY CASHED AND CLEARED (AND TRUIST ALREADY CONFIRMED THAT THEY HAVE THE FUNDS). (BTW we forwarded to the bank the email with the attached letter that we received from Freedom Mortgage and they are not accepting this because has not been signed and does not have the name of the Agent who wrote the letter, and this is why now they are asking for a notarized letter) I asked them to close the account and give us the funds AVAILABLE back because the payer will not send a notarized letter and their response is that they can close the account, but the Fraud Department can take some time to close the account and they do not have an estimated time on when they will return the money back. UNBELIEVABLE. OUR MONEY HAS BEEN STOLEN BY THIS BANK. FDIC, BBB, Attorney General, the Federal Reserve Consumer Help, and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau will hear from us! I strongly encourage to all the previous unsatisfied clients for this DISHONEST bank to join me and complain against TRUIST with all the above institutions!!! They have the complaint forms online.

Truist is by far the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Suntrust was great.. truist is a bunch of thieves. It's all over the news. I deposited a check on May 10, and was told it would take 7 business days to clear.. finally on May 31 I go to my local branch and they clear the check and take the hold off my account. The next day.. $1400 is missing from my other account. The check was a tax refund, so I know it didn't bounce, and no one can tel me where MY MONEY IS. I have bills to pay and my account is now negative $1000! This bank is a joke. I can't wait to get all my money and take it out of this shady bank. Customer service on the phone is a joke and just transfer you from person to person. STAY CLEAR AWAY FROM TRUIST UNLESS YOI WANT YOUR MONEY STOLEN FROM YOU.
