I can’t say enough about this establishment and Donna the owner, who is now my adopted Aunt. She was so AMAZING to work with. She and her staff at The New Elroy Bar hosted Ballou’s class of 2012 reunion and it was like a movie! Everyone showed up and had a GREAT time. We were treated so well and she was able to put everything together with such a short time notice which made everything worry free for me. I wish her and her business endeavors nothing but blessings and fruitfulness. She is an amazing business owner and literally treats you like family!!! I’ll always support her businesses! She definitely has a lifelong customer.

Myself and a friend went there when it was advertised that they were doing Covid Testing. While there we took a tour with the owner, Donna. She could have handed us off to an employee but she was gracious enough to walk through with us. I'm not really a people person but she spoke to us like we were catching up like old friends. The patio is really nice. I would definitely come back and hang out there when the weather warms a bit...but that doesn't matter because there are heaters to keep you comfortable during cold weather. The upstairs is definitely gonna be my chill spot.Happy to say I could rent there for future gatherings...plus plus for me.It's great to see The New Elroy owners not just there to make money but to offer a much needed community service. Thanks Donna, you are much appreciated.

About 3-4 years ago the vendors would sell cbd weed pens an pass em off as regular thc pens. I can NEVER forget that.

Came on a Saturday night, around 10pm Music was being played on a laptop I guess. The speakers were terrible. All muffled and the place was only playing trap music Place upstairs is hella small and as the night went on it got too crowded. We were probably there for an hour before leaving. I would not return

If you needed a review to convince you to check this place out please let this be the one that does it!Allow me to break this gem down into elements:MusicThe variety is fantastic! The DJ is very attentive and plays to the crowd.Drinks, Hookah & FoodAbsolutely amazing, there is a fully stocked bar, they even have locally sourced spirits. As well as a plethora of options for premade beverages. The hookah is so smooth and they have just about every flavor I could think of! The food is made to order therefore hot and delicious!AmbianceThere is a cozy lounge upstairs and when the weather is right there is a bright patio toward the rear.And the cherry on top, it's a Black Woman owned bar.10/10 highly recommend.

I've been following them since they opened. Nothing but positivity comes out of this place. The owner Donna is up to date with what the community needs and does her best to provide it.The Chef, Starr is constantly providing delicious snacks and meals and support to the establishment.This a spot to check out!

Well what can I say? The Elroy is my favorite bar in DC and I’ve been more times than I can count. The atmosphere is inviting and warm. A fabulous lounge vibe inside with an expanded outdoor patio outside! I go upstairs to check out the view fromThe large windows overlooking H St. Great sound system and DJs. The Elroy is a spacious and chill. I recommend you try it yourself.

Bomb.com! Went up and down U street , not what I was looking for :( My boyfriend and I came here , Paradise (our server) definitely delivert! We drank ‘Rum Punch’ and ‘Blue Mermaid’ and ate Whiting Fish, Fries and Hush Puppies. We were able to watch Thursday night Football and Listen to some good music! Definitely be back ! ?
