Had a nice time here. Saw an informational plaque. Be warned though, most of the outlets in the seating area and upper level are locked. If you're lucky you might find one that didn't get locked. Bathrooms were a little dirty (probably from the sheer volume of people using them), and the stall door I used wouldn't close. I had to use my suitcase to keep it closed. There are some stores in here, and a shoe shining station, but things in the stores are extremely overpriced, not sure if that's a fault of the station itself though. Saw some pigeons inside too that looked comfortable. Some pipes on the ceiling were discolored from their p*** though.

Amazing architecture and general environment. Like going back in time as you walk through the doors.

Clean, bright, clear sign everywhere and there is an Officer (office manager) until late night who is willing to help the tourists who come to D.C for the first time. This woman officer even took time to get out of her room to help and explain us about how the Metro ticket-machine works and recommend us for what kind of ticket we should buy. Thank you!

Nice station, clean and beautiful. Just surprised at the homelessness issue here. It is sad to see it and it is way more than I expected compared to my trips in Grand Central NYC. There are not many food choices here other than chains and fast food. Lots of stores are closed, so not much to do here either. Its just a train station afterall. Noting it is extremely easy to navigate yourself here, easy to find your way. Either bus or train. Not a sightseeing spot.

Beautiful and historical train station in DC. Very large and has a food court, waiting areas, etc. If you get there before 5am there is a guard that checks your ticket so they are making sure strangers aren't there. Track and screens were easy to follow and on time.

Have been here several times to drop off & pick up friends & family & have also come here with out-of-towners to take them on tours of DC as this is a starting point for many of the tour companies. Also was here for a company Christmas party years ago & that was amazing! It really is a lovely train station with its beautiful architecture! The station has tons of shops for your enjoyment and, of course, food & drinks. There is a parking garage in the back & a Kiss n Ride drop off at the front for your convenience. The sad part about Union Station is it always has a homeless camp out front. It breaks my heart to see this on many levels & it always shocks me into the reality of how fortunate we all are! Regardless of our everyday struggles, we always have a lot more to be thankful for than we may realize. Amen!

Conveniently located next to the METRO, free Wi-Fi, a limited number of food options and some stores. What I like about this station is all the tracks are in one area, close to many viewing status boards. One disadvantage of this, when it's busy, people are herded together like cattle. The building in itself is beautiful, but a little tired. It needs a little more love and care. All in all you don't have other options to take a train in and out of Washington.

I love the station other than the homeless issue it has, the wait for them to post your gate and track information, and at lack of seating. The trains are usually on time or just a few off. They have plenty of facilities to eat and the Walgreens has just about any items for travel you might have forgot. It's also right behind the capital. You walk out and across and your at the mall. They do have a lot of homeless but Amtrak police do a great job of making sure they stay out of the terminal for the most part. I wish they had more seating in the lobby and they have room for it just lack the seats. They also wait until 15 minutes or less from arrival to post gate and track information. It would be nice if they would post it before. But overall it's definitely not bad. Especially for a train station in DC.

Easy signage and gateway to Amtrak and metro. Shops are nice, though quite a few of the businesses have vacated since Covid. The ones left have limited hours. No more H&M or Apple store. If you walk outside, be aware of the random people trying to talk to you. I actually had one ignorant man ask if I spoke English. In 2021, there is no excuse for ignorance when everyone has mobile phones and Internet. Catch a clue, l***** It really ruined my perfectly nice day. Overall, that is an abnormality in DC since it generally is a hub for international people (diplomats, politicians, students, etc.).

I have been to stations at various cities, this one is my favorite. Very well maintained, clean and very easy to navigate. Directions are well presented on every wall. People working at the ticketing counter have been very nice. Resting area is pretty comfortable. If you're trying to find a charger for your phone then it would be pretty difficult to fine one. Otherwise, great place to rest if you arrive early for your train. They have some decent food options. I usually prefer the Cava there. Restrooms are pretty clean as well.

What's not to love? Beautiful historic building, stunning architecture, souvenir shops, miscellaneous shops, a lot of gastronomic options to choose from and, of course, many options to travel to any place in our great nation

Great place but if you're operating multiple trains - Marc, Amtrak, etc., then maybe have more seats, especially when all the trains are delayed for hours.

Now that I live in Baltimore, I'm excited to take the train in to visit to DC often. It's pretty easy to grab the MARC or an Amtrak from Baltimore and arrive at Union in 40 minutes to an hour (depending on the type of train). Union Station is very convenient, since it is a train station, bus station, and metro station (Red Line). However convenient it is, Union Station is just fine. It's a bit of a confusing layout and many shops and restaurants weren't open at times when I would have expected them to be. However, it's convenient and necessary! And there is some beauty to the old place! Not a bad place to arrive in DC.
