December 2022 by Feargol Ra
I mailed a letter about 3 months ago Priority mail and after 6 working days it was still in there. Also, I made the mistake of going back and mailing another important letter Priority mail last Monday December 12, and it is still there. Today is Dec. 17. Can't use this place for mailing anything. Buying stamps is ok, but mailing, specially important mail, it's not recommended. If you're paying Priority mail, it should go out the same day.

I try to enter in the building but security guard said this Post Office is only reserved for federal employees not for general public I think that is totally wrong.

This is a private post office only for Govt Workers with an ID. Do not go here!!! The ladies at the front office growl at you and randomly let some people in and some people not! Don;t waste your time here. Google needs to remove this from their listing!

This post office is inside the USDA building, in the sub-basement of the South Building. This building is open to the public, but you'll need a valid photo ID and your bags will be passed through an xray machine. You'll also need to enter at one of the designated visitors entrances, such as the one closest to the Smithsonian metro station. Ask the security guards for directions to the post office once you are inside. Beyond the fact that it's hard to find, it's a post office. Friendly staff, and never a line.
