I have been using this cleaner for 7 years. Prices are on the high side, but it is convenient. Several times during the last year, I noticed that shirts I paid to be cleaned were pressed but not cleaned. Once I removed the plastic, they smelled musty like they hadn’t been cleaned. He corrected it but I knew they were cutting corners to save dollars. Two weeks ago I took my doctoral gown here. Before I left I told the owner that he should be careful not to iron the velvet lapel because it would mess it up. I also told him to please be careful with it as it is one of my most prized possessions. He assured me that he knew. Today, when I went to pick up the gown and the velvet had been ironed with too hot an iron and it had several NOTICEABLE shiny iron spots. I immediately removed the plastic and showed the owner the damage on both sides of the lapel and sleeve. He LIED and claimed he hadn’t ironed the gown…hmmm how did the wrinkles come out? Liar! Incredulously, i asked was he serious with that lie. I know for a fact the damage happened there because I had just left an event and dropped the robe off on my way home. Rather than apologizing and offering to compensate me, this dude lied and denied. I asked him how he thought the robe was damaged while hanging off my body. He then said that maybe my sweat had damaged it.?? . I said “so water did this on the outside of the robe??” I said “water doesn’t discolor velvet. These are burn spots.” He then declared that he had “done so much”for me. It was giving pure drama… This man has NEVER done a thing for me except clean my clothes for cash (and singed my robe). I think he believed that my paying for a service he provided was charity. He then mentioned that he had redone my shirts at no charge (that ones that were still musty when I picked them up). ?Somehow, he thought that correcting a poorly washed shirt had been done out of the beneficence and magnanimity. How crazy?!! He is a small, small weak person who can’t even own his mistakes. I then pulled up a video and picture of me in the robe an hour before I brought it to him and it looked glorious with no damage. He refused to even look at it. Cowardice! Why do business with him? If He lied to a 7 year customer and refused to pay for the robe he damaged what will he do to your clothes? No respect, no honesty and no accountability. Thank GOD for small claims court. He will not be able to dodge my evidence there

I've been coming to this shop for over 8 years and have never been disappointed by the price, attention to deal, and speed. I've even moved from the first home I had in the neighborhood and still come back to Nick to get my clothes clean.If I've got stains, Nick makes them disappear. Tears? All sewn up. All handled with a friendly smile and unwavering professionalism. Highly recommend Nick and Tower cleaners if you live in Mt Vernon/Shaw and beyond!

Friendly service and usually prompt. They do light tailoring and adjustments here at market price. If you submit anything leather however expect a lengthy wait.

I’ve gotten dry cleaning as well as alterations done here before! The dry cleaning is about $20 for a dress (both formal and professional dresses) and have come back clean with no issues. For the alterations, I got a formal dress hemmed, which had 3 layers with the top being chiffon, for about $80. They were able to finish in less than 2 weeks. The owner is very nice and has remembered me. I’d definitely recommend this place!Service: Alterations

Amazing, friendly, helpful, above and beyond standard service!!I had a big work meeting to attend, parked my car and noticed I had a split in the seam of my dress pants in the lower thigh area that was growing larger. Yikes!A quick Google search showed that Tower Cleaners was the nearest dry cleaner in the area. I walked in and shared my predicament.The gentleman at the counter was sympathetic, but said they didn’t have anyone on site at the moment who could patch it up. But he offered to try to pin it together for me. I was desperate and gladly accepted.He pointed me to the dressing room and I was able to discreetly hand him the pants while I waited for him to do what he could.A few minutes later, he shared he was done and discreetly handed me the pants back. I was a bit confused as I couldn’t feel any pins, yet the pants looked and felt as good as new.I put them on and then exited the dressing room asking him what kind of magic he worked. He said though he doesn’t usually sew or use the sewing machine, he was able to figure it out for me.I asked how much it costs and he said it was on the house.I am still blown away by the generosity, kindness, and just all around exemplary service that was shown to me in my time of need. Great spot, the only place I come to now. Incredibly fair prices compared to others in the area. Turn around time is fast, and they are accommodating. I had a jumpsuit I needed hemmed for a special event last minute and they were able to turn it around in 2 days.

Nick is always there and does a great job with alterations - on multiple occasions I've had to get pants or a jacket altered for events and Nick is great on advice on where to measure and fit a garment. I highly recommend Tower for alterations, and for the weekly cleaning. In eight years I've never had an item lost or damaged and appreciate the service and having them in the neighborhood!
