Despite my appointment taking over three hours I had a great experience at T & D. I like that they have a tiered payment option for nail techs based on experience which allows the newer techs to still gain clients while the clients have the ability to come in fully aware of what they’re signing up for. I received a mani/pedi from a junior tech which despite it taking quite a long bit of time was excellent. There was a great attention to detail and when my tech needed help she seeked it to ensure I recieved proper service. Just be aware that if you are coming in for services from a lesser experienced tech be prepared for the skill set and speed of service to match that. I would definitely return & reccommend this shop to others.

MY ONE AND ONLY PLACE TO GO! Everything is great here. Service is amazing, every girl is making amazing job. They are making my ideas every time perfectly as I imagine. I was struggling to find a good nails salon in DC since I moved here and then I found T&D when they just opened, and since then I’m a regular client here. It’s been 2 years since I’m coming here every month for my manicure/pedicure.
Special thank you want to tell to Dia, the owner, amazing person and great nails specialist! And to every single person who’s working in T&D!

I always come to this salon for my pedicures, and I am never disappointed. The service is truly exceptional — the staff are warm, welcoming, friendly, and respectful. Their professionalism and care make me want to return again and again. Highly recommended

The staff was super kind and they ultimately did a nice job on my nails (builder gel)/pedicure (whatever their spa option is) however prepare yourself to spend close to 4 hours if you’re doing both. The speed was glacial. I’d rather them spend more time doing a good job than not, but I was sitting for close to 4 hours between the two.

ALERT: Attention everyone! This nail salon that we visited claimed to promote “good vibes only,” but that was far from our experience. They showed clear bias against Black people, claiming they didn’t know what a full set was and refusing to add nail extensions while serving other clients with extensions. Their excuses were inconsistent, and it became evident they didn’t want us there. This is unacceptable customer service. We should stand against discrimination and support inclusive spaces. Thankfully, we found a welcoming alternative nearby at Queenie Nails that was walkable. We came from North Carolina on a short trip.

I’ve been coming here for a couple years and they have always been dependable, professional, and pleasant. I’ve never come here without an appointment because they tend to be slammed some days, so make sure you plan ahead of time to not only help yourself but also the staff. Great at builder gel and have always executed well on any designs I’ve requested!

Update: I called for a manager to see if I could have my nails fixed. The person I talked to gave me a number, I called and left a message, and have not heard back from anyone to this day. Additionally, I just finished a round of antibiotics as I got a bacterial infection in the cuticle after going to this salon. I have NEVER had this happen before.
I really wanted to like this place but I don’t think I’ll ever return. First, they do this weird thing where they switch technicians without notifying the client so you could very well be getting someone you didn’t book. I specifically booked with a “senior technician” (there is an $30 difference between booking with a senior and junior technician) and I’m convinced they switched me to a junior technician with the issues she was having. She was visibly getting frustrated. When I pointed out that a corner of my nail needed more paint, instead of putting on a new coat, she filed my nail down and now the shapes of my two nails are very different. I got BIAB, and my nails are bumpy, misshaped, and there are little brush streaks on them from when she was adjusting the BIAB. They look like little chiclets. When I called a day later to find out who my actual technician was, the person told me to “call back in an hour” and that she didn’t know who I was describing. That was a very weird response to me. Finally, after looking at other negative reviews, it really appears that this salon values providing quality service for certain clientele more than others. I sincerely hope this is not the case, but I wish I would have done more research before going.

I love it here!! I have been getting builder gel here for 2 years now. It takes a little longer than a regular gel manicure, but I it is so worth it and last a month

I have been getting my nails done at professional nail salons for the past 30+ years. T&D is probably the best salon I’ve ever experienced. Their service is friendly and extremely professional. Their attention to detail has always given me nails that everyone admires everywhere. Like I’ve said before, T&D is the BEST place in town to get your builder gel done. Dia and Nami are amazing artists and I always love my nails. The builder gel on my own, natural nails looks smooth and lasts well beyond 3 weeks. Highly recommended!!

The best manicure I’ve ever had. Every technician in the salon is excellent, and trained to such a high standard of perfectionism. If you are picky about your nails, this is the place to go, they get it.
Builder gel is a game changer, if you haven’t tried it, you must. Thinner and more natural looking than regular gel, as strong as acrylic but doesn’t damage the nail, and lasts for over a month.
I’ve been coming here for two years and have never looked back.

This was one of the worst nail experiences I’ve ever had, and I strongly do not recommend choosing Ayana if you visit this salon.
I’ve come here before and had a great manicure experience with a different technician, which is why I decided to come back. But this time—about a week ago—was absolutely awful.
My appointment started at 12:00 PM with Ayana for both a basic manicure and pedicure (nothing fancy, just one or two colors). It was supposed to be done by 1:45 PM, but by 3:00 PM, it still wasn’t finished—and I had to leave. That’s three hours for a basic service, and it still wasn’t complete.
Worse, during the appointment, Ayana kept redoing the nails and repeatedly made mistakes. She used tools so roughly that four of my fingernails started bleeding because she pushed too hard into the nail beds. I had to apply pressure to stop the bleeding myself.
She also couldn’t find the right color I asked for (a light jelly green), and ended up putting a bright green on my little finger instead—which looked totally out of place. Another coworker eventually found the right jelly green color and tried to fix some of the damage, but overall it was a disaster.
Ayana promised to text me to schedule a time to come back and fix it, so I still gave her a tip. But guess what? No text, no email, nothing. After two days, I had to call the salon myself—angry—before they even responded. By then, they offered me a late appointment, but I was already out of town and couldn’t go back.
Now, just one week later, the polish on my thumb completely peeled off and my forefinger is already chipped halfway. My nails look terrible.
If you still want to try this salon, do not book with Ayana. Terrible experience, zero accountability, and completely unprofessional.

Got a Gel-X Nail extension and builder gel overlay manicure done with Suki yesterday. She did a phenomenal job! Salon is sanitary and has a nice atmosphere, it is small but well-organized. One thing to keep in mind is the appointment took about two hours - but the nail techs are meticulous. Personally, I'd rather have a good manicure that takes longer than a rushed/sloppy job, so I appreciated the attention to detail! Loved the final result and will be returning!
