Friendly helpful staff, normal wait times. If they’re out of stamps, just get some
At Safeway across the street. Only nuisance is entitled customers who come in and treat postal workers poorly. Read some of the 1 star reviews below for examples (or come in and witness these people—shameful to see adults act that way.)

I really like this post office, I just wish it was open a little earlier. Super hard to get to if you work a 9-5

I paid 20 times the regular mail rate for second-day priority service to send a lightweight, 2mg letter to the DMV, just 20 minutes away. Despite this, it sat at the drop-off location for five days with no updates! very unprofessional, extremely inefficient!!!

Woman did not seem happy to be there and wouldn’t let us put up a poster. UPS was much more accommodating, so if you need anything, go there for a much better experience. Will not be returning to this location as the one on Wisconsin is much better

Honest to God my most favorite post office. Idk how they have such low reviews, im a regular and the ladies there always treat me with such kindness. If you are rude to them they handle it with professionalism, ive witnessed rude impatient customers over the last 2 years and never once have they ever gotten out of character. I never write reviews really, but their characters alone have compelled me to do so. I never have any issues mailing or buying, if you dont know how to do something they will kindly let you know what you need to do. Love all the ladies! So so kind. 10/10 post office.

Looked on the USPS website for hours and seeing it was open until 5:00pm arrived at Chevy Chase DC post office at 4:40pm and the doors were locked and the lights were off. The information on the door confirmed the hours were supposed to be until 5:00pm.

I had a package where the stole the contents worth several thousand dollars and only gave me a number to call which wsnt answered. I sFilled out a form online and it does not let you put all of your info in related to your complaint. USPS is a joke. I am going write and call everyone until I get reimbursed for the insurance I paid for. It's so sad and shows the in efficiency of the government and their lack of concern for your packages even when you pay extra.

Standing in front of building at 10:13 am on Saturday July 15th. The hours posted say open from 9 am- 1pm and they are completely closed. This is bizarre.

They can be underestimated, but keep things moving. I expect to wait a few minutes when I go.

USPS lost my certified piece of mail to DC DMV (hahahaha). When I called to pursue it was clear this would go nowhere. The customer service woman who eventually called back after I created a missing mail service request was surly and unhelpful. She could not give any good answer as to how I might guarantee my next effort to get this important mail to DMV delivered. She did not offer up that I could get refunded the $5 I spent to get the letter certified in the first place. Sade at customer service had left a voice message saying I would get a call so I called her back at that number and she told me to go to my USPS office and get my money back. When I got to the Chevy Chase (DC) post office the woman didn't know how to do this transaction and she gave me two phone numbers to call that she told me were numbers at THAT post office (to speak to her superior who was at lunch). Of course, that turned out to be a complete lie. They were numbers connected to a general customer service office. One had a full mailbox so I couldn't even leave voicemail. The other line had me on hold so long that 5:00 rolled around and I was disconnected. What a disgrace.

I'm not sure why this post office even exists because it's always something - the computer system is down, the credit card machine is down and it's cash only, no change, the one employee who works (because there is never more than 1 employee here) called in sick. Avoid.
