Be sure to call & ask if you'll be allowed to try on more than 5 pairs of glasses before you go here. In January 2024, manager Jeanette told us they were still following Covid protocol & I was limited to try on only 5 pairs of glasses since she would have to sanitize them. We were the only ones in the store in the middle of the day so even if she did have to clean them, what was the big deal? Disgusted, I called the Rockville VisionWorks and was told that is a very old policy and we could go to Rockville and try as many glasses as we wanted. So don't go to the Tenleytown location if you don't want to waste your time.

Jeanette was really Sweet and Patient with me.Overall, this is a Great Location. Customer Service at this Location was Superb including the Doc. she was Down to Earth and Patient as well.

It was the best overall experience I’ve had purchasing eyeglasses. This staff member was really interested in providing attentive service to my needs and possible concerns. She is a long-term employee who knows how to satisfy customers.

The eye exam was thorough. The doctor was patient and explained details to me. The associate took great care helping me select new frames. I have worn glasses for 50 years and rate this the best experience in memory.

Do not go here. I have been in contacts or glasses since the 3rd grade and have never experienced something so bad .They pressure you to take scans, then interpret the scans incorrectly. They told me I had a degenerative eye disease that usually shows in middle age, and I’m 35. I always knew the information wasn’t perfect, but it was a cheapish option for glasses and contacts.Now I know better - it’ll end up costing you more and you’ll have to deal with people who are rude, overstep their diagnostic capabilities, and do a disservice to the entire vision care profession.

The ophthalmologist was friendly, informative, and patient. Layla helped me with the frames and lenses, and she was the best! She’s funny, knowledgeable, fast, and friendly. Overall, it was a quick and easy experience! Thank you VW!

Awful business. Stay away. Went there because they took my new insurance. Wanted new lenses in my (somewhat expensive) frames. First, they messed up my prescription. Glasses came back and were clearly wrong; hurt my eyes. They promised to send them back to the lab and "rush" the fix. Three weeks later, no glasses. Kept calling and stopping by. Weeks later they finally admitted they lost the frames. Manager kept blaming the lab, but one of his employees said he never sent them to the lab. Avoided my calls for weeks. Would not reimburse me for anything. Basically told me to get lost. Do yourself a favor: try MyEye Doctor. It's just up the street, costs about the same, and has great service.

This is the best eye exam and glasses/contacts place in DC. All the staff were really genuinely friendly, helpful and a pleasure to interact with. They were able to schedule an exam for me as a walk-in for the same day. This is becoming rare in customer service, but they made me feel like a valued customer! And they were able to help me with everything I needed.

They do the bare minimum here. When I went in for frames, no one helped me pick out a pair nor explained the prices and inventory. They also have a limited selection of designer frames. Furthermore, when I went to pick up my glasses no one really offered to adjust them. They also didn't have lenses wipes to offer. Finally, when I asked for a manager to help clear up an issue, the person who was helping me said he was the manager but I'm pretty sure he wasn't.

I made an appointment for my son, he is 5 years old, the doctor gave me a referral. I call I give my son's information, they make the appointment and when I arrive at the appointment they tell me that they are very sorry that they had to call me, to cancel because my son is 5 years old, and they do not accept children under 7 years old. Do these people believe that one has the time to waste it??? what a bad administration and above all bad customer service. I do not recommend in any way, bring your loved ones to a place where they do not value.

I had a good visit at the Tenleytown location. My exam appointment was on time and the staff was pleasant and professional. Dr. Tekie was very knowledgeable and he took the time to explain everything to me as we progressed through the exam.

I am still recovering after shock I experienced at Visionworks Tenley Circle on Wisconsin Ave NW and will send a letter to elevate my complaint to the owners of this place. Our regular very pleasant and professional assistant Jeanette was not there, so another one, Laila, was not only unprofessional, but extremely rude, dishonest, and abrupt. It was outside of any human expectations of "customer service". I was never treated/humiliated like that in my entire life. She refused to serve me after she did not know how to resolve a very simple and very primitive issue, which the manager - who appeared to have the very same manner and lack of any sort of communication skills - resolved rather easily. No apologies from his side either, just discourtesy and rude threats. I thought managers are there to help clients, not to attack and to scare them. I came home in tears and trembling, and with a deep feeling of being discriminated against and treated not only unprofessionally, but unhumanly. Later, I read many reviews and discovered that this particular assistant, Laila, managed to make a lot of clients extremely upset by her lack of professionalism, manners and very rude behavior. Customers were ALERTED not to use this location ever. A lot of angry and unhappy clients! I am not sure people with such attitude to work and clients had any right to be anywhere near service if that sort. And managers should be able to resolve and to convey apologies for the staff who has no idea how to do their job and to work with people.
